The software was created using Visual Basic 6.0 and the OTC medications were prescribed. National Interest Projects / Experience LACE TOOL implementation and design for preventing readmissions in the Hospital Ø Software/Algorithm with a User Interface developed to generate LACE TOOL to prevent readmissions Ø Process involved gathering information, software design, software development and implementation to case managers Ø Compiling data from multiple data sources to the data warehouse and producing automated LACE score reports on a daily basis Ø LACE Score was presented at Siemens Innovations 2011, and innovative idea was shared with nationwide hospitals around the country for reducing readmissions Ø Virginia Hospital is currently implementing the same tool to reduce readmissions Modified LACE TOOL to improve the accuracy of prediction of potential readmission in the Hospital Current Ø Software Design, and development to generate MODIFIED LACE TOOL considering different attributes to improve the tool for more accurate results Ø Attributes that acts as variables in performing patient care will be measure and considered to modify the algorithm Ø The new MODIFIED LACE TOOL will be then available to Care Managers Inpatient and Outpatient to plan discharge summary, and improve the patient care to prevent a potential readmission Remote Patient Blood Pressure Monitoring and Medication Mobile Monitoring Ø Software Design and development to generate patented mobile application to document blood pressure monitoring real time transferred to the physician for more instant outcomes Ø Nurse or Physician modifies medications required to control blood pressure, which is

Ø This was recently awarded as one of the best remote telemedicine software through the American Telemedicine Association, ARC Regional Committee. Real Time Virtual ICU aka VICU (Virtual ICU: Remote treatment virtualization in Intensive Care Units by Pulmonologists and other Specialists Ø Hardware and software designed to treat patients remotely in Intensive Care units Ø Treatment options developed so that doctor can be consulted remotely without travelling and thus reducing pre- treatment time across the town Ø New innovative technology currently being used by hospitals. Ø Won $20,000 Foundation Award solution that reduced provider treatment waiting time and process, and gave the patients a better touch of care through Intensivists and technology. ED Tracking System through Passive RFID and real time tracking through software: Ø RFID ( Radio Frequency Identification) Technology was used to identify the patient location in the Emergency Department Ø Turnaround times, the time between the auxiliary departments and the ED was monitored. Ø Software was developed for real- time monitoring patient location in the Emergency Department and around the hospital Ø ED RFID was presented at Siemens Innovations 2011, and this idea and technology implementation was shared with nationwide hospitals across the country Design of Sound Recording Stethoscope for Lung and Heart Sounds: Ø Designed and developed a sound recording stethoscope that can use for recording lung

6 sounds and heart sounds. Ø Analyzing, capturing, filtering and other recording functionalities using a custom stethoscope and software. Ø Used this to train different residents at the hospitals to carry on medical research with a team of physicians and residents Ø It was utilized to send heart and long sounds from rural hospitals to specialists in urban area hospitals Biomechanical and Statistical Analysis of Cuff method and developing Supplemental Design of Minimally Invasive Blood Pressure Sensor for Vascular Surgeries Ø Analysis of practical data sets was performed Ø Data was collected from hospitals and patient diaries having history of breast cancer. Ø Biomechanical analysis of peripheral arteries and veins were performed. Supplemental design of minimally invasive blood pressure MEMS sensor was designed. Ø Stent and Graft manufacturing methods were analyzed. Integrated Engineering Electronics Center, System Science and Industrial Engineering of Binghamton University funded project. Integration and Design of Nano- Sensors for Nuclear Testing using Nanotechnology, Department of Energy Ø Design, Manufacturing, and Integration of Printed Circuit Boards with an array of Nano- sensors to test the inert gases. Ø The set up was an experimental model for the Wireless Nano- Sensor Array System for sensing nuclear gases. Ø This DOE funded project was designed to be used for detecting nuclear gases and other nuclear materials used in nuclear prompt areas.
