STRATO LivePages Quick Start LivePages is the practical website building block by STRATO. Using this tool you will be able to create your own website in just a few steps - completely online without needing any knowledge of programming! We will show you the first steps in this small Quick Start handbook. To use LivePages you will only need: A computer with an internet connection Your LivePages access data (which you received from us via e-mail) You will be delighted to see how quickly you can achieve a professional result with LivePages. And you will see that working with LivePages is highly intuitive and fun. In this spirit, we hope you have a lot of fun and great success in creating your first website! Your STRATO LivePages Team Table of Contents Signing In (= Logging In)... 2 Step 1: Theme... 3 Step 2: Design... 4 Step 3: Outline... 6 Step 4: Outline of your Content... 8 Step 5: Publish... 10 Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 1/10

Signing In (= Logging In) First, please sign in at LivePages. Your personal access data will have been sent to you via e-mail. Please enter the following internet address into the address bar of your browser: www.livepages.co.uk/ This will take you to the signing in page of STRATO LivePages. On the right-hand side of the page you will see Customer Login. If you are a STRATO customer, you will login here with your email address, customer number and your customer password or one of your domains and your master password. If you are a test account user, enter your user name and your password exactly as it was given to you in the e-mail: After the first login, LivePages will direct you automatically through the user menu. You will create your website using the following steps: 1. Branch, 2. Design, 3. Outline, 4. Contents and 5. Publish. You can return to the various steps at any time in order to make changes. Just click on the relevant menu item. Incidentally: Of course, you don t have to create your website all at once. Take your time and try out various things. LivePages saves your work completed to date so that when you login again you will be able to continue working at the exact place where you stopped working earlier. One more assurance for you: You can change all your settings as needed in LivePages at any time: Maybe you would like to, for instance, change the colour or even the entire design of your website? Or maybe you need additional pages for your website? No problem for LivePages! All the text or images you entered will be automatically adjusted to the design determined by you! Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 2/10

Step 1: Theme After your first login, first select a branch (theme) for your website. You can choose from Finance, Clubs or Private. When choosing your theme, you of course, don t have to permanently commit yourself. The choice of your branch will merely assist you in finding your way to your suitable website: For instance, in the next step, website designs and graphics will be offered which are suitable to your theme. Then, in step 3, you will be given ideas for a suitable outline for your website (= page structure). Choose a branch that is suitable to your purpose and then one of the suggested sub-themes (just click your mouse on the relevant line): Note: When clicking on the sub-theme, LivePages will automatically direct you to step 2. You can, of course, always change the theme at any time. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 3/10

Step 2: Design In the second step, design ideas will be provided suitable to your selected theme (for instance, Hobbies (Music). You can now simply use the design idea and then click on Continue to step 3. Alternatively, you can find additional design ideas in the selection area on the right which are suitable to your theme selection. Hint! In the upper section to the left, you can have all 220 design templates displayed. Restricting your selection in terms of colour will, of course, facilitate your choice. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 4/10

Once you have selected a design template, simply click on one of the available colour variants. Save your selection by firstly clicking on the Choose Design button. Once you have decided on a design, you can proceed directly to Continue to step 3. In the design area, you have additional options for a customised structuring of your website: Choose the main graphic Change the menu design Include your own logo, and more For this, please click on the relevant menu items displayed in the upper section. Note: You, of course, don t have to manually change every selection. If you like, you can just use all the design and graphics ideas without making any changes. After having made all the desired changes in the design section, click on the Continue to step 3 button on the bottom right. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 5/10

Step 3: Outline In the third step you will determine the outline of your website. LivePages offers you numerous, customised ideas here as well (the Hobbies (Music) example is used here again). In the list on the left, you will find a collection of pages which are often used in the branch selected by you. The greyed-out pages are already used in the Outline of your website. You will find these in the orange coloured section in the centre of the page. If you want to use additional suggestions from the column on the left, simply highlight the individual pages with your mouse and then click on the "Apply" button. The additional pages will then be included in your website outline. Modifying the outline (if required): Changing the description (page name) You can change the description by double-clicking on a page. Changing the order If required, you can change the order of the menu items. To do this, click on a page and simply drag the item to the desired position (drag & drop) by keeping the left mouse button depressed. Adding a new page Firstly, highlight the place where the new page must be added in the middle section. Then, in the section on the right, in the Edit outline section click on New Page. Click on Text/image to add a new page for your content. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 6/10

Deleting a page To delete a page, highlight the relevant page and then click on "Delete" in the section on the right. Hiding a page The Hide page function is very handy. This function makes it possible to make a page (temporarily) invisible to your website visitors as required. This means that you don't always need to delete a page and then re-create it. To hide a page, highlight the relevant page and then click on "Hide page" in the section on the right. The relevant page is then greyed out ensuring that you will always a good overview of all your pages. Note: When creating a new page, in addition to using a purely text/image type of page, you could also include interactive pages in your website. These are ready to use elements which you can structure individually, as always in LivePages. You can choose from items such as photo album, slide show, guest book, forum, survey tool and contact form. After having made all the desired changes in the outline section, click on the Next button to the bottom right in the Outline of your website section. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 7/10

Step 4: Outline of your Content In this step you will edit the content of your website. This is the section where you will probably do most of your work as it is here that you determine the structure (layout) of the individual pages, and where you will create and revise your texts and add your images or videos to your pages. To work in individual pages, just click on the relevant menu item. You can modify your page as desired using the "Contents" and "Settings" tabs on the left hand side of the screen. To explain each function separately would be contrary to the spirit of the Quick Start. This is why only the most important functions are mentioned: Editing text To enter or revise text, click on the relevant text block using your mouse. You can now freely structure or modify the text. In your settings bar (left hand side of the screen), you will find all the necessary functions for formatting text, creating tables, lists, links, etc. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 8/10

Changing the structure of a page If you need to change the structure of a page, please select the Settings tab in the settings bar. Under Layout you will find several ideas for the structure of your page. Choosing images/videos Choose a page layout with image blocks and highlight the image block by clicking it using your mouse. Various editing options for your image/video are now available in the settings bar. Click on add image or video. You will now be automatically taken to the LivePages media pool. You can upload your own images or videos here. Detailed instructions for using the LivePages media pool can be found in the FAQ item: How can I incorporate my pictures in a LivePages project? Password protection You can secure individual pages or the entire website using a password. Detailed instructions for using the password protection feature can be found in the FAQ item: How can I password protect my LivePages website? Saving your changes Content is saved automatically as soon as you change to another page, select a new function, change to another text or image block, change to another step or close LivePages. Display preview You can see the current status of your website at any time. Simply click on Preview (the magnifying glass at the upper edge of the content to be edited) and you will be able to see what your website will look like at that particular point in time on the internet. But don t worry the content will only be visible to everybody once you have clicked on Publish in the last step. Publishing your website Once you have made all the desired changes to your pages, click on "5. Publish in the top section of the general menu items. Version: 3.2 December 2011 STRATO AG Page 9/10

Step 5: Publish This last step will publish your website to the internet. In order to publish the website created by you to the internet you will need your own internet address. This internet address (=domain) is included in all the STRATO packages and will be displayed automatically under Your Internet Address. If needed, you can modify the descriptor text for your website and enter keywords. To do so, please click on the Search engine optimization button. Then, to finish, click on the Publish button. The pages created by you will now be prepared for the internet. The publishing process could take somewhat longer for the first time. Exactly how long the publishing process will take depends on the size of the pages created by you. If you simply update your pages at a later stage, the publishing process will be very quick. So, that s it! Now your website has been published on the internet. Your visitors will be amazed. We wish you great success and many friends with your own website!
