INTRODUCTION Smartermail is our free mail service. You can get the product with your Dynamicweb solution. If you should have lost your admin login information, you can contact us at support@hostnordic.com, we can then provide you with a new password. This guide will show you how to administer your Smartermail mail hotel and how to setup your Smartermail account in Windows Live Mail or Microsoft Outlook. TOOLS The guide was made using Windows 7, Windows Live Mail 2011 and Microsoft Outlook 2010. Older versions of Windows, Windows Live Mail and Microsoft Outlook may not look the exact same, but the approach should be similar. DNS RECORDS EXPLANATION OF MX RECORDS The MX record shows that all e-mails at yourdomain.com should routed to the mail server at yourdomain.com. The DNS record shows that yourdomain.com is located at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx IP. This means that e-mail meant for you@yourdomain.com will be routed to the e-mail server at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. To start receiving e-mails on the new Smartermail account, you have to make sure that the MX records, for the domain name is configured properly. Mail Exchange Preference mx1.hostnordic.com 10 If your domain is hosted by Hostnordic A/S: You can type the mx records yourself in Hostnordic s Selfcare. A user can be ordered here and is free. Or you can send a mail to support@hostnordic.com and we can set it up for you. However if you need us to make changes to your DNS records after your Smartermail mail hotel has been made, you will be billed as per our service catalog.
