14 CAPM Certification Preparation Level Duration Prerequisites Objectives Contents Exercises Materials Level 2 (Practitioner) CAPM Certification Preparation 3 days A secondary degree (high school diploma or the global equivalent) AND At least 1,500 hours of project experience OR 23 hours of project management education by the time you sit for the exam. This course provides students with the instruction, materials, and support to prepare for the CAPM examination. Completion of this course qualifies as the formal education requirement for the CAPM examination. This course will introduce project management theories and terms, familiarize you with the PMBOK Guide, and identify techniques to use when studying for the CAPM test. PMP Certification Process Step 2 22 Application Process and Prices Register into the PMI website (http://www.pmi.org ) PMI membership (optional) costs 129 $ per year Compile the online Application form with detailed information about project management education and experience (90 days to complete) Ensure that all information entered in the application form can be documented (it can be audited by PMI) Submit the application form and wait for approval Perform the exam payment PMI members: 405 $ or 340 Non PMI members: 555 $ or 465 Source: PMP Handbook
PMP Certification Process Step 3 PMP Certification Exam 23 From the application form approval date, candidates have 1 year to pass the PMP Certification exam (3 trials allowed) The exam is performed at a Prometric examination site (reservation can be made online on www.prometric.com/pmi ) Computer-based testing (multiple-choice), 4 choices (only 1 correct) per question 200 questions (175 scored + 25 pretest). Pretest questions are randomly distributed throughout the 200 questions and cannot be recognized. Passing rate: 61% on 175 scored questions (106 correctly answered) 4 hours to complete. Breaks can be made but they don t stop the examination time Italian language aid available upon request Books, calculators, food, drinks, dictionaries, coats, watches etc. are NOT allowed during examination (they can be desposited outside the examination room).
