Wealth and Investment Management Financing Structured solutions as individual as you are

Singing Ringing Tree, by TONKIN, LIU, HILLTOP MUSICAL SCULPTURE, 2004.

Wealth what is it to you? We provide financing solutions that help you to acquire, diversify and leverage a wide range of assets, to provide you with short-term liquidity or to facilitate other family needs, such as estate planning. All the lending structures available from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management are designed to address your unique and sometimes complex financing needs. Whether you want to borrow personally or through an ownership entity, such as a trust or a private investment company, we can help you reach your short and long-term objectives. We will work with you to identify and structure a solution that works for you. With our advisory services, coupled with the financial strength of Barclays and access to our Corporate and Investment Banking divisions, you can make the most of what Barclays has to offer. 3

Liquidity solutions built around your needs We offer financing solutions that complement both your personal needs and individual risk profile. You might require liquidity on an unsecured basis where our Personal Finance service may suit your needs or wish to use your investment portfolio to facilitate a short-term funding need where our Portfolio Finance service might be appropriate. Whether your need is straightforward or more complex, Barclays Wealth and Investment Management can find the right solution for you. For more information on these services please see the summary on page 10. 4

Financing for asset purchase At Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, we can help you to finance your purchase of many types of assets. They could range from personal assets such as your home through to strategic investment assets. Whether you are seeking finance to facilitate a purchase, enable capital release, provide diversification of your investments or estate planning, our experts can help. Choose from our Property Finance service, Portfolio Finance service or a more tailored and innovative solution through our Specialist Finance service. 5

Using credit to make your assets work harder We can help you to leverage your investments so that they work harder. For more experienced clients, our Portfolio Finance service allows you to borrow cash without liquidating assets in your investment portfolio. You can borrow to meet short-term liquidity needs or to re-invest; to diversify and leverage your portfolio to trade on margin or use derivatives. You need to understand the risks and impact that could result from the use of leverage. 7

Benefiting from our innovation We have a depth and breadth of expertise in helping clients finance a wide variety of projects, pastimes and high-value purchases through our Specialist Finance service. Our clients benefit from the strength of Barclays, the availability of capital and access to our Corporate and Investment Banking divisions. So whether you need a solution that brings the strength of the divisions together to satisfy a personal or business need, or to disperse your investments across asset classes and jurisdictions, we offer the experience and knowledge to deliver. 8

Summary Portfolio Finance Tailored to your needs and circumstances, this service allows you to borrow money against your investment portfolio and use the capital in a way that best suits you. Use it for: Liquidity to buy that new car, to get a line of credit set aside for short-term borrowing, or to take advantage of an unexpected opportunity. Investment leverage to introduce strategic leverage to your investment portfolio, whether borrowing only for short-term liquidity or taking advantage of derivative trading lines and credit facilities. This high risk investment service is only suitable for experienced investors with an understanding of leverage and the impact it might have on the risk in your investment portfolio. Creating a trading line use derivatives within your investment portfolio, whether for an FX hedge or for strategic investment through a derivative structure. Our Portfolio Finance service is only suitable for experienced investors with an understanding of leverage, who are able to take additional risk in pursuit of higher returns, and who can afford the potentially higher losses that can result from a leveraged investment strategy. Interest payable on the lending may be greater than the return on the portfolio. In addition, if you are seeking to make use of a trading line for derivatives you will need to understand that derivatives may increase the risk in your investment portfolio. Derivative transactions can be speculative investments and you can either lose your entire investment or you could have future payment obligations within your investment portfolio. Property Finance We offer an extensive personal mortgage service to make buying a new home or investment property seamless and easy. Our financial strength, straightforward application process and range of products, means we can build a solution that meets your needs. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage Specialist Finance In addition to traditional lending we provide tailored solutions to fit your individual needs and unique circumstances. We offer a range of tailored lending solutions to facilitate wealth planning, including financing for entrepreneurial transactions. Personal Finance There could be occasions when you need extra liquidity on an unsecured basis. Perhaps you want to take up short-term opportunities or meet a liquidity need until an expected payment is received. Barclays Wealth and Investment Management may offer you a bespoke overdraft package or personal loan to suit your requirements. We can also provide a range of card accounts to meet your transactional, short-term financial needs, including a dedicated Wealth Card with personalised credit limits and the Barclays Visa Infinite Card, designed for an international lifestyle. 10
