Question: I want to point my domain name to my new RE/MAX website. How do I do this? Solution: How to change your Name Servers to point to your RE/MAX website This 17 step document deals directly with changing Name Servers for Godaddy.com and does not show any other domain name hosting companies. However you can use this document to help you find and change your name servers to point to your RE/MAX Website for your hosting company. Use this document ONLY if you do not use your domain name as your email. NOTICE MUST READ: Before you change your name server for your domain name. IF you use your domain name as your email address... Example: your domain name is www. Marysue.com and your email is marysue@marysue.com then you will NOT use this document. You will need to use the Cname PDF document found under the Help Documents buttons on your agent intranet area located on the left hand side of the page.
Step 1: Log into your godaddy account. NOTE: If you do not have your user name and password you will need to contact your previous website hosting company for that information. Or you can select the forgot your password link under password and have the information sent to you
Step 2: Select My Account
Step 3: On the left hand side of the screen you will see the area named Domain Names. Select Manage Domains
Step 4: Select the ballot box next to the domain name you want to point to the new website. Make sure the Check Mark is in place Step 5: Select Set Nameservers button
Step 6: Right hand side of page you will see Set Name Servers Step 7: Select the radio button for Custom Name Servers. You will need to change the Name Server 1 and 2 to the following: For Mid-States Regions (KS, MO, AR, OK) ns1.midstatesrealestate.com ns2.midstatesrealestate.com For Dixie Regions (AL, LA, MS) ns1.dixiestatehomes.com ns2.dixiestatehomes.com Step 8: Select Save Changes button. Allow 24 to 48 hours to propagate.
Step 9: Select Logout link. This completes the changes on your godaddy account. Now we need to tell your RE/MAX website that the domain name is changing. Continue
Step 11: Login to your agent intranet on your website.
Step 12: Select User Manager tab.
Step 13: Select Domains tab.
Step 14: Enter in your domain name that you changed the name servers on Godaddy dotcom. NOTE: You do not enter www Step 15: Select Submit button.
Step 16: Select Ok button
Step 17: NOTE: Your domain name will move upward into Current Domain and the status will be pending Give the system 24 to 48 hours to propagate. If after 2 days the link to your domain name does not connect to your website then place a ticket into www.remaxtrainer.com under Domain Names
