Company profile Seresco is a Spanish company dedicated to developing software solutions and supplying services within the field of Information and Communication Technologies. Founded in 1969, its headquarters are in Oviedo and currently has service centers in Madrid, Barcelona, Asturias and Galicia. Seresco is today an important group of professional services ranging from consulting to software development, as well as integration of management solutions, human resources or technical assistance in critical environments. Seresco also has specialized divisions in the areas of training and mapping services. Seresco s client portfolio consists of organizations from all sectors as well as various government agencies such as the Spanish Medicines Agency, the General Directorate of Cadastre, the General Treasury of Social Security, the regional governments of Asturias, Castile and Leon, Extremadura and Galicia and municipalities such as Gijon, Madrid and Vigo. Technical and human resources The number of staff in the year 2014 was 509 professionals, of whom 80% have higher or medium degrees and 20% are technicians-specialists. By sex, 56% are male and 44% female. The professional qualifications include: Computer, Geodesy, Industrial, Agricultural, Telecommunications Engineering, BA in Economics, Law, Geography and Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science and Surveying Technicians, Diploma in Business Studies and Social Work Graduate. The EFQM Model recognition scheme is a global management framework used by the main European organisations and was created to recognise organisations that follow an excellence-orientated strategy, and that have achieved their established objectives. This European Seal of Excellence is proof of Seresco s commitment to the continuous improvement of all of its fields of activity, and was awarded following the successful completion of a demanding assessment process. Company history Seresco is a national pioneer in the development of computer services and solutions. It was established as a corporation on May 3, 1969 by a group of industrialists in the region of Asturias. We should highlight the following among the key dates that have marked the history of the company: 1969 The company was incorporated under the name Asturiana de Informática, S.A. 1970 Training activities started with the first computer school in Asturias. 1973 The first branch opened in Galicia. 1984 IRIS, an integrated management system for SMEs, was launched. 1989 AIDA (Integrated Aid for the Development of Applications), a tool for the development of management applications, was launched. 1990 The company LAB2000 was set up in collaboration with IBM in order to develop advanced software. 1992 Development of the FX product platform (Iris FX, standard FX). 1998 A quality management system certification under the ISO 9001 Standard was obtained and the Madrid branch opened. 2002 Milena Personal, the new solution for payroll and human resources, was launched. 2003 Opening of the new Oviedo Vocational School (2,500 m 2 ). 2004 Marketing and training agreements with the multinational SAP. 2005 The W3C Office, the CTIC Foundation and the Asturias ICT Cluster were set up. 2006 The solution Milena Management was launched. Projects carried out Consultancy and Software Logo Project description ArcelorMittal Group. European supplier of the ArcelorMittal Group. Carrying out maintenance work in its applications park in the nearshore mode from our development centers in Oviedo and Vigo. The project covers all technologies available in the different factories and transverse systems (COBOL, Pacbase, SAP ABAP, JEE,.NET, Business Objects, ). For 2015, a work volume of between 45,000 and 50,000 hours is predicted. Xunta de Galicia (Galicia Regional Government) Maintenance of the Integrated Management System of the Department of Rural Development. This system represents the management core of the Department, and it allows for management of agricultural holdings, applications for aid, tracking and control of livestock production and, in general, support of agricultural policies established in the Autonomous Community. The system is supported by multiple technologies, from C++ to Java in the most recent modules. For the year 2015, a work volume of between 50,000 and 60,000 hours is predicted. Fondo Español de Garantía Agraria FEGA (Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund, an Organization depending on the Ministry of Agriculture) Customized development of an inspection system in the field that allows for verification at ground level of the aid applications associated with the Community's agricultural policy. This system is national in scope and is used by hundreds of inspectors during the processing period of these aids. It is developed based on ESRI technology for the Geographic Information System, complemented with developments in.net and Java for alphanumeric processing. Principality of Asturias Maintenance of the Agriculture Management System of the Department of Rural Development. This system supports the agricultural policies defined in the Autonomous Community. It was originally developed based on Oracle Developer technology, but in 2014 SERESCO undertook a project in technology modernization, involving the migration of the whole previous functioning to the Java environment. Cartography and Cadastre Since 1985 Seresco has been providing Cadastral Management services in rural renovation projects, urban updates, file processing, customer service, etc. to the Ministry of Finace through its Regional offices and directly to the Directorate General for Cadastre. International References Logo Project Description The Supply Department of the Republic of Costa Rica s National Register Administrative Office has awarded the public tender of a Cartographic expansion service based on cartography to the scale of 1:5,000 and the structure of the National Geographic Institute s Digital Topographic Data Base to the scale of 1:25,000, for the amount of $600,000 and with a completion timeframe of 24 months. Seresco has made an agreement with the State-Owned Metropolitan Company for Urban Development in Quito (belonging to the Municipality of Quito), to supervise the contract for the Construction, Design and Implementation of the Metropolitan Information System (SMI-Q) in the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito. The contract duration is 12 months and the cost is $100,701.22. Cartográfica de Canarias, S.A. (GRAFCAN) is the state-owned Canary Islands Government company in charge of planning, productive, operative, circulatory, and maintenance activities for geographical and territorial information of the Canary Islands, in accordance with the Canary Islands Government geographical policy. Grafcan awarded Seresco with a public tender for the Production of the topographic map to the scale of 1:5,000 and 1:1,000 for some areas of the Souss Massa Drâa region (Morocco).
