The driver amplifier is a wideband, 1 khz to 4 GHz amplifier intended for use in broadband microwave and high data rate systems. The is a 3-stage high output power modulator driver amplifier that can provide up to +23 dbm saturated output (9 pp in a 5 system) with a 4 Gb/s input signal. The small footprint, high output voltage swing and very low DC power consumption (typ. <1.6 W) makes the an excellent choice for 4 Gb/s optical, test and measurement and general purpose use. Features Modulator driver amplifier for 4 Gb/s applications Small signal gain > 25 db with saturated output voltage up to 9 pp Additive RMS jitter < 75 fs (typ. 5 fs) Extremely fast rise/fall time < 1 ps Eye crossing percentage and gain control tunability Electrical Specifications Parameter Unit Min Typ Max Comments Maximum Data Rate Gb/s 43 Low Frequency Cutoff khz 1 High Frequency Cutoff (3 db) GHz 35 Small signal High Frequency Cutoff (6 db) GHz 4 Small signal Gain to 35 GHz db 25 Small signal Gain to 4GHz db 22 Small signal Output 1 db Compression dbm +1 +12 Frequency < 35 GHz Output Power Saturation dbm 23 25 Input power of +5 dbm @ 2 GHz Max.
