HOW IT WORKS GENERA CHARACTERISTICS This type of indicator working on communicating vessels principle, is designed for side installation, from outside the tank containing the liquid to be monitored. The liquid level inside the tank, is the same as inside the indicator, and it is relieved by means of a float positioned inside it. The float position and then the liquid level are transmitted outside the tank by means of a magnet built in the float, which during its transit causes the rotation of double colored flags chain sealed into a Polycarbonate transparent housing. The braking point between the two colors supplies the required information. The perfect separation between indicator and media, guarantees the utmost operational safety, and allows the best readability from virtually any distance. The float is compensated with the purpose of allowing it to operate with very high pressures without damages caused by its compression. The float can be equipped with different types of magnets, and can work starting from densities of 0,5 g/cm3. The double colored flags chain is sealed inside the Polycarbonate cover and therefore perfectly isolated from the external environment as warranty of good long term visibility from significant distance. A light alloy version for use with media at high temperature is available (300 C). Calibration operations are not necessary, and the flags rotation give a secure indication of the liquid level without energy consumption. The magnet inside the float is capable of acting one or more magnetic switches located outside the shell by means of adequate stainless steel bands. Further, optional magnets located inside the float, can extend the action angle up to 360. This allows to locate contacts or/and a transmitter, in every necessary points along the shell, with easier installation. This kind of float is particularly suggested in all those applications where a close deadband between switch actuation and deactuation is requested. The following switches are available; weatherproof with cable, with IP 65 housing or DIN connector, Explosionproof versions for use in Hazardous area. When monitoring is necessary, a reed chain inside stainless steel housing is available; its length will be in line with the customer s needs. Contacts will be actioned one by one at float transit and the chain will work as a voltage partition, with an output proportional to the change in level. This chain, which can be equipped with 4 20 ma converter, allows a real time level indication, with a standard resolution of about mm (the distance between two reed contacts). If requested, a better resolution is available.
