The Company offers a full range of air conditioning service stations, diagnostics, technical training and a consumables range to the automotive and agricultural vehicle air conditioning industries. With over 30 years experience within the industry, the Cooling Edge Team has a wealth of knowledge and experience and an understanding of the customer needs and offer the following products and services. Consumables Range Air Conditioning Service Equipment and Packages A full range of service stations from fully automatic machines with vehicle database and printers to portable equipment. All equipment packages supplied by Cooling Edge are complete with Starter and Diagnostic Packs. As part of our back up service all machines purchased are delivered, commissioned at our customers premises with a technical training course given to ensure the technicians have a clear understanding of the equipment procedures, operation of the vehicle air conditioning system and a basic fault diagnosis course. On site equipment service repair is also available. Off the shelf products such as R134A refrigerant, PAG oils, ultra violet dyes and anti-bacterial treatments are available on overnight distribution from our warehouse. Technical Training Diagnostic Tools and Equipment Cooling Edge offers the latest technology within its diagnostic and test equipment range. Nitrogen test kits, compressor electrical testers and clutch repair tools allow the air conditioning specialist to diagnose air conditioning faults and carry out service repair with confidence and ease. A complete suite of technical training coursers are available from Cooling Edge. An approved training centre for City and Guilds allows our trainers and assessors to conduct on site training courses and assessment sessions. Courses are available for both automotive and agricultural customers throughout the U.K

Technical Training Cooling Edge offers a complete suite of technical training courses for the automotive, agricultural and construction vehicle air conditioning industries. Whether its an introduction to air conditioning or a fault diagnosis course, we are able to offer on site training / assessments at your premises or at one of our designated training venues throughout the UK. Legislation introduced in 2010 by Defra and the European Union (Regulation No: 842/2006) now requires all technicians handling fluorinated gases (R134A) and carrying out service repair of vehicle air conditioning systems to meet the minimum qualification as set out in the F Gas Regulation (Page 6). Cooling Edge Limited is an Approved Training Centre for the City and Guilds and offers the Level 3 City and Guilds Certificate in Mobile Air Conditioning Systems Qualification (7343- QCA Test and Trial). There are three modules to this qualification as listed below. Technical Training F Gas Regulation (EC) No: 842/2006 On 2 nd April 2008 the European Parliament has set a minimum requirement for training programmes and the conditions for mutual recognition of training for personnel as regards air conditioning systems in certain motor vehicles containing certain greenhouse gases. The City and Guilds have met the requirements of the regulation and are able to offer the vehicle air conditioning refrigerant handling qualification as a minimum standard. Minimum requirement as to the skills and knowledge to be covered by the training programme. A) Theoretical module as indicated in the Column Module Type by (T) B) Practical module where the candidate shall perform the corresponding task with the relevant material, tools and equipment as indicated in the column Module Type by (P) Minimum Knowledge and Skills Module Type 1. Operation of air conditioning systems containing fluorinated greenhouse gases in motor vehicle, environmental impact of fluorinated greenhouse gas refrigerants and corresponding environmental regulations. 1.1 Basic knowledge of the operation of air vehicles. conditioning systems in motor T 1.2 Basic knowledge of the operation and properties of the fluorinated greenhouse gases used as refrigerants in air conditioning systems in motor vehicles, the impact of the emissions of these gases on the environment, order of magnitude of their global warming potential in relation to climate change. 1.3 Basic Knowledge of the relevant provisions and Directive 2006 /40 / EC of Regulation (EC) No 842/2006 T T 2. Technical Training City and Guilds Refrigerant Handling for Mobile Air Conditioning Systems Qualification No: 7543-01-001 7543 Module 1 (F Gas Assessment) The first of 3 modules towards the full City and Guilds qualification in Mobile Air Conditioning Systems. This is also a mandatory requirement directed by the European Union and Defra for all engineers who handle refrigerants and carrying out repairs of vehicle air conditioning systems. This module is an assessment of the candidates competency and ability to operate a recovery unit and have a clear understanding of the fluorinated greenhouse gases and their environmental impact. Prior to the assessment the candidate will need a minimum skills level and knowledge of the following: - The function and layout of a vehicle air conditioning system - Correct use of air conditioning service equipment and service tools - Environmental implications ozone depletion and global warming - The safe transfer, waste disposal and recycling of refrigerants All candidates will be issued with study notes and joining instructions prior to attending their Refrigerant Handling Assessment. This one day training course is completed with and practical and oral examination. The Candidate will be required to: Demonstrate an understanding of the layout, function and operating principles of the vehicle air conditioning system. The candidate will also need to show a good level of knowledge and competency In the operation of recovery, vacuum, recharging and flushing of a vehicle air conditioning system procedures that are required for testing and servicing. Demonstrate and understanding of the environmental implications, Health and Safety requirements for refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, adding oil, refrigerant charging and leak detection. The Candidate will be able to understand: Workplace procedures whilst handling refrigerants, personnel protection and vehicle protection when carrying mobile service / rectification work. Procedures for servicing and testing of vehicle air conditioning systems including refrigerant identification, Initial system evaluation. Testing pressures and temperatures, air distribution and air speed with basic fault diagnosis of vehicle air conditioning systems using the manifold gauges. This two day diagnostic training course is completed with and practical and oral examination. The Candidate will be required to : Have an understanding of the function, layout and operating principles of the vehicle air conditioning systems, components, service equipment, tools, materials and procedures required for system diagnosis. Demonstrate an understanding the principles of operation, purpose, construction, diagnosis, removal, refitting and maintenance of the air conditioning of vehicle air conditioning system components. Diagnose faults with the use of manifold test gauges and the ability to carry out repair procedures for either the expansion valve or fixed orifice tube vehicle air conditioning system Have a clear understanding of the climate control systems, configurations, operations and components including diagnostics.
