Institute of Directors (IoD) Development Programmes Exceptional programmes for exceptional people

Leeds Business School holds an exclusive regional franchise to deliver Institute of Director (IoD) programmes and has been a recognised provider of executive governance programmes for over 20 years. Located in a vibrant student city and major European regional business centre, Leeds Business School has an established reputation for excellence in the field of governance and strategic management thinking. This provides the ideal setting for the development of an innovative and challenging programme focusing on the analysis of crucial leadership issues and the provision of practical workable solutions. The benefits of the programme The IoD and Leeds Business School offer a series of unique director programmes, the Certificate in Company Direction and the Diploma in The programmes are specifically designed to help directors improve their personal and professional effectiveness and promote the continued success of their business. The uniqueness of our programme is you! All learning and development sessions are delivered on a structured yet informal basis. They are designed to provide maximum opportunity for directors to participate, discuss and develop issues with their peers. One of the unique features of the programme is that it enables you to develop your network, share ideas and learn from the practical experiences of other likeminded business leaders. Delegates on the programme often come from a very wide spectrum of business backgrounds and bring a plethora of practical experience and knowledge to the programme. This allows you to gain a much broader perspective of critical issues facing management today. Few other programmes can boast such a select and motivated clientele. Centre for the Institute of Directors (IoD) Development Programmes for over 20 years The programmes are made up of short practical courses which offer the latest in business thinking and explore many critical issues facing senior professionals. To meet the more pragmatic needs of business leaders particular attention is paid to mounting legal responsibilities, duties and liabilities that face directors. The programme also provides directors with the essential foundations to go on to achieve the coveted Chartered Director status. IoD Development Programmes 0113 812 7550

The Programme is ideal for: Directors wanting to develop their knowledge and skills before joining the board. Newly appointed directors wishing to establish their role and responsibilities on the board. Experienced directors wanting to bring best practice to their companies and gain up-to-the minute knowledge across a range of key business issues. Aspiring executives Those who have benefited from the course The programme has been seen to address the needs of prospective, newly appointed and experienced directors from all sizes of organisations. Delegates are made up of senior executives, directors and owner managers from public bodies, charities and family businesses through to multi-nationals. This wide diversity is one of the main strengths of the programme. Interested in a single module? If you are interested in attending a single module, perhaps wishing to broaden your experience and understanding of a specialist area rather than acquire a qualification, you can attend the modules individually, without enrolling onto the full programme. Fay Treloar, Head of Operations, Science City York Since joining Science City York as Head of Operations in 2006, Fay Treloar has been responsible for managing the company s marketing, HR, research and finance functions. Recently as part of her continued professional development Fay embarked upon the IoD s Company Direction programme with Leeds Business School. The programme is designed to address critical aspects of the boardroom and provides directors with both the leadership thinking tools and the space to reflect on the workings of the board and as such was an obvious choice for Fay. The IoD s Director Programme at Leeds Business School has been an excellent learning experience for me. Whilst it has required commitment in terms of time out of my business, the knowledge and insight I have gained from the programme and fellow presenters is invaluable. The programme not only provides new and experienced directors with a valuable perspective into the responsibilities faced by a board, but also challenges board members to think creatively about their business and its future. The standard of the modules and the presenters has been really excellent and I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the Business School programme.

IoD DIRECTORS PROGRAMMES For directors who wish to gain a recognised and credible qualification there are two development options, the Certificate in Company Direction and the Diploma in The highly flexible programme delivery enables you to mix and match programme modules to best suit your management development needs and fit into your demanding schedule. Brings together all the elements contained within the previous four courses. Simulates issues experienced by a real Board with the opportunity to put theory into practice. Receive feedback on your own impact and performance as a role-play board reviews and appraises its own impact and effectiveness. IoD Development Programmes 0113 812 7550
