Overview The right thing to do! This process may have started because of the A133 audit finding, however its not the driving force. The University has an opportunity, and responsibility, to improve our student employee experience by implementing common hourly hiring practices across all of our departments.

Overview Next Phase Implementing Best Hiring Practices Next Steps Continued development of best practices - Establish broad hourly pay ranges - Returning student hourly wage (what is a reasonable raise?) - Differential based on class level, grad status, etc. - Other ideas based on hiring department input

How does this impact me? Implementing Best Hiring Practices Fall 2015 Create and implement new Student Job Profiles and Position Descriptions - Job Profile was formerly known as Job Code Classification (JCC) - Review 30+ new descriptive Hourly Undergraduate and Graduate Job profiles Create hourly student hiring materials which validate the student rate of pay and attach documentation when adding jobs in Workday - Application - Email notification from hiring manager/department - Offer letter - Workday auto-generated email, effective May 2015

How does this impact me? Job Profile Changes Retiring old job profiles 7013 & 8003 Created new job profiles for undergraduate and graduate hourly positions. New profile descriptions can be found at: CMUWorks Service Center http://www.cmu.edu/cmuworks/ Career and Professional Development Center http://www.cmu.edu/career/studentemployment/campus-employers/index.html
