Before you board our steamers Generally Our ships are culturally and technically valuable historical ships certified as such by Statens Maritima museer (the State Maritime Museum) and traditionally classified. All the crew is voluntary and unpaid and all income goes directly to the maintenance of the ships. To avoid unpleasantness on board when the weather is rough, the route might be changed or the journey shortened. The ships are not adapted for disabled people, but wheelchairs can be taken on board. BOHUSLÄN has a cafeteria and restaurant fully licensed. Dogs are not allowed in the cafeteria and restaurant areas. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the ships. Sällskapet Ångbåten reserves the rights to change routes or cancel trips due to natural obstacles or other causes out of our control. Tickets Tickets can be bought in advance through Ticketmaster, www.ticnet.se, www.ticketmaster.se or order by telephone 0771-707070. Tickets bought in advance must be presented 15 minutes before departure. Remaining tickets are sold at the gangway before departure. Quay in Göteborg During 2016 we depart from our quay at Stenpiren, except for the month of june when we depart från berth 22 near Järntorget. Nearest tram- or bus stop is Stenpiren. Parking lots can be found in the vicinity. As a passenger aboard the steamship BOHUSLÄN you contribute to preserving the last genuine coast steamer on the west coast of Sweden. Evening tour in the Göteborg archipelago Wednesdays June 1 September 14 From Göteborg 18.30, return time 21.45 BOHUSLÄN takes you through the harbour, passing the old fortress Nya Älvsborg on the way towards Hjuvik and Kalvsund in the northern archipelago. The journey continues inside Öckerö and Hönö out over Vinga sand towards the southern archipelago. BOHUSLÄN goes through Snobbrännan (the Posh straight) between Styrsö and Brännö, passing Saltholmen and Långedrag before entering the Göta Älv and the harbour again. The Day of the Herring on Klädesholmen Monday June 6 - the Swedish National Day On the National Day the community Klädesholmen is celebrating The Day of the Herring. There are activities concerning herring and the herring industry and BOHUSLÄN takes you to visit this event. There is no stop at Marstrand on this trip. Tour around Tjörn Sunday July 3 and July 17 From Skärhamn 11.00, return time 15.00 During the month of june we depart från berth 22 near Järntorget. BOHUSLÄN goes towards Nösund and continues on Stigfjorden between Orust and Tjörn. We pass Skåpesund and under the Tjörn bridge out on Hakefjorden. Then we pass Älgö gavel, Dyrön, Åstol and Klädesholmen and continue out on Hjärteröfjorden back to Skärhamn. Departure: July 2 the steamer quay in Mollösund. The tour passes Stångehuvud and Kornöarna, Malmön, Smögen and Kungshamn before reaching the canal Sotekanalen, the sheltered fairway inside the open waters of Sotefjorden. During the festival there are wooden boats in the water and on shore, crude oil motors, model boats and various things belonging to the coastal culture. Exhibitions and entertainment. You can also visit the maritime museum (Sjöfartsmuseet) and the store house belonging to the sailing ship ATENE. There is no stop at Marstrand on these trips. There are enormous red granite slabs, and endless horizon and nice patches of grass and beaches for visits ashore. The steamer will be open for visitors in the Saturday afternoon and in the evening you can join a 3-hour evening tour before you catch the last regular bus (Västtrafik) back to Göteborg. On Sunday we make a 3-hour tour towards Älgö. If you take an early bus from Göteborg, you might even have time for sightseeing and swimming. Marstrands Sekelskiftesdagar (the Centenary days) Saturday August 20 and Sunday August 21 Göteborg-Marstrand and back. From Göteborg 10.00, return time 19.30 During the Centenary days Marstrand are brought back more than 100 years in time to the end of the 19th century, when king Oscar II spent the summers in Marstrand. A day tour to The Museum of Rope-making in Älvängen Sunday September 11 From Göteborg 10.00, return time 17.30 BOHUSLÄN goes upstream Göta älv. We can see the railway bridge at Marieholm and the work sites where preparations are made for a new tunnel under the river. We pass Surte and the Jordfall bridge and see the fortress Bohus. Historical harbour tours 2015 with Färjan 4 The only steam ferry in the Gothenburg harbour. Coal-fired and culturally certified. Saturdays in September and October From Eriksberg at 13.30 From Residensborn 14.00 The tour starts at 13.30 from The Dock pier at Eriksberg and at 14.00 from the ferry quay Residensbron at Packhusplatsen. (Bus/tram stop Stenpiren). Our guide will tell us about what we can see during the tour, sights that only can be seen from the river. Enjoy Gullbergskajen and Ringön at close quarters. See the new buildings along the river banks. The journey makes a stop for a guided walk ashore at: Klippan September 3 and 24, October 15 Götaverken September 9, October 1 and 22 Slottsberget September 17, October 8 and 29 There is no toilet on board.
