Commencement Speaker 2020 Eric Holder FORMER U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will deliver the keynote address to the UCLA School of Law Class of 2020 at the law school s virtual commencement ceremony on May 15. Holder is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Covington & Burling and among the most accomplished and experienced lawyers in the country. He served as attorney general during the Obama administration, from 2009 to 2015. He is the first African American ever to serve as attorney general, and his six years in the position marked the third-longest tenure for an attorney general in U.S. history. Holder previously worked as an investigator and prosecutor of official corruption for the U.S. Department of Justice, as a judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. A native of New York City, he is a graduate of Columbia College and Columbia Law School. 2 Program of the 69th Commencement
