It is easy to manage and can keep up with a business s growing needs. ABScard is an transactional multi-channel system: transactions can be carried out via internet, mobile phone, RFID terminal, telematic terminal and POS. Thanks to the ABScard system it is possible to track customer behavior. At POS, the ABScard functions alongside banking software for traditional currency, to provide the advantages of innovative solutions and the possibility of traditional payment in a single instrument.

The ABScard e-wallet meets UNIINFO standards UNI 7812 and complies with the functioning and security standards of Banca D Italia. It is compatible with standards ISO7816 and ISO14443 regarding the smartcard. It is compatible with EMV cards. It has been certified and used by the primary credit institutions (as an e-wallet and customer loyalty program). At POS it functions with banking software for currency (debit and credit cards) both as a primary and secondary application. All of the operations described in this document can also be carried out at telematic cabins and multimedia kiosks, where the e-wallet can be topped up though the use of a debit card.

The system has a multi-tier client-server setup, which allows a high level of separation between data presentation and the database. The servers are developed in JAVA, which makes them compatible with the most widely used platforms. The multichannel architecture guarantees the development of various applications performed by multiple devices. TCP/IP TCP/IP PTSN WEB TCP/IP Gateway GSM TCP/IP Concentrator/Protocol Convertor Gateway Application Server Database Gestionali Esterni Gestionali Esterni External Managements

The system guarantees the security of transactions by using the most recent technology. This characteristic makes it the ideal instrument to integrate into setups and/or applications that require security in accessing databases. The security of the system lies in the use of a architecture based on public-key encryption and authentification systems. For the TCP/IP channel, the cryptography algorithm used in this version of the software is Rijndael, certified by NIST (National Institute of Standard and Technology) as the AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). In addition, the session keys for the criptography have a duration limited to the transaction time.

Transactions coming from POS are encrypted using a symmetrickey encryption with the same algorithm used by the banking circuit. The system can manage memory cards (SLE4442 by SIEMENS) or microchip cards (typically SIK by GEP). For SLE4442 memory cards, security is established through a PIN written on the card and through the cryptography of the data written on the system card. For the microchip cards, security is established through a read access key, a write access key and an authentication key.

Retailer The card is a smartcard, with a 16 digit code and a PIN to access operations via internet or POS terminals. The operation of crediting points takes place upon payment; the user presents his card and user code, inserts it in the POS and the operation of crediting the client discount (or points) based on the amount entered (or entered directly by the cash register). The transactions are totaled in the POS terminal and the updated balance is written on the users microchip card. Retailer

The download of the saved transactions takes place one or more times per day according to an established schedule or manually. Retailer 1 The transactions are received by the service center, which then processes them and makes the information available to the users and retailers on the internet. In this case the balance from the service center is the official one.

Rewards or accumulated points can be requested by presenting the card to the issuer (or authorized centers).. The card is inserted into the POS and the transaction of point deduction is sent to the service center that verifies the amount accrued and debits the amount of the requested reward. The transaction of debiting points can also take place through the HELPDESK (Call Center) that verifies the amount, authorizes the reward request and debits the amount from the accumulated points. At this point the POS merely updates the card s balance which then updates the card s balance at the service center.

The user and the retailer, via internet, can track their own transactions, with the user code and PIN to verify identity in the dedicated areas.

Retailer At POS, the payment process takes place by inserting the card, selecting the amount due (which can be done by a cash register) and authorizing the transaction through the user s PIN (this step is optional). Via internet, the system allows the payment process to be carried out through an e-commerce portal. The card is a smartcard, with a 16 digit code and a PIN to access operations via internet or POS terminals. The user must recharge the card with the desired amount. Retailer

All of the transactions take place online, and only the service centers store the official balances, after verifying the amount and authorizing payment. Merchant 1 Once the card s balance has been depleted, it must be recharged by the desired amount. The recharge can be done at POS or through others mechanisms provided by the system.

The user and the retailer, via internet, can track their own transactions, using the card code and PIN to verify their identity.

Thanks to the ABScard system, it is possible to provide terminals (POS or handheld devices) with the capacity to display menu choices for the sale of goods and services. Through a configuration transaction, the terminal loads menus and submenus from the service center, which contain products or services to display. For the sale of a product, one simply selects the category, then the product and confirms the operation (payment can take place even with the e-wallet). The terminal emits a receipt with the price of the item or service sold. The retailer, via internet, has the possibility to see the sales carried out by the terminals.

Another application for the sale of products via POS is the sale of mobile phone recharge cards or units. Through backoffice tools, the amounts and types of recharge codes are loaded. When the user goes to buy a recharge, the retailer of the POS selects the provider and amount of recharge. The request is then made to the service center, which based on the type of recharge, can print a receipt with the recharge code and forward the recharge to the provider (where possible). The retailer, via internet, has the possibility to monitor the sales made on the POS. The manager, through the backoffice tools, can insert new recharge options and check on the sales and invoicing.

With the application of sales of products and services via POS it is possible recharge VISA Electron FastCards. When the user goes to recharge a prepaid card, the retailer of the POS selects the service and swipes the FAST CARD to recharge (alternatively, the number can be entered manually). The request is then made to the service center which gives the final result of the recharge transaction. The retailer, via internet, has the possibility to monitor the sales made from the POS. The manager, through the backoffice tools, can insert new recharges and check on the rate of sales and invoicing.

The transactions of the ABScard system can be carried out using terminals that are more advanced that normal POS banking ones. Using contact-less cards and RFID terminals or hand-held devices makes transactions more flexible and quicker. Gateway Using normal IPAQ or Pocket PC hand-held devices it is possible to send transactions to the ABScard system via GPRS or with a WI-FI connection, using the full graphic, processing and memory potential of these terminals. In the tourism-hotel sector it is possible to manage the commands. In addition, adding couplet RFID options, it is possible to read and write on contact-less or hybrid cards (that combine that possibility to be read by contact or proximity).

With the use of industrial hand-held devices, it is possible to forward transactions in multiple ways. In fact, it is possible to read the ABScard code on a contact-less card or on a bar code and send the transaction via WI-FI. Gateway This opens the use of the ABScard system also to applications in the industrial sphere or customer loyalty programs for mass retailers.

The transactions of the ABScard system can be carried out also at multimedia kiosks. The kiosks or telematic cabins are PC-based units, able to perform numerous services. The kiosks can be furnished with: Smartcard reader/writer conforming to the specific ABScards Gateway Banknote reader (optional) Debit/credit card reader (optional) Thermal receipt printer

Through the telematic cabins it is possible to: recharge the ABScard using banknotes or electronic bank cards. Purchase services using the ABScard e-wallet Navigate on the internet Print Gateway In the tourism/hotel sector they are used to recharge e-wallets and to use PC-based information services.

Payment transactions, recharges and information requests are also available through the use of mobile phones, by text (SMS) messaging. This allows a large number of users to make use of the services linked to the card code. Gateway In many cases the mobile phone can, in this manner, substitute the POS. In the tourism sectors (or for parking) this is a great added value especially for reservations. ABScard is compatible with smartphone/pos for payment

The ABScard comes with a HELPDESK management system for the CALL CENTERS and a BACKOFFICE product for the management of finanicial data and statistics.

Through the backoffice support, the product is easily interfaced with the most wide-spread management program. The set-up allows, infact, to make the data available in other programs, or to receive data, through an exchange of formatted flows or by reading/writing directly on the DB of external programs. The functions of the backoffice allow the following to be carried out: Analyze of gathered data and interface them with CRM or managament applications Integrate the accounting and emit details results by: Client Client Group Merchandise categories and products Monitor the functioning and the profits of connected units Personalize the reports according to the business or institution s needs (even varying over time)
