AskColleague AskColleague is a person-to-person community where individuals help each other and generally collaborate. The communities are organized by categories of subjects and interests. Registered users can post and browse questions and answers on any available category. There may be an unlimited number of categories (up to 3 levels), which may be predefined and maintained by the corporation, or dynamic, where anyone can add new categories. All questions that are successfully answered are permanently archived for future reference.

KnowledgeAgents KnowledgeAgents deliver information to individuals based on the topic of interest they specify. Employees tell the agents what subjects they are most interested in and they will monitor the system for the employee. Information can be accessed in two ways: by subscribing to information (passive) or by searching for it (proactive). A one click subscription service is a quick and convenient way for individuals to indicate topics of interest. Individuals can subscribe to ExpertSpaces (such as finance, engineering), PeopleSpaces (their colleagues professional homepages), categories (such as skills or education) and other postings available in the system. Once subscribed, the KnowledgeLEAD system proactively monitors its ever-changing information base to deliver newly posted information to the user. This subscription service is available throughout all relevant areas in the KnowledgeLEAD system. Search is an integral part of KnowledgeLEAD to quickly locate people or information. Information in KnowledgeLEAD can be searched in several ways. Throughout the system there are quick search areas where individuals can simply enter keywords and get the search results. There is also an Information Request form where individuals can indicate a list of key words that they would like to track. Based on the specifications in the Information Request form, KnowledgeLEAD periodically searches and delivers to the user a set of closest matching results via email.

KnowledgeLEAD enterprise system is designed to leverage the existing systems in which corporations have invested. Section 3: The Basics of Getting Started Software Requirements The following is the list of software that is required to use KnowledgeLEAD. Domino server release 5.04 or higher 5.0.4 Domino Designer Client Release 5.0.4 Lotus Notes Client Release 5.0.4 (at least one is suggested) access Internet Explorer 5.04 and above (Netscape versions are not supported at this time) The following is the list of requirements for end users. Pentium P133 or greater 32MB RAM 100 MB of disk space Internet Explorer 5.05 or higher Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT with Service Pack 4 Set-up Requirements Setting up the KnowledgeLEAD enterprise system is a simple three-step process. Step 1: Configure the Domino Server The server documents on the Lotus Domino Directory must have a valid, fully qualified Internet domain name entered. Add the HTTP and the Usenet News tasks to the server task list if not already done. Please refer to Lotus Domino documentation for more detail. Sign the KnowledgeLEAD.nsf files with an ID that has access to system settings and custom options. Import standard corporate information for all users into the KnowledgeLEAD system. Step 2: Give each user an HTTP username and password In order to begin using the system, each user needs to know their Notes domain username (e.g.: Steven Lee) and HTTP password which may or may not be the same as their Notes domain password. At this point the administrator should put together an e-mail notification or some other means of communication to their users. Step 3: Install and configure KnowledgeLEAD system As users begin to access the system for the first time, they will be asked to specify their personal preferences such as homepage styles sheets, custom URL links and so on. After their personal preferences are set up, they can begin collaborating with their colleagues.
