BHAIRAPPANAVAR Prashant Kumar Bhairappanavar has been an Examiner in the Trademarks and Geographical indications Registry at the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Chennai (India) since 2008. He enrolled as an advocate on the Roll of Bar Council of Karnataka in 2005 and worked as a senior consultant with the Law firm WinLexis, Legal Consultants (Corporate), in Bangalore from 2005 to 2008, in the IPR wing relating to trademarks and geographical indications. He has a Degree of Bachelor of Arts and Law from Karnataka University (India). ADRIANA BROUTIN ESPINOZA Adriana Broutin Espinoza is an Examiner of trademarks and other distinctive signs at the Intellectual Property Register in San José (Costa Rica). She has a Master degree in Law and Registry from the Latin University in Costa Rica, and is currently completing her thesis in Intellectual Property at the Austral University. She began teaching this year in different educational institutions in Costa Rica, such as the Latin University. Furthermore, she provides support on trademarks to small and medium businesses, through the CATI (Support Center Technology and Innovation) in Costa Rica.

page 3 TANGUY CHEVER Tanguy Chever is a Consultant at AND International (France). AND International works exclusively in the areas of agriculture, food processing, aquaculture, fisheries and the maritime industry, both in France and internationally. The company mainly provides public policy evaluations, sectoral surveys, strategic and prospective studies, economic information, training and consultancy. Tanguy has gained experience in the field of geographical indications through different studies conducted internationally, including studies estimating the value of products with a European geographical indication for the European Commission, studies on the French and European wine-growing sectors, and a study on the PDO dairy sector. FLEURETTE COETZEE Fleurette Coetzee is Senior Manager of the Trademarks Division of the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) in South Africa. She has been involved in the field of trademarks since she completed her legal studies in November 1991, when she was seconded by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to SAPTO (the South African Patents and Trade Marks Office), as a legal administration officer in the Trade Marks Division. In July 1996, she was appointed as Assistant Registrar: Patents, Trade Marks, Copyright and Designs. In June 1998, she joined the MIH Group as the Group Trade Marks Manager. In August 2003, she returned to CIPRO as a consultant in the Trade Marks Division. Before she was appointed in her current position, Ms. Coetzee was appointed as the Interim Manager Trade Marks, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operational administration and management of the entire Trade Marks Division in CIPRO.

page 4 ELIO DE TULLIO Elio De Tullio is Managing Partner of De Tullio and Partners, representing several consortia for the Protection of Protected Appellations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications, in particular the Consortium for the Protection of Provolone Valpadana PDO Cheese. Attorney-at-Law specialized in Intellectual Property, he is Deputy Secretary General of the Italy-Argentina Chamber of Commerce (CaCIA) and member of the Board of Directors of the Italy-Caribbean and Antilles Chamber of Commerce. Elio represents the International Trademark Association (INTA) in the working groups set up by OHIM for supporting the activities of the EU Observatory on infringements of IPRs and is Chair of the homonymous Task Force. He is member of the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Chair of the Task Force on IP Infringement on the Internet. He is also a member of the Geographical Indications Committee at ECTA and AIPPI and cooperates as an expert with WIPO and the European Commission. Elio is a frequent speaker in intellectual property matters and the author of several publications and articles on intellectual property. TANYA DUTHIE Tanya Duthie is Assistant Director of IP Australia s International Policy and Cooperation Section, which has responsibility for providing advice to the Australian Government on international intellectual property (IP) policy along with managing international arrangements, relationships and projects. She worked in various positions in IP Australia dealing with domestic and international industrial property law and practice. She has represented Australian positions in numerous international fora and negotiations on IP rights and geographical indications in particular, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and bilateral and plurilateral free trade agreements. Tanya Duthie represented Australia s views during the negotiations on the revision of the Lisbon system.

page 5 BENJAMIN FONTAINE Benjamin Fontaine is currently the Chair of the Geographical Indications Committee of ECTA (European Communities Trademark Association) and a member of the ECTA-OHIM Link Committee. He is a registered Intellectual Property attorney since 2003 (CNCPI, France) and a solicitor admitted to the Alicante Bar (Spain) since 2005. He holds law degrees from the University of Orléans (France) and from the University of Alicante, as well as a Master in Intellectual Property (Magister Lvcentinvs, Alicante). Benjamin is a partner at E.G.Y.P., where he is in charge of the Alicante branch office. He has extensive experience in trademark prosecution and litigation, particularly in France and with the OHIM. His field of practice also extends to industrial design, unfair competition, copyright law and domain name litigation. He is the author of a number of publications and a regular speaker on issues related to Geographical Indications, and particularly their interaction with trademark rights. DANIEL J. GERVAIS Daniel Gervais is Professor of Law at Vanderbilt University Law School and Director of the Vanderbilt Intellectual Property Program. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of World Intellectual Property and editor of www.tripsagreement.net. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, he was the Acting Dean, University Research Chair in Intellectual Property at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa (Common Law Section). Before he joined the Academy, Prof. Gervais was successively Legal Officer at the GATT (now WTO); Head of Section at WIPO; and Vice-President of Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC). Dr. Gervais studied computer science and law at McGill University and the University of Montreal, where he also obtained LL.B. and LL.M. degrees, and received several awards. He also received a Diploma summa cum laude from the Institute of Advanced International Studies in Geneva and a doctorate magna cum laude from the University of Nantes (France). In 2012, he became the first law professor in North America elected to the Academy of Europe. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute.

page 6 MICHEL GONOMY Michel Gonomy is an executive in the Department of Assistance to the Director General, in charge of the geographical indications program at the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI). This program is designed to promote the establishment, development and administration of geographical indications in the Member States of OAPI. As the person in charge of the program, he develops, coordinates and monitors, under the supervision of the Director General, the strategies of valuation of local products and their recognition as geographical indications. A lawyer, Mr. Gonomy holds a Master in Intellectual Property Law jointly organized by the OAPI Intellectual Property Academy Dénis Ekani, the WIPO Academy and the University of Yaounde 2 / Soa. MIGUEL ANGEL MEDINA Miguel Angel Medina is Council member of MARQUES (The European Association of Trade Mark Owners) and of the MARQUES Geographical Indications Team and correspondent of its newsletter for Spain. He is an Associate partner and IP Lawyer at the Elzaburu Law Firm in Spain. He is specialized in trademarks, geographical indications, domain names, unfair competition and related matters and has advised a wide range of multinational firms and organizations. He has a Law degree, a Psychology degree, and masters in Legal Practice and in Tax and Consultancy, and is a Certified Executive Coach. He collaborates as a teacher at Law schools on topics relating to trademarks and geographical indications and is a frequent speaker at national and international events on those topics. He is the author of several publications.

page 7 ÓSCAR MONDÉJAR Óscar Mondéjar is Head of the Legal Practice Service at OHIM s International Cooperation and Legal Affairs Department. After working in the private sector, he joined OHIM in 1997 where he has occupied different positions. He also acts as an agent before the General Court and the Court of Justice. Óscar holds a law degree, a master s degree in International Trade and a diploma in advanced legal studies in EU Law. He is also is a frequent speaker on trademarks and on geographical indications issues. WILSON ALEXANDER PARRA PEÑA Wilson Alexander Parra Peña works at Artesanías de Colombia as Project Coordinator in Implementation of Intellectual Property Rights in handicrafts in Colombia". He is graduated in Modern Languages and a lawyer specialized in Industrial Property, Copyright and New Technologies from the Externado University of Colombia. He also holds a degree in International Cooperation and Project Management from the same university. He is currently pursuing a Master in Intellectual Property at the University of Los Andes. Wilson Alexander followed a training course on Appellations of origin at INTERGI. He was part of the mission Training Public Support Networks in the Solidarity Sector at the University of Valencia, Spain and received a grant from JICA to meet Japan's experience OVOP project. He has spoken on issues of Intellectual Property applied to the Crafts in academic events at the national and international levels.

page 8 SUPHAT SAQUANDEEKUL Suphat Saquandeekul is currently Deputy Director General of the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, a position to which he was appointed in July 2015. He began his career as an economist within the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. Between 1991 and 1998, Mr. Saquandeekul exercised the function of First Secretary (Commercial) in the Office of Commercial Affairs at the Royal Thai Embassy in Canada, in Japan and as Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy in Indonesia. He also worked as Counsellor (Commercial) in the Office of Commercial Affairs at the Thai Mission to the European Union. From 2004 to 2008, he was Director of the Thai Trade Center in Sydney, before being appointed, from 2008 to 2012, successively as Executive Director of the Bureau of ASEAN Affairs and of the Bureau of American, European and African Affairs at the Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce. Before joining the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Mr. Saquandeekul held a post of Executive Director at the Thai Trade Center in Osaka. ATTILA SIMON Attila Simon has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, since 2005, where he has worked in various positions. He started his career as a Barrister at the attorney Office Veszprém (Hungary). Attila Simon holds a degree in Law and Political Sciences from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences and a degree in European Law Science from the Law Extension Institute of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. He also earned a Professional judiciary examination. He has held the functions of chairman or member of numerous boards and commissions. He also collaborated as an outside lecturer at the University of Veszprém and Pannon on the legal system and harmonization of law of the European Communities. He received the honor of the Gold cross of Merit in 2013 and the Pro Comitatu Award in 2014, and is an honorary Associate professor of the University of Pannon.

page 9 PHILIP SLOAN Philip Sloan is currently Chair of the Geographical Indications Subcommittee, one of three subcommittees forming the International Trademark Association (INTA) Related Rights Committee. He has actively participated in the INTA for over 20 years and since 2001 has been a member of committees and subcommittees within INTA dedicated to geographical indications issues. He served as Vice Chair of the INTA Geographical Indications Committee in 2006 to 2007, Chair in 2008 to 2009. Philip Sloan is a UK solicitor and a partner in the law firm Sloan Plumb Wood LLP of Peterborough, England. He has specialized in intellectual property for over 30 years and has acted for UK and overseas clients in a wide range of industries in disputes relating to many forms of intellectual property including patents, designs, trademarks and passing off, copyright, database right and geographical indications. MASSIMO VITTORI Massimo Vittori is the Managing Director of origin, in charge of the Organization s strategic planning and overall management. He previously worked as legal advisor at the International Trade Center (ITC) a technical assistance agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations where he was in charge of several projects in the field of intellectual property, trade law harmonization, model contacts for SMEs and alternative business dispute resolution mechanisms. Massimo also worked at the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on the improvement of developing countries investment climate through regulatory reforms. Following his Bachelor Degree in International Relations, Massimo obtained a Master s Degree in International Law at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property at the University of Turin. Massimo regularly delivers seminars on GIs, trademarks and trade- related issues in several European Universities. [End of document]
