Quarter: Spring 2013 23. The TA was able to answer the students' questions adequately. 25 4 11 8 1 1 0 4.64 24. The TA was well prepared for each session. 24 7 9 6 1 1 0 4.83 25. The TA communicated ideas in a clear manner. 25 5 9 7 3 1 0 4.56 26. The TA showed strong interest in teaching the course. 24 6 8 7 1 2 0 4.63 TA was excellent. He teaches complicated subject materials easy to understand. He was very helpful throughout the course/strength-knowledgeable and able to answer questions Weakness-Needed a couple of replacements/n/a/amazing explanations, though I was not a fan of the layout of the discussions which was only based on homeworks./samir did a great job going through problem sets and answering any questions students had./he was very clear and always willing to help or slow things down/slow, slow - good and bad thing

Quarter: Spring 2014 23. The TA was able to answer the students' questions adequately. 43 18 11 9 5 0 0 4.98 24. The TA was well prepared for each session. 43 22 11 9 1 0 0 5.26 25. The TA communicated ideas in a clear manner. 43 16 7 13 7 0 0 4.74 26. The TA showed strong interest in teaching the course. 42 18 7 12 4 1 0 4.88 well-prepared./helpful, knew what he was talking about/very considerate of students and always willing to go beyond the material covered in class./he was knowledgeable and effective at explaining concepts. He was not kept up to date with the logistics and what was going on in the class./couldn't gauge whether or not we were understanding/samir was great, he explained things very clearly and was willing to slow down to accommodate different people's needs. He was really helpful - definitely go to discussion section, a lot of the problems on the exams are similar to ones you do there/the TA was always prepared and had relevant examples during discussion for the class. very useful and also seemed like he enjoyed teaching it. always left time for questions at the end of discussion, which i know was useful./very knowledgable/samir was a great TA. He was passionate about helping us, and he definitely did so. He explained things in a clear manner, and he was always open to questions. I would definitely look forward to having him as a TA again./the TAs were great and always willing to answer questions./samir IS THE BEST TA IN THE WORLD. That is all./idk/he is well-prepared and concerned about the students, but his accent makes him not clear at times./samir Page 1 of 2

was extremely effective at teaching what he was supposed to. However, when we asked him questions, there seemed to be a disconnect between what we wanted to know and what he was answering./tas are all so great. Best TAs I've ever had./samir would sometimes rush through problem sets, but overall he knew how to explain them pretty well./semir knows the material very well and is very confident in presenting it. The only "weakness" is his accent-- sometimes it's hard to understand him, but that's understandable, not something I blame him for. Page 2 of 2

Course: 201-0-70 Introduction to Macroeconomics Quarter: Fall 2014 23. The TA was able to answer the students' questions adequately. 13 4 5 2 2 0 0 4.85 24. The TA was well prepared for each session. 13 7 3 1 1 1 0 5.08 25. The TA communicated ideas in a clear manner. 13 6 2 3 0 1 1 4.69 26. The TA showed strong interest in teaching the course. 13 4 5 1 2 1 0 4.69 For the most part, Samir was good at answering questions and responding to student concerns./samir did a good job filling in the blanks that Gordon didn't teach/he explained things clearly If you didn't get it the second time you're screed./samir seemed to care about the welfare of his students. Unfortunately, he was bad at communicating big ideas and often could not explain the reasoning behind the mathematical formulas he presented./samir is very understanding and takes time to answer questions./knowledgeable, Had a good way of explaining things./the teaching assistant was great. I really enjoyed his explanations of the concepts that were mentioned during lectures. The TA does not have any major weaknesses./samir is great! Explained everything WAY better than the instructor./samir knows the material very well and does a good job explaining it. I just wish we had all 50 minutes of discussion section to review material instead of having to take quizzes all the time.

Quarter: Winter 2015 23. The TA was able to answer the students' questions adequately. 12 3 4 5 0 0 0 4.83 24. The TA was well prepared for each session. 12 3 2 7 0 0 0 4.67 25. The TA communicated ideas in a clear manner. 11 2 3 5 1 0 0 4.55 26. The TA showed strong interest in teaching the course. 12 1 6 3 2 0 0 4.5 Strengths: organized, helpful Weakness: doesn't explain well all the time/all three TAs were absolutely fantastic. They were all highly knowledgable, very approachable, and taught me and everyone that I have talked to all we learned in the course. EVERYTHING that I learned in this classed I learned from the three TAs, NOT professor Guo./The teaching assistant is very willing to explain concepts and is sensitive to the students needs. He answers questions very well.
