ABOUT NORTH MEMORIAL For more than 60 years, North Memorial has excelled in providing care to our patients across a wide spectrum of health needs. North Memorial Health Care is renowned for high-quality Level 1 trauma care, two award-winning hospitals, and a full range of primary and specialty clinics, outpatient centers, medical transportation, and home and community outreach.

THE NORTH MEMORIAL DIFFERENCE North Memorial Medical Center is among the select hospitals in the Upper Midwest with Level l Trauma Center verification the highest level a trauma center can achieve. Essentially, it means we have resources to treat every possible injury, making us a leader in the field of trauma care. Our two emergency departments are models for ERs all over the country. Patient rooms are designed for the best patient experience to provide privacy and dignity along with the best patient care. In addition, North Memorial has the only Minnesota-based ambulance service accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). When it comes to heart and vascular care, quick response time is crucial. Experts in our Heart & Vascular Institute open blocked arteries in an average of 43 minutes we rank within the top 5 percent in the United States. North Memorial Heart & Vascular Institute leads the way in providing quality cardiovascular care in the timeliest manner. We offer a wide range of cardiovascular diagnostic, invasive and rehabilitative services. North Memorial s Humphrey Cancer Center has provided compassionate and top quality cancer care to patients and their families for over 40 years. Our interdisciplinary health care team provides care programs specific to the patient s cancer diagnosis. Our advanced technologies and treatment regimens are supported by education, genetic counseling, prevention and rehabilitation, designed so that all the resources come together at one site, creating seamless patient services. North Memorial s Stroke Program is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center a designation awarded to stroke programs that effectively offer the most advanced treatment available for stroke patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, North Memorial s Intensive Aphasia Program (IAP) is one of only six IAP programs in the world. Our Surgical Services team s combination of skill, expertise and capability allows us to perform such cutting-edge surgical procedures as robotic-assisted surgery, renowned micro vascular re-attachment surgeries and anterior hip replacements. Physicians specialized in orthopedics, trauma, weight loss, urology, and cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries perform more than 10,000 inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures a year in 19 state-of-the-art surgical suites including an endovascular suite and lithotripsy. They are assisted by highly skilled registered nurses, surgical technicians, and anesthesia personnel. Our outcome quality measures put North Memorial Medical Center in the best of class, especially when it comes to outpatient core measures and patient satisfaction.

North Memorial Medical Center is one of the first hospitals in Minnesota to offer an inpatient CACE (Collaborative Acute Care for the Elderly) unit specifically designed to address the acute care needs of frail, aging adults. Our dedicated Joint Replacement Center specializes in knee, shoulder and hip replacement surgery. Our orthopedic surgeons at North Memorial Medical Center and Maple Grove Hospital have done more anterior total hip replacement surgeries than any other healthcare system in the state of Minnesota. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level III nursery, staffed by neonatologists from the University of Minnesota. We offer the highest level of care available for the most critically ill neonate. Our NICU is equipped with latest in technology and treatment options. We offer advanced respiratory care such as high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide with the support of our highly trained staff. Our Community Paramedic Program was one of the first in the nation. North Memorial s community paramedic program takes emergency-trained paramedics and puts them in the slow lane for a day or two a week. Instead of racing to the scene of accidents or emergencies, the medics make scheduled visits to the homes of frail and elderly patients, or those with chronic conditions like diabetes. Visits are coordinated through doctor offices and clinics, and supervised by emergency systems medical directors, as a way to prevent expensive emergency department treatments. North Memorial Urgency Centers provide treatment for a wide range of illnesses, injuries and conditions, many of which would traditionally be treated in an emergency room. The Urgency Center is staffed by North Memorial board-certified emergency physicians and delivers the same high-quality emergency care, yet at a lower cost than a hospital emergency room. Telehealth is a service that ensures patients in community hospitals have access to North Memorial s medical expertise. Using sophisticated technology that includes a computer and medical-grade camera, specialists at North Memorial can remotely assess and treat patients identified as requiring complex or emergency care, such as a stroke, virtually anytime. QUICK FACTS 2 Hospitals 2 Urgent Cares 14 Primary Care Clinics 2 Hospital Emergency Departments (ED) 100,000+ ED patients treated annually 5,000+ babies delivered annually 2 Urgency Centers Blaine & Minnetonka 518 licensed hospital beds and 42 bassinets North Memorial Medical Center 130 licensed hospital beds and 36 bassinets Maple Grove Hospital 5,000+ employees 900+ employed & affiliated physicians 630 volunteers donate over 75,000 hours each year 120 ambulances out of 27 bases 7 helicopters out of 6 bases
