CONTRACTOR PAYROLL ENTRY OPTIONS & COSTS There are options for Contractors to enter their payrolls into LCPtracker. We have the manual option and we have an uploading option with 3 mechanisms to choose from. Most Contractors with less than 15-20 employees may choose to do manual data entry. Those with more than 20 may wish to explore 3 mechanisms available for uploading payrolls. MANUAL ENTRY Everyone should know how to manually enter even those that choose to upload their records. You will choose the project you are about to enter payrolls for, the week end date for your payroll, employee name and their classification and choose Next. Contractors and subcontractors using LCPtracker predominately use the web data entry screens. It typically takes an average subcontractor about 1 minute per employee to enter a payroll record. Total subcontractor average time to enter an entire week s Certified Payroll Report (CPR) is 15 minutes. Subcontractors that have less than 20 employees will most likely choose the web data entry method. This method is a very simple process that allows a subcontractor to use the web forms and enter certified payroll data. Setup tables are used to increase efficiencies and to reduce any duplicate data entry steps. The basic steps for a contractor to utilize the web data entry screens are as follows: LCPtracker, Inc. DIRECT PAYROLL SUBSCRIPTION DPI The direct payroll system to interface LCPtracker will allow the use of existing export files from payroll systems as the upload source. Typically this will be the existing Certified Payroll Report (CPR) that is in an electronic format such as TXT, CVS or other file format (PDF). There will be no need for the contractor to do anything except provide LCPtracker s DPI staff this file. Signing up for DPI you will enter the User Portal and go to our Product Store, choose the Direct Payroll Interface (DPI) and Add to Cart, complete transactions and go back into your LCPtracker and proceed with Step 2 to submit samples. Our DPI Department will do the mapping. Once the model is complete you will be able to log into your LCPtracker account, go to Payroll Records and Upload Records. The basic steps for a contractor to utilize the direct payroll interface are as follows: Sends electronic file or report LCPtracker set-up map Upload and test first week s certified payroll SPREADSHEET TEMPLATE Contractors can enter CPR data into LCPtracker with a direct upload of all employee payroll data in one file. Contractors with more than 20 employees should consider this method. This can be accomplished by utilizing the spreadsheet provided by LCPtracker. This spreadsheet directly interfaces to the subcontractor s accounting system. A subcontractor will map the data from their accounting system to the spreadsheet provided. The contractor can then use the upload feature in LCPtracker to send the file with all employees at one time. (You will need to set up Craft Matching when using this option.) To utilize this option, go to Payroll Records, Upload Records and you will find the excel spreadsheet template which has directions and other information on it. For information on craft matching, there is a video tutorial under Contractor Training Videos titled DPI Craft Matching Tutorial or you may view a document under Contractor Support Docs titled Craft Matching (Required Function to use with Data Upload).
