THE ROTARY CLUB OF EAST KILBRIDE KITTOCH KITTOCH CHARITY CLASSIC CAR TOUR 2016 SATURDAY 10 th September 2016 Welcome to the Rotary Club of East Kilbride Kittoch s seventh Classic Car Tour, sponsored by CJ Electronics. This sponsorship will cover the costs and funding of the Rally Plates, Maps and Souvenir awards for each entrant. There is an entry fee of 50 per car, which includes a roadbook, goodie, bag and high tea for two at the finish. All proceeds after expenses will go to Macmillan Nurses Foundation. You are welcome to add to your entry fee by having you car sponsored for the event by friends and colleagues. From East Kilbride the route will be on glorious roads through Lanarkshire, West Lothian and the Borders, registration from around 10:00am A Tulip Plan Route Book together with a map to ensure no one gets lost will be provided. Entrants will have the choice of making their own way individually or driving in small groups. The event has been organised essentially for driving enjoyment on quieter traffic free roads. It is estimated that those parts of the route on A, B, and better minor roads will be easily covered at an average of 30mph with the more interesting single track roads at a lower average. Starting from the National Museum of Rural Life, tea / coffee / bacon rolls will be available prior to the 11.00am start with the first car leaving around then followed by the rest at around 1 minute intervals thereafter. There is no official lunch stop however there are many options on the route along with possibly taking your own! Marshalls will be on hand to assist with car parking at the finish back in East Kilbride. Actual driving time to the finish is around 4 hours so there is plenty of time to enjoy a few stops; the only proviso is that prize giving will start around 4:30 to 5:00 pm. Announcement The Rotary Club of East Kilbride Kittoch Charity Car Tour will be held on SATURDAY 10 th September 2015 and is organised by the Rotary Club of East Kilbride Kittoch. The event will start at the National Museum of Rural Life 2. Car Eligibility All Vintage, Historic and Classic Cars, including Modern Sports and interesting cars are welcome. Entries are limited to a maximum of 50 cars. 3. Entries The Entry List opens on publication of these Regulations and Entry Form. The Entry List closes on 3 rd September 2016 or when a maximum of 50 entries are received. ENTRY FEE of 50 is required for what is promised to be a day of fun and fellowship amongst like-minded car enthusiasts. All entrants are asked to raise SPONSORSHIP if they can which will go to Macmillan Nurses Foundation. Please seek donations from friends, family and business associates to assist in raising funds for this worthy cause. Please use the separate sponsorship form and don t forget to tick the Gift Aid Box if applicable. Sponsorship can also be raised using www.justgiving.com and money raised can go directly to Macmillan Nurses Foundation. What is NOT included! Overnight accommodation! 6. Route Navigation and Driving Behaviour The route will be on public A and B class and unclassified roads. The route will be on sealed surfaces. Tulip diagrams will define the route. A Road Book and Map will be provided. Participants must at all times comply with the requirements of the Road Traffic Acts and drive in a responsible and considerate manner. Please remember other road users, cyclists, walkers and livestock. 7. Qualification/Licenses There is no element of competition, so no special qualifications are needed. A full UK driving license is required 8. Insurance Insurance is the sole responsibility of the driver. Normally no special insurance is required for a Car Tour, however you are advised to check with your Insurance provider whether you will be covered for this type of event. A minimum of Third Party Insurance for all persons who will drive participating vehicles must be applicable for the duration of the event. All drivers must sign a declaration indemnifying the Organisers from liability, on the Signing on Sheet at the start of the Tour. Page 3 of 7
9. Controls Route Check Code Boards may be in place to establish that the correct route has been followed. 10. Data Protection Act Prospective entrants and participants are advised that information supplied on the entry form will be held on a computer and used for the administration of the event and future events only. 11. Final Instructions Will be sent out around two weeks before the event, which will include a Map of the start and finish venue and the Entry List. The Rally plates, Road Book and Map will be available at the Start, which opens from around 10:00am. 11.
