Safeguard Waterproofing Systems living space Creating useable by making basements dry

The SWS waterproof cement system The Safeguard SWS Structural Waterproofing System is designed to be both highly effective and simple to apply. SWS Slurry Powder is simply mixed with water and applied to the prepared masonry surface using a block brush or trowel. The applied product forms an extremely strong chemical bond with the masonry, blocking the passage of water, and becoming an integral part of the structure. Safeguard SWS Slurry is complemented by ancillary products to deal with floor/wall junctions, high salt levels and other commonly found situations. 3.1 Sand Cement Render SWS Salt Neutralizers SWS Bond Aid Plus SWS Slurry First Coat SWS Slurry Second Coat SWS Fillet Seal Floor Screed Floor Slab Advantages Withstands high water pressures Easy to apply Suitable for complex and intricate structures Tel: 011 708 3603 No sumps or pumps required

Choosing the right System Many properties have damp, unused basements and cellars. With the use of the correct waterproofing system, these can be transformed into wonderful new living spaces. Whether it is a new bedroom, bathroom, or even a new kitchen, a dry and refurbished basement will certainly add value to your property. Safeguard have over 18 years experience in the waterproofing of damp and www.safeguardchem.com wet basements. Because the construction methods and degree of dampness found in basements vary considerably, we have developed two primary systems for creating a dry basement. This brochure is intended as a basic guide to the two systems. For further details, please contact our technical department on 011 708 3603, or visit our website at www.safeguardchem.com. Conditions Water Pressure Presence of Free Water Condensation Problem Complicated Structure or Intricate Shapes Crumbling or Painted Surfaces Contaminated Surfaces Structural Movement or Vibration Underground radon, methane or other Gas Emissions Vaulted Ceiling Flat Ceiling Safeguard Solution SWS CDM (with drainage facility) (with drainage facility)

The CDM membrane waterproofing system The Cavity Drainage Membrane (CDM) system provides an exceptionally fast, convenient method of waterproofing walls, floors and ceilings on new build and refurbishment projects. The membrane is attached to walls and ceilings by means of special sealed fixing plugs. While on the floor there is normally no need for any form of fixing. CDM can be covered with plasterboard, dry lining, screed or a floating timber floor. If any free water enters the cavity behind the membrane then a drainage facility, possibly incorporating a sump and pump, will need to be built in. 12mm Plasterboard CDM Brick Plug with Seal Fixing Bracket CDM Clear Membrane Advantages No preparation of contaminated surfaces required Quick, clean and simple to fix Easy to achieve a high standard of decorative finish Helps reduce heat loss Allows concealment of pipes, electrical cables, etc. Exceptionally long-lasting Withstands structural movement and vibration Tel: 011 708 3603

Installation We recommend that Safeguard waterproofing products are applied by an experienced waterproofing company. If you would like a quote for having your basement waterproofed or converted, call 011 708 3603, and we will arrange for an experienced waterproofing company in your area to contact you. Guarantees Safeguard SWS and CDM waterproofing systems are recognised by the Property Guarantee Administration (PGA) as acceptable methods of basement waterproofing. The PGA is a UK industry leader in the provision of independent, long term guarantee insurance for waterproofing treatments to selected approved installers. The PGA guarantee insurance scheme is currently only avaiable in the UK.
