About the Speakers Tamra Lahmer, CPC, MSC-P, CPRP (Speaker for CPT/ICD-9 Beginning Coding and CPT/ICD-9 Coding) is a national consultant and speaker for Medical Business Institute, specializing in the areas of coding, billing and compliance. In addition to her national endeavors, she teaches medical billing, coding and medical transcription at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas. Tamra remains active in the billing and coding industry through her capacity as president of a Texas-based medical billing company. She holds national certifications in coding and compliance. Carol Mahon, PhD, (Speaker for OSHA Seminar and Strategic Planning for the Medical Practice) is the President and CEO of Medical Business Institute. She brings over 40 years of experience in the medical field to her role as lecturer/consultant. Dr. Mahon instructs physicians and staff on practice management techniques and also provides consulting services. Dr. Mahon is an adjunct professor at medical schools and teaching hospitals and, as such, teaches first- second-, and third-year residents the business side of medicine. As a lecturer/consultant for MBI, she presents seminars across the country on topics such as OSHA, coding, practice management, reimbursement, personnel policy, accounts receivable management, and key financial indicators.
