The Company The focus of Baltic Software Solutions is the development and implementation of enterprise level tailor-made software for the financial services companies. Another growing BSS business area is ERP solutions focused to retail and supply chain management process. Software development, implementation training and consultancy are based on advanced IT technologies, standardized processes and qualified IT personnel. Our business philosophy. Baltic Software Solutions was initiated in 2001 by Aidas Kavaliauskas, who had a solid experience in software development for big Western European companies, and EGIB Venture Capital GmbH, Essen. Today Baltic Software Solutions is a member of CID company group with headquarters in Freigericht, Germany. BSS itself is located in Kaunas - third largest city in Baltic's the city with the biggest concentration of IT professionals in Lithuania and the Baltic's leading technical university. The Team Team consists of 52 employees with age average of 30 years. 100% are university graduates in IT. BSS is English speaking company with good knowledge of German and Russian. 88% of them are directly involved in software development process. Solutions ADF application development framework System flexibility, performance, designing and fast implementation rate is mainly influenced by suitable development technology. For better performance of technological tasks BSS has developed its own ADF (application development framework) which is the basis for the tailored application development. Please see figure "ADF versatility" below. Fig. 1 ADF versatility ADF has multi-layer and multi-tier architecture consisting extended library of classes, implementing modular functional structure, and is based on Microsoft.NET framework. BSS ADF allows fast development of multi tier enterprise level applications by assembling ready-to-use modules and classes. ADF defines the rules of how the tailored software specification is mapped to the system architecture and how interactive upgrade of functionality is supported. The GUI components interface the business components. Presentation Tier implements automated data workflows for GUI initialization, loading, saving data, enabling and disabling forms. On this tier Multi-language support is implemented which allows runtime modification of terms and phrases. Application layer has class library which allows combining different reusable GUI components from User Interface tier into end products. Data Tier Data tier has Data Access class library which provides methods for exchanging data between business components and databases. Data tier has also designer tool which generates data entities and business components from database tables. Business Tier Business tier contains a class library which implements business functions. Business tier assures process authentication that prevents unauthorized usage of business components. Service Tier Service tier contains a class library which takes care of set-up and control Web Services, Remote objects, Windows Services and batch applications. Workflow engine BSS software is completely workflow driven. BSS promotes the new "Software Centric" approach to the Business Process Management. Leasing Suite implementation The leasing software will be assembled and implemented in the short time, for very good price quality ratio and will assure minimum total cost of ownership (TCO) and very good return on investment (ROI) because: 1. BSS has a good leasing business process knowledge, 2. The development will be based on high experience in the development of leasing software as enterprise solution and the use of prototypes in the development of software specifications together with the customer, 3. Portfolio migration is very important part of any new software deployment and must be performed with high accuracy and safety. The key requirement for any portfolio migration is to ensure data consistency during the transfer among systems. BSS has developed tools for safe and efficient portfolio data migration among various financial IT systems. Depending on the portfolio complexity the complete migration process takes from one to four months including account mappings and accounting rules configuration; All the data migration steps are reproducible at any time. It is important to emphasize that all the data sources had a unique data format operated on number of different database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SqlBase, IBM DB2. Customers GFKL Financial Services AG, established in 1992, is a leasing and financial outsourcing company. Core competence of the group is asset based lending and the evaluation, acquisition and administration of receivables portfolios. For the past six years BSS is the main software development partner to GFKL. BSS is involved in the development of a full set of applications that are used as main processing and accounting systems. These systems include an e-business platform for the online and POS processing of leasing contracts, an integrated contract administration and financial accounting system, an asset management system and credit application and processing system. Universal Leasing GmbH is a former subsidiary of the Allianz Group, one of the leading leasing companies in Germany that is independent of banks and manufacturers. BSS has developed tailored software for the sales management and e-business platform - NetLease. Proceed Portfolio Services GmbH manages extensive receivables inventories for national and international credit institutions and other institutional investors. New Fleet management system allows AL Finans not only finance the vehicles, but also provide its Customers with the internet access to the accumulated fleet performance information whenever they need and for any period wanted.
