BGMC SPECIAL PROJECT: Project Hope Special Note to All Churches and Individuals: Where necessary, the photos associated with these projects have been intentionally blurred to conceal the identities of the women and children to whom Project Rescue is ministering. We thank you for understanding our need to respect the privacy wishes of these women and children and their caregivers. Imagine the horror of young women and children in your community being sold into sex slavery. Hard to imagine? Not if you re living in many parts of India. Project Rescue, a ministry arm of Assemblies of God World Missions, is intervening in the lives of thousands of children throughout India. And BGMC is calling on you to help them. Please consider helping BGMC with one or more of the following Project Rescue goals by November 10. This will allow Project Rescue enough time to purchase the needed supplies that will make the lives of these small children a bit happier this coming December and January. Your churches will receive full BGMC giving credit while offering the children a tangible source of happiness and a means to demonstrate that people like us love them and care for them very much! By sending in your offerings using the accompanying BGMC target form, your church will enable Project Rescue to continue offering these children both happiness and the eternal hope in Jesus. Thanks for your consideration! I always live in fear. It is dirty and stinky here. Angry and mean men come. I love to be where I can sing and pray. Nisha David Boyd, national director/bgmc P.S. Please remember to help us respect the privacy wishes of these kids and their caregivers by not sharing these photos on the Internet.
Please Note: Avoid all references to sex slavery when communicating this project with children. Instead, just explain that this ministry is helping abused, neglected, and abandoned children. We thank you for helping us with this sensitive subject. Project Rescue initiatives: Back to-school Supplies Nagpur/Delhi Christmas Presents Nagpur/Delhi School Tablets Bombay Feeding Program Bombay/Badlapur Back-to-School Supplies Nagpur/Delhi Funds Needed November 10, 2014 There are 114 boys and girls in Nagpur and 24 in the homes in Delhi who are elementary and junior high age and who need school supplies. These items can be purchased for the beginning of the next semester. $12 purchases art supplies, stationery, pencils, and a couple other small items one child will use in their school. Nagpur: Delhi: Total: $1,368 needed $288 needed $1,656 needed Christmas Presents Nagpur/Delhi Funds Needed November 10, 2014 For Christmas each year, we make it a priority to purchase something for each child that fits this criteria: a meaningful gift that will delight the child something practical that will be used over and over again something they would not otherwise receive outside the Home This affords us the opportunity to share (especially with the very little ones) the reason we give gifts at Christmas and to talk about the greatest Gift of all time: Jesus.
Last year one bicycle was purchased for every three children. This year we would like to repeat what has been done other years. For girls, a new outfit and/or shoes. For very little girls, a doll and shoes or something like that is an option. For the boys, sports and game equipment (cricket and soccer) that will be used by all. This seems to work for boys of all ages. In some cases, depending on the interests of the kids, we can get some simple musical instruments for them to learn to use and enjoy. $2,340 will provide gifts for the Nagpur kids $1,170 will provide gifts for the Delhi kids $3,000 total to give all 138 kids a nice Christmas School Tablets Bombay Funds Needed November 10 December 1, 2014 Pastor K.K. Devaraj has 75 children in his school in Bombay (connected to the Bombay Teen Challenge ministry). This is a first class school. Every one of the kids has been rescued from the red light district and we are offering them a future through relationship with Jesus, attentive care, and a quality education. Brother Devaraj has a vision to adapt the school and its students to 21 st century education media. His plan is to place all the students curriculum, texts, and assignments on electronic tablets and issue one to each student. The students will do their homework and study on the tablets, and also use them to send in their assignments (over the school network). The plan and technological work has been done. All they need are the actual tablets! When you consider where these kids come from, it is remarkable that such cutting edge 21 st century learning methods can be made available to them. Each tablet costs $234. To provide all 75 students with a tablet is $17,550. $2,340 for 10 students $3,510 for 25 students $8,190 for 35 students $11,700 for 50 students When a student moves up a grade, his or her new curriculum and texts will simply be loaded onto the tablet. The tablets will stay with the school when a child goes on to the high school level. In addition, we expect that more children will be brought into the school in future.
Feeding Program Bombay/Badlapur Funds Needed: Ongoing! $9,354 for one month (650 persons) The costs to provide daily nourishment for children in the Homes of Hope is a constant need at Project Rescue. Usually, each rescued child that lives with us and receives 24/7 care at a home gets two light meals and one full meal per day meals include rice, meat, fruits/vegetables, and clean water. In Bombay, there are 350 kids (who live in the full-time care homes) that are fed. Another 300 street kids in downtown Bombay are fed at midday five times per week. The average cost per meal is $.48. The daily average cost to feed these children is $312, or $9,354 per month. It would be a tremendous blessing to have a church sponsor one, two, or more months of this important and strategic feeding program in Bombay. Thanks for helping BGMC reach the victimized children of India!
