Crew List Please make sure that you have filled out your crew list. It is extremely important that we know who is on each yacht. If you do not do this you will have issues with your insurance. Login to your booking with your address and password and use our Facebook ap-plication to add your crew. What To Pack? There isn t much need for special sailing gear, but you should bring the obvious swimming clothes, sunscreen and sunglasses. Weather in the Mediterranean is warm, the important things to remember are: Pack your stuff in a soft bag it is easier to store on board. Don t bring too much luggage. The space for stowing personal stuff is pretty limited on a yacht. There are towels and sheets on board, but bring an extra towel for the beach. There will be official Yacht Week clothing on sale at very good prices throughout the week. Page 3

4 INSURANCE The yacht insurance is issued by the charter company and is a hull insurance. The insurance covers damages to the boat which ex-ceed the deposit amount. Insurance papers should be stored with the boat documents and should be with the clients at all times when on the boat. Damages to the boat which are less than the value of the deposit will be deducted from your deposit, unless they are due to the general wear and tear of the boat. Login to your booking to see the deposit amount. The cost of damages within the deposit amount will either be covered by you as the customer or your skipper depending on the type of damage. See the examples below: Example 1: A member of the crew/guest turns on the fridge without notifying the skipper, which leads to damaged/drained batteries that need to be replaced. The cost will be covered by the crew/guests. Example 2: A member of the crew/guest uses the dinghy. The dinghy is lost or stolen while used by the guest. The cost of a new dinghy with or without outboard engine will be paid by the crew/guests. Example 3: A guest on board the yacht clogs the toilet with toilet paper. The cost of the repair is the crew s responsibility if the skipper has informed the crew not to do this. Example 4: There is a small scratch on the yacht caused by hitting the marina wall when mooring up. The skipper would cover the cost of the damage. It is a good idea for all crew members to agree that the whole group will absorb equal parts of the damage if one individual is accountable. See the examples below. Example 5: If the yacht s dinghy or fender is lost during the week and there is confusion regarding who lost it, ALL crew members share the cost of the loss. Page 4

5 PERSONAL TRAVEL INSURANCE All crew members must have personal travel insurance valid for the duration of their trip. We have partnered with World Nomads. MONEY You should change your money to Kunas as Euros are not used in Croatia and anything paid for in foreign currency will be far more expensive. Most of the bars and clubs on the islands do not accept cards. Cash is king! Page 5

9 TRANSFER Upon arrival at Split Airport you will be greeted by TYW staff (between 8am-4pm) who will show you how best to get to your marina. In order to do this in the most efficient manner we need each crew to fill out their arrival and departure details in their booking. TYW has arranged optional mini van transfers to and from the marinas at peak hours of the day, which we would recommend since there are few taxis during busy periods. The transfer mini van, as well as most taxis, is cash only. Page 9

10 THE YACHT WEEK WRISTBAND You can order the wristband in your booking. You will not be able to attend TYW events without the wristband. All wristbands need to be pre-paid. The wristband includes entrance fees to: Outdoor party in Fort George on Vis, Vis Island Beach Club Aquarius on Komiza, Vis Island After beach party at Carpe Diem on Hvar Night Club at Hvar in the evening Open air party on Solta Regatta party at Aurora Club Pool party in Frapa Club CHECK-IN When you arrive at the marina you will see members of TYW Staff and they will show you where the check-in takes place, where the meeting points are to meet your skippers and of course answer any question you may have. At 2pm you will meet your skipper at the TYW Meeting Point and he will take you through the check-in procedure. The skipper will then take the booker to the appropriate yachting agency, where you will have to present all paperwork and your deposit. Check-in time for the boats on Saturday is from 2pm to 5pm, but may be completed earlier for some boats depending on when the boat is cleaned and made ready. Check-in must be completed before sunset, otherwise it has to be done the following morning (but you can still sleep on the yacht). Boats leave between 4pm and 6pm. Page 10

11 HOW DOES THE CHECK-IN WORK? Only the skipper and booker do the actual check-in. If you have a professional skipper then the booker should go with them in order to pay the deposit*. At The Registration: A deposit is handed over of depending on the boat*. Cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. An ATM is available in the marina. The deposit amount will be returned to you, barring any breaches of the contract between you and the charter company. Skipper license and VHF license are verified along with passports of the whole crew. Remember to bring original copies! CHECK-OUT Check-out is done Friday night or Saturday morning. All boats have to be back at the marina by 6pm at the latest on Friday. You have to leave your boat at 9am on Saturday but you are free to leave earlier as the check-out can be done on the Friday night. Page 11

Go for a walk around the town, go to the beach or have drinks on your boat. Dinner on board (if you cook) or at a restaurant in town. Make your way to The Yacht Week party. 13 A typical night goes as follows: No loud music on your boat after 10pm if moored in a port. No music at all after parties if local people might be disturbed. FOOD SUPPLY We recommend you to stock up with supplies before leaving on Saturday. Supermarkets are available at all marinas. Our staff will point you in the right direction. Along the route you will also come across various markets, where you can re-stock. Purchase enough food for at least 2 lunches, lots of beverages (water), salt, pepper and basic kitchen inventories. To help you out, we have arranged Food & Drink Packages. Please note: If you have an professional skipper provided by The Yacht Week, then you are responsible for providing his or her food for the week, whether it be on board or in a restaurant. We want the skippers to enjoy their time too. Make sure you treat your skipper like part of the crew! FOOD & DRINK PACKAGES We have partnered with a yacht supply company to build three fabulous grocery packages to suit your needs for the most effortless of sailing holidays. We expect you will want to sample the local cuisine and fabulous restaurants on offer, so taking this into mind, we have created these tailored packages, which are delivered straight to the marina and designed to help you settle in with the right pro-visions to get you going. 14 HOSTESSES Don t forget to think about the option of having a hostess. If you are looking for the ultimate holiday, don t miss this opportunity. MUSIC AND ELECTRICITY All yachts have a car radio with CD-player and speakers installed. However, finding a line-in on the equipment is rare, so your best bet for playing your own music is to bring CD s (if you still use any) or bring an FM-transmitter for your portable music player. Power on board is 12V with cigarette plug outlet, which is charged via the engine generator or a connection to the land grid. There is usually a 230V C-type outlet on board as well, but it only supplies power when you are connected to the land grid when in the harbors. This means that it is only possible to power appliances such as cell phone chargers and hairdryers when you are in a marina with a power connection, unless you have a 12V charger (the type you would use in a car). If you really need 230V power when you are not berthed in a marina with a power connection, you can bring a DC/AC inverter. Therefore, you will need to use an inverter and adapter. Inverters are similar to what is used in a car cigarette lighter. These should be pur-chased before coming on the boat. SAFETY & RULES Keep in mind you will be travelling to various islands where medical treatment is limited, we recommend you take extra care throughout the week. Make sure you and your fellow crew members behave appropriately in the marinas. Marinas can fine you for excessive noise or misconduct.
