Management Information Report 3 1. OVERVIEW This document has been prepared in advance of the BIS claims review board meeting board meeting on 5 th June 215. Statistics are provided across the caseload handled on behalf of BIS by Simpson & Marwick Solicitors LLP/Simpson & Marwick.

Overall trends are shown, followed by a breakdown by disease type (including a focus on deafness) and originating region. Within each sub-section, the number of claims currently open is detailed. 2.2. This is with the exception of deafness claims which, due to their unique pattern, are analysed separately. Management Information Report 14 Since the inception of the claims portal in August 214, 15 claims have been raised. Of these, 4 claims have settled and 32 have exited the portal. In three cases, the claimant solicitor has failed to submit to the portal. 4.1.
