1 Introduction IP100 is an advanced IP phone, allowing both business and residential customers experienced superb voice communications over IP network. Providing conveniences and functionalities of traditional phone, it perfectly converges the best of analog and IP phone features. This low cost, easy-to-use IP phone is plugged directly into the local area network through a standard RJ- 45 jack and allows voice data to be carried over the same path used by your computer. It also supports features that you have come to expect from a telephone such as redial, call transfer, call retrieves and conference calling. 1.1 Phone Support Voice communication over a data network Familiar telephony features to handle call easily Special features to extend and customize your call-handling capabilities Online control from your User Options web pages Access to network data and services 1.2 Minimum Requirements (Optional) Make sure computer connected to IP100 meets below minimum requirements. 2 Installation 2.1 Package Contents Make sure the following contents are included in the package: One IP100 One Footstand One Power Adapter (DC 5V, max 2A) Two CAT-5 UTP Straight Ethernet Network Cable (RJ-45) One User Manual One Easy Start Guide 2.2 Setup 1. Turn the phone upside down; 2. Plug the footstand firmly into place. Please refer to the figure below for details: 3. Connect all the cables to the ports and jacks. Please refer to the following section to do the connection. Page 6 of 55

Connect one end of the Ethernet RJ-45 cable to an Internet Access Device (IP PBX / ADSL modem for instance), and connect the other end of the activated cable to the WAN port at the back of IP100; 2. Connect the LAN jack of the IP100 to your PC (this will be the administration computer) with Ethernet RJ-45 cable; 3. Connect the handset to the handset jack; 4. Connect the power adapter to the AC Outlet and the power jack of IP phone. Then the display turns on; 5. To use a headset, connect it into the port labeled at the bottom of the phone. Page 7 of 55

2.4 Deployment Sample IP Phone uses the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) for communications with other phones. Your phone is based upon industry standard VoIP and will work with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) compliant VoIP networks. The diagram below provides an example of a VoIP network design with IP phones. 2.5 Safety Note Please remember these reminders to ensure the safe and continuous operation of your IP phone. Use the 5V power supply included in the package. Using a different power supply may cause damage to the phone, affect its behavior, or induce noise. Do not place the phone on carpets or other materials that could block the air vents to avoid overheating. Place on an even surface to help the rubber pads maintain a secure grip. Attach the footstand and handset cord properly. To clean, use an anti-static cloth. Avoid using cleaning liquids that may damage the surface or the internal electronics of the phone. Page 8 of 55

Displays a menu in idle mode that provides access to Call Settings and Call Logs, while displays a menu in active mode that provides access to Retrieve, Pickup, Conference Call and Call Logs. Press to confirm selection. Displays features such as the time, date, your phone number, caller ID, call status and your IP Phone model number. 5 Redial Press to redial the last dialed telephone number. 6 Hold Press to hold calls and switch between two calls. 7 Navigation Enables you to scrolls through text and selects features that are displayed on the LCD screen. Increases or decreases volume for the handset and speaker. 4 Phone Configuration Guide When the IP100 is turned on the first time, you are required to configure the following settings first via the phone or via web. 4.1 Configuring via IP100 During boot up, the phone allows you to set up or view the following: a. In standby mode, press MENU and NAVIGATION to the location Account Config; 2. Press ENTER, then NAVIGATION to choose SIP Account / User Account to edit; Page 13 of 55

3. Press ENTER and the display will shows the current setting account marked with * (DEFAULT* for instance); 4. Press ENTER, and use NAVIGATION to view the operation list (Add, Detail, Edit, Delete, Set current); 5. Go to the location ADD. Press ENTER to set current option and press ENTER to confirm, repeat these operations to set all the parameters. You are also allowed to edit, delete, check the details of your preferred account, and even delete all your accounts. The Set current helps you to set one account as the current account when you have more than one account. Note: During programming, only functions as erasing digits and characters from display but cannot be pressed to return previous option. You can only press MENU to return the idle mode. Phone Settings In standby mode, press MENU and NAVIGATION to the location Phone Settings mode. To Format Date / Time 1. Under Phone Settings mode, press NAVIGATION to select Date Format / Time Format; 2. Press ENTER and then NAVIGATION to choose the style you prefer; 3. Press ENTER to confirm. To set Date / Time 1. Under Phone Settings mode, press NAVIGATION to select Date Set / Time Set. Then press ENTER to enter one of the two; 2. Key in the date / time and press ENTER to confirm. To Set Ring Tone / Ring Volume 1. Under Phone Settings mode, press NAVIGATION and ENTER to select RingTone / Ring Volume; 2. Press NAVIGATION to scroll the melody (1~9) / volume level (1~6) you prefer to set; 3. Press ENTER to confirm. Page 14 of 55

NET Configuration To Configure WAN 1. In standby mode, press MENU and NAVIGATION to the location NET Config; 2. Press ENTER, use NAVIGATION to view the menu list (NET Config, DHCP, LAN, DNS Config); 3. Go to the location WAN Config, press ENTER, the display shows IP address; 4. Press ENTER, and key in the IP address; 5. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to the location SUBNET Mask / Gateway addr. Then set them the same way as IP address. You are allowed to enable or disable DHCP under the NET mode, also configure LAN settings, set DNS Proxy and add new DNS Proxy if needed. To view Firmware Version 1. In standby mode, press MENU and NAVIGATION to the location Firmware Ver; 2. Press ENTER to view the version. Save & Reboot This is to confirm all the setting above for the phone: 1. In standby mode, press MENU and NAVIGATION to the location Save & Reboot; 2. Press OK, then press NAVIGATION to select Yes / No; 3. Press OK to confirm. 4.2 Phone Configuration via Web The web interface allows you to configure basic and advanced phone settings. For non-dhcp clients, please refer to Configuring your Computer first. Configuration Procedure Step 1. To access the web interface 1. Launch your browser; Page 15 of 55

Enter default factory setting IP address: 10.0.0.99 in your administration computer address field and use the account: admin and password: epicrouter to access the IP Phone Administration web interface. Click Step 1:Network Selection link to enter the next page: Figure 2 Network Selection page If you have a DHCP server-enabled device (eg. router), select DHCP Client or PPPoE, otherwise select static IP. DHCP Client: Allows the IP100 to obtain IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS server automatically from the DHCP server, if there is a DHCP server (such as a router) in your network. PPPoE Connection: Those ADSL and Cable Modem users please select this item for it is a protocol especially designed for them. With this system, ADSL ISP automatically assigns all the required IP parameters to any device connected to it when the device log on. Username: please input the user name of the account given by your ADSL ISP. Password: please input the password of the account given by your ADSL ISP. Static IP IP Address: Enter the IP address of IP100 Netmask: Enter the subnet mask of the network Gateway: Enter the address of the router or the address of upper-gateway. DNS Server: Key in the address of the local DNS Server. Step 3. Click Proceed to Step 2 to enter the next step: Figure 3 Voice Service Provider page Service Provider: DEFAULT. Click Add New Provider to add new SIP server, the maximum of which is up to 4. Registrar Address: SIP Server s IP address or Domain name provided by VoIP service provider (ITSP) or a IP-PBX register address. Proxy Address: IP address or Domain name of proxy. OutboundProxy Address: IP address or Domain name of Outbound Proxy, or Media Gateway, or Session Border Controller. User Profile: DEFAULT. Press Add New User to add new u ser, the maximum of which is up to 4. Auth User ID: SIP service subscriber s Authenticate ID used for authentication. Usually has the form of digit similar to phone number or actually a phone number. User Name: SIP service subscriber s Authenticate user name used for caller ID display. Password: SIP service subscriber s account password for IP100 to register to (SIP) servers of ITSP. Quick setting: Auth User ID, User Name and Password can be input the digit 0 for auto-registration by IP-PBX or ITSP. NAT Traversal Technique NONE: If the IP phone directly connected to the Modem, please select this item. USE STUN Page 17 of 55

-Server: Enter the IP address or Domain Name of the STUN Server. The default is 66.7.238.210. This field is applicable only if USE STUN is selected as the NAT traversal technique. -STUN Port: Enter the port number on which the STUN server listens for requests from the STUN Client on ATA. The range is 1 to 65535. The default is 3478. This field is applicable only if USE STUN is selected as the NAT traversal technique. -Force Keep Alive: Only valid when STUN is not used. If STUN is not enabled, and keep alive is still expected to be sent then select Yes otherwise select No. -Keep Alive Period: The keep alive interval in seconds to be used when STUN is not enabled. Step 4. Click finish to save the configuration.please wait for approximately about 30 seconds for the process to complete. Figure 4 Saving Configuration Configuring your Computer If you do not have a DHCP network, you need to manually configure your computer to access the user interface. These instructions are only applicable for phones that are not part of a DHCP network. 1. Connect one end of RJ45 to LAN port ( ), and the other end to PC; 2. From your desktop, select Start > Run. Enter control ncpa.cpl and then click OK. This opens Network Connections; 3. Right-click LAN and then select Properties; 4. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click Properties; 5. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, select Use the following IP address. Enter the IP address: 10.0.0.100 and Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0. 6. Click OK to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box; Page 18 of 55

7. Click Close to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box. 4.3 Aztech Auto-Provisioning IP100 can be registered to the server and gets its extension number automatically when connected to Aztech IPX1050, there is no need to set parameters except the registrar address of Aztech IPX1050, and then you can use IP100 to place calls. Here is a diagram example for you to set up the connection: Page 19 of 55

5 Functions 5.1 Making and Answering Calls To Place a Call You can place a call by: Dialing and lifting the handset immediately, or Dial and connect the headset, press the headset key, or Dial and press the speakerphone key. At the end of the call, hang up the phone to end the call. For headset or speaker, you must also push the button to end the call. Note: You can dial the number after you lift the handset or press the Speakerphone key or press the Headset key if you need, but you won't be able to correct any mistakes if you do it in this way. To Answer a Call When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the SPEAKERPHONE to answer the call. Press the HEADSET to answer the call if the headset is available. To Reject a Call 1. When the phone rings, press ENTER, and then NAVIGATION to select Yes / No; 2. Press ENTER to confirm. To Switch Between the Handset/Headset/Speakerphone During a Call Any of the audio devices can be used during a call. Only one device at a time can be used. The handset can be on the hook when using the speakerphone or headset function. If switching from the handset, make sure the speakerphone or headset button is pressed before placing the handset back on the hook. Page 20 of 55

To Redial a Call In standby mode, press the REDIAL to redial the last dialed number. To Mute / Unmute a Call Mute the handset, headset or speakerphone by pressing MUTE. This prevents the person on the active call from hearing what you or someone else in the room is saying. To cancel the Mute function, press MUTE again. Earpiece Volume / Speakerphone Volume You just press NAVIGATION during an active call to adjust the volume of the earpiece / speakerphone volume (1-6 level). 5.2 Handling Calls To Park a Call 1. Press ENTER to locate Call Park during an active call; 2. Press ENTER to activate, this places the call on hold. And you will hear the phone assign you a number (up to 3 digitals); 3. You will retrieve the call from another phone or from the same phone by dialing the assigned number. It will not work if the phone placing the call on Park has a busy diversion (you must hear a busy signal to retrieve the call). Call Waiting and Switch Between Calls 1. When you already engaged on an ongoing call, if another call is received, press ENTER to hold the first call on and hook up the second call; 2. Press HOLD to switch between the two calls. To Transfer a Call To transfer a selected call to another number in one of two ways: Blind transfer immediately redirects the call without allowing you to speak to the transfer recipient. Attended transfer Redirects the call after first allowing you to speak to the transfer recipient. Page 21 of 55

1. Press ENTER, and then press NAVIGATION to locate Call Transfer during an active call; 2. Press ENTER, and then press NAVIGATION to select Blind Trans / Attended Trans; 3. Press ENTER, dial the number you want to transfer the call to; 4. Press ENTER again, and hang up if you make Blind Transfer or hang up after speaking to the transfer recipient if you select Attended Transfer. You are allowed to make a blind transfer during an active call directly by pressing RECALL. To Hold a Call To place an active call on hold while in one of two ways: To hold and retrieve a call with Hold option in menu: 1. During a call, press ENTER, and then NAVIGATION to scroll Call Hold; 2. Press ENTER to hold the call; 3. Repeat the above two steps to retrieve the call. To hold and retrieve a call with HOLD : During a call, press HOLD to hold and press it again to retrieve. To Make a Conference Call 1. Connect the first party; 2. Press ENTER, and then NAVIGATION to select Conference; 3. Press ENTER, and key in the second party s phone number. The first party is put on hold; 4. When connected, press HOLD to connect the three parties together. Consultation Hold This feature is similar with Conference call, but as a host you can only connect to one party, while the other party is put on hold, the two parties can t be both on line at the same time. 1. 3. Press ENTER, and key in the second party s phone number; IP100 User Manual 4. When the second party is connected, press HOLD to toggle between speaking to first party and second party. 5.3 Phonebook Up to 50 records could be stored in each IP phone Phonebook. Each record can store up to 16 digits, and names of up to 10 characters. 1. Press Down of NAVIGATION as the shortcut key to enter the phonebook list. Or in standby mode, press MENU then ENTER to enter Phonebook mode. 2. Use NAVIGATION to scroll through the stored numbers, press ENTER again, and use NAVIGATION to view the operation list. 3. Press ENTER to dial the number you select. You are also allowed to add, edit, delete, check the details of your preferred number, even delete all of your records. 5.4 Call Settings To Set DND function DND is short for Do Not Disturb. With this function activated, the incoming calls will no longer come through to the phone and you will be completely undisturbed by the phone. 1. In standby mode, press ENTER to goes to the location Call Settings; 2. Press ENTER, the display shows DND, press ENTER again, and then NAVIGATION to select Disable / Enable; 3. Press ENTER to confirm the selection. To Set Call Forwarding There are three call forwarding options which allow you to redirect all incoming calls from your IP Phone to another extension number: Unconditional, Busy and No answer. Unconditional: Forwarding all calls to a specified Ext No. Busy: Forwarding calls when phone is busy. No answer: Forwarding calls if there's no answer. Page 23 of 55

1. Select Call Forwarding under Call Settings mode; 2. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Unconditional / Busy / No answer; 3. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Disable / Enable; 4. Press ENTER to confirm or key in extension number if you enable the option, then press ENTER to save. To Set Follow-me With the Follow-Me function, your contacts can reach you wherever you are. And you can log into the phone system from different location with the Use Follow-me enabled in another IP phone under same network. 1. Select Follow me under Call Settings mode; 2. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Disable / Enable; 3. Press ENTER to confirm. To Set Use Follow-me 1. Select Use Follow me under Call Settings mode; 2. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Disable / Enable; 3. Press ENTER to confirm or key in extension number if you enable the option, then Press ENTER to save. Voicemail boxes To use voicemail, voice mail service must be available on your voice network. To Disable / Enable Voicemail boxes 1. Select Voicemail boxes under Call Settings mode; 2. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Disable / Enable; 3. Press ENTER to confirm. To Listen to Voicemail 1. Pick up Handset or press SPEAKERPHONE; 2. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Listen Voicemail; 3. Press ENTER to listen. Page 24 of 55

To Set Intercom With this function, you can use one-way and press-to-answer voice connections using a dedicated pair of intercom on two phones that speed dial each other. Note: Intercom function depends on your IP PBX support. To Set To set Call Redirect Allows you to redirect all incoming calls from your IP Phone to PSTN lines, your IP phone must work with a IP-PBX which supports this function. 1. Select Call Redirect under Call Settings mode; 2. Press ENTER and NAVIGATION to select Disable / Enable; 3. Press ENTER to confirm, and key in the extension number. 5.5 Call Logs Note: You must subscribe to Caller ID service from your service provider to use this feature. Call Logs store information related to Received calls, Missed calls and Dialed calls. You phone can store up to a maximum of 30 calls, consisting of 10 Received, Missed and Dialed calls respectively. To dial a number from Call Logs 1. In standby mode, press ENTER and NAVIGATION to enter Call Logs; 2. Press ENTER again, and press NAVIGATION to scroll through MISSED, RECEIVED and DIALED; 3. Select one of them and press ENTER to confirm, choose the number you wish to check by NAVIGATION button; 4. Press ENTER again, use NAVIGATION to view the operation list (Dial, Save, Edit, Delete, Delete all, etc) 5. Press ENTER to dial the number you select. You are also allowed to add, edit, delete, check the details of your preferred number from the call logs, even delete all your logs here. Page 25 of 55

6 Understanding the Web User Interface 6.1 To access the web interface 1. Open your browser. 2. Enter default factory setting IP address: 10.0.0.99 in administration computer address field and use the account: admin and password: epicrouter to access the IP Phone Administration web interface The IP Phone Web Interface is divided into three sections top, left, and main panes. Navigation is done using the top and left panes. These panes display the menus and links that you can select to go to a certain configuration page. 6.2 The Basic Web Interface The Basic Web Interface contains two parts, the Status and Configurations. Click one link on left pane to view the certain page. Overall Status Shows you the software module versions, the registration status and the network connections status. Figure 6 Overall Status page Version: Shows the BSP Module Version, PTM Module Version, ATAAPP Module Version and Firmware Version. Registration Status: Shows whether the IP Phone is registered to the server or not. WAN Connection Type: Shows you the connection type, which can be static IP or DHCP Client. WAN Statistic: Displays the WAN settings of the IP phone. LAN Statistic: Displays the LAN settings of the IP phone. LAN Status Shows you the number of Ethernet devices connected to the DHCP server. Figure 8 DHCP Client Status page PPP Status The PPP Status page shows the status of each PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) session for each PPP interface. Figure 9 PPP Status page Connection Name: This is user defined. User defined connections for PPP can be created in PPP Configuration page. Interface: States the interface that is being used (Ethernet 1 or VPNO). Mode: There are two available modes for the connection: PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) PPP over VPN (PPPoV) Status: Shows whether PPP connection is connected or not. Packets Sent: Number of packets sent by a particular PPP Connection. Packets Received: Number of packets received by a particular PPP Connection. Bytes Sent: Number of bytes sent by a particular PPP Connection. Bytes Received: Number bytes received by a particular PPP Connection. Connect and Disconnect: This field allows you to manually connect/disconnect the PPPconnection for each PPP interface. In other words, each PPP session can be connected and disconnected individually. Connection #: Specifies the PPP session to be connected/disconnected. Connect/Disconnect Execute: Press this button to connect or disconnect. Connection status dialog will be displayed below the Execute button after it is pressed. Sample dialog with explanation: PPP X: Connecting... This is displayed while the PPP session is attempting to connect to the ISP. PPP X: Connect ERROR This is displayed when a connection cannot be made due to an error. PPP X: is currently not connected This is displayed when a disconnect attempt is made on a session that is not currently connected. PPP X: does not exist! This is displayed when a connect or disconnect attempt is made on a session number that does not exist. Page 28 of 55

TCP Status These fields show you the TCP (Transfer Control Protocol) status. You are allowed to reset the counters by clicking Reset Counters. Figure 10 TCP Status page General: Total Packets, Data Packets, Data Bytes, Out of Order Packets, Out of Order Bytes Discarded Packets: Bad Checksum, Bad Offset Header, Too Short Connections: Initiated, Accepted, Established, Closed. Reset Counters: This button allows user to reset the TCP Status counter. System Log Shows the events triggered by the system. This page contains information that is dynamic and will refresh every 5 seconds. Figure 11 System Log page Log Message: Allows you to choose the type of the log message shows below. ALL Event Clear Log: This field allows you to clear the current contents of the System Log. Save Log: This field allows you to save the current contents of the System Log by right click HERE and select Save Target As to save it into a text file. WAN Configurations Allows you to do WAN side configurations, which contain Bridge, IGMP, Static IP Settings, DHCP Client, MAC Spoofing and PPP. Page 29 of 55
