HOW-TO Use the Active Directory Self Service Plus (ADSSP) In order to assist our users cope with the new Password Policy, ICT has installed an account Self Service module (ADSSP) that allows employees to personally change their passwords and unlock their accounts using a simple website. The following are instructions on how to perform the various tasks using ADSSP. 1.0 How to Login and Update Your details 1.1 Enter the following address into your web browser and login: http://acn.selfip.com Fig. 1.0 ADSSP homepage. 1.2 Enter your ACN.local account name (i.e. the account used to access your company email e.g. acn\ekerete.r) and your password, and click on the Login button. NOTE If you are logging-in for the first time, the following alert will be displayed. Click on the Yes button and follow the steps in Section 2, How to Configure Your Secret Questions and Answers Fig 1.1 ADSSP Secret Question and Answer alert. Revision 01.01 Page 1 of 6

1.3 On successful login, the following window will be presented Fig. 1.2 Manage your account window. 1.4 Please update the system with as much information as you feel comfortable supplying, in order to allow employees within the organization to contact you should the need arise. 2.0 How to Configure Your Secret Questions and Answers 2.1 Click on the Yes button when presented with the window from Step 1.2 or click the Reset Q&A link in the top left hand corner of the screen. Fig. 2.1 Reset Q&A link. 2.2 You will see your ACN account name listed next to the User Name text box, and the Domain Name should read ACN. If the information displayed does not match this please contact ICT ServiceDesk for further assistance. Tip Please pick a question that you will easily remember the answer to. 2.4 Enter the answer to your 1 st Security Question in the box on the right. Fig. 2.4 Example of Security Question & Answer. 2.5 Repeat Steps 2.2 to 2.3 to enter the 2 nd Security Question and its corresponding Answer. Revision 01.01 Page 3 of 6

2.6 Once you are satisfied, click on the Save button. Fig. 2.5 Completed Security & Answer example. 2.7 You will receive a confirmation message informing you that the process was successful. If you do not, please contact the ICT ServiceDesk for assistance. Fig. 2.6 Successful Question and Answer completion confirmation message. 3.0 How to Reset Your Password 3.1 Click on the Reset Your Password button. 3.4 If you have answered the Security Questions correctly, the following screen will be displayed. Enter your new password and confirm it, then click the Reset Password button. Fig. 3.4 Reset Password window. NOTE The new password must meet the following criteria It MUST be a minimum of 8 characters in length. It MUST meet 3 out of the 4 rules below: o Contain upper case characters o Contain lower case characters o Contain numbers o Contain special characters such as @, #, $, etc. It cannot be a repeat of any of the last 8 passwords you have used previously. It cannot bear resemblance to any part of your name. It cannot be changed less than 24hrs after you effected the last change. 3.5 If the new password has met the criteria above, a successful confirmation message will be displayed. Fig. 3.5 Successful Password Reset confirmation. 4.0 Unlock Your Account 4.1 Click on the Unlock Your Account button. Tip Remember the exact format of the original answers e.g. where there any spaces in your saved answer, etc. 4.4 If you have answered the Security Questions correctly, the following screen will be displayed. Click on the Unlock Account button. Fig. 4.4 Unlock Account window. 4.5 If the account was locked, the following message will be displayed otherwise please contact ICT ServiceDesk for assistance.
