Analysis on European landscape & Match making tool for Photonics Industry & Research
Contents Topic of this presentation Photonics21 Projects supporting Photonics21 Analysis on European landscape Matchmaking Possible role of clusters
Topic of this presentation Large amount of detailed & strategic information has been collected, on European scale, of Photonics Industry and Research Sharing this information, and results from analyses, will be benificial to both clusters and EU (via Photonics21): Updated overview of national and European landscape Enabling Match-making Facilitating Strategic Research Agendas (EU and national) Cooperation between clusters and Photonics21: Exchange of information Communication channel: EU-national-regional-local levels
Photonics21: European Technology Platform Goal: to establish Europe as a leader in the development and deployment of Photonics in specific industrial areas Means: Supply research environment Establish strategic links Foster co-operation
Supporting Projects 2005-2008: OPERA2015 Partners: VDI, Enterprise Ireland, IMEC, TNO, MHAST, IDeTra, Optics Valley, UK-CPO, EPIC, EOS Objective: to provide a platform for adequate interaction of European IST-research in Optics and Photonics and to develop and implement a joint strategy for research and industry. Results: SRA (=joint effort), first inventory of industry & research 2009-2011: Phorce21 Partners: VDI, Enterprise Ireland, IMEC, TNO, Optics Valley, EOS Objective: supports ETP Photonics21 in the development of strategies through roadmapping, consensus building and coordination to: overcome fragmentation bundle resources achieve the critical mass for competitive innovation increase transparency on Photonics capabilities in Europe.
