Saimaa University of Applied Sciences Ltd Saimaa UAS is maintained by Saimaan ammattikorkeakoulu Oy, a limited company owned by the South Karelia municipalities and Lappeenranta University of Technology. Saimaan ammattikorkeakoulu Oy's (Saimaa University of Applied Sciences Ltd) turnover is EUR 22.0 million in 2013. The balance sheet total is EUR 27.0 million.

Campuses The campuses of Saimaa University of Applied Sciences are located in Lappeenranta and Imatra. Lappeenranta Imatra Skinnarila Campus technology, health and social care, business administration Linnala Campus tourism and hospitality and fine arts

Lappeenranta Academic Library The joint research library of Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and Lappeenranta University of Technology was opened in August 2011. The Academic Library has premises on two campuses, Skinnarila in Lappeenranta and Linnala in Imatra. The library covers the disciplines of technology, economics and business administration, health and social sciences and arts, with approximately 150,000 titles. The electronic collection includes 180 databases, ebooks, magazines and reference books. The newspaper room subscribes to approximately 900 journals. The number of employees is 21, and the library has approximately 1,000 users per day. The Lappeenranta Academic Library is also open to the general public.

Students Every year, approximately 600 students graduate from Saimaa University of Applied Sciences Total number of students 3,200 697 international students, of which 458 are degree students and 239 exchange students (year 2012) Attraction In the national joint application for Finnish-language education 1340 students applied to Saimaa UAS in the spring 2014 as their first choce (total number of applicants was 3340). There were 4.0 primary applicants for each study place The highest number of applicants was for health and social care

RDI The research development and innovation activities of Saimaa UAS: serve local business and industry and public sector organisations diversify education foster the UAS's contacts with society support the transition that business and industry and the public sector in the Lappeenranta and Imatra region are undergoing support the growth and internationalisation of small and medium-size businesses. The volume of Saimaa UAS's RDI was EUR 4.0 million in 2012.

Student counselling one can apply for the UAS or university after completing upper secondary education (either the national matriculation examination or the the vocational qualification) Adult students can study part time and combine working and studying.

Our financing is based on results so helping the student to study quickly and efficiently is vital for us. Our strenght is our small size: we have a system where every student has a tutorteacher who knows this students situation well and will help if needed. We also have student-tutors + class eldest Tutor-teachers get training for tutoring + we have tutor-teacher handbook
