Select the Citrix RA connection and you will be presented with a screen asking you to authenticate. Enter your normal Network user name and password. Once you have successfully logged in you will be presented with a list of applications that you are entitled to use. e.g Network Drives, Microsoft Office etc. Select the option you wish to use. If prompted select OK to install the App. If you get presented with another login box, please make sure you have followed all of the steps in the RemoteApp Help section.
(You will only need to install the app once on your PC\Device of choice. If you change your PC\Device at any time, you will need to install the app again. This is the same as the previous citrix set up as well). YOU ONLY NEED TO CLICK ONCE ON EACH FOLDER TO INSTALL THE APP Once Remote App is installed you will then see specific drives you are allowed to access, e.g your own Home drive or Students Common. In this example Students Common has been selected and from here the correct files and folders can be accessed. Again the Remote App install pop up will again be displayed:
If you wish to come out of Students Common and go back to the main Desktop screen, minimise the Students Common drive and connect to another App from the main desktop. You can use the up option to go to the main screen with apps to choose from.

In our example, we have chosen to launch Microsoft Word 2007. Within the Main App desktop. Select Microsoft Office : You will be presented with the whole suite of MS Office Professional 2007, giving you word, excel, powerpoint etc. Select Microsoft Word. Before Word launches it will ask you to click on OK to close the dialogue box:
After a second or two, if you are presented with a warning screen this is only the computers way of telling you that you are doing something out of the ordinary across the internet and that you should take care. As a department, your ICT team have taken every precaution to make this service as safe as possible and you should not be alarmed by this message. Click on the connect button at the bottom of the window and carry on. After a brief moment, your remote application will open and you can work as if you were sat at your computer in the school. You have full functionality of the application and you can open, print & save directly from there. You can then close the application in the normal way. When you return to the College and log on to a normal PC\Laptop that does not require RDS remote access, the files and content created at home will be stored and accessed as normal from your desktop. Please remember to log out of the web interface, after use, so that other users can log in.
