Feeling Safe in Staffordshire A community safety campaign from Staffordshire County Council, Staffordshire Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner Staffordshire. Introduction Staffordshire is a safe place to live. In fact there s less chance of being a victim of crime in Staffordshire than ever before. Anti-social behaviour and all types of crime are in the decrease, but indications show that the percentage of people in your area who are fearful of crime may be over 25%. There s a huge gap between people s fear of being of a victim of crime and actual levels of crime, and it s a problem that everyone work together to solve. Having a better quality of life isn t just about being safer; it s about feeling safer too. And Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner want to understand why these levels of fear exist in your area so we can then co-ordinate and improve the communication people receive about crime and preventative activities. We hope that this will help people to feel safer and help reassure people that they are safer from crime than they have ever been before.
