Expertise in providing psychological services within professionally diverse, team-oriented environments to individuals and groups from a broad spectrum of cultures and nationalities. Current Research Programs Development of reading intervention program for at-risk students as tier 2 of a response to intervention program in two local elementary schools. Research is focused on monitoring the success of the intervention program in improving student reading skills with empirically based interventions and practical applications for schools developing such programs. Measurement of the effects of an intensive, university based after school program for gifted students on self-efficacy, student engagement, attitude toward school, and grades. Professional Experience August 2002 - Present Associate Professor and School Psychology Program Director Abilene Christian University Abilene, Texas Provide training to graduate students in the masters program in school psychology, including orientation to the field of school psychology, ethics, assessment of cognitive and achievement, the development of functional behavioral assessments and behavioral intervention plans, prevention and intervention program development and evaluation, including crisis intervention, and the assessment of emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents. Provide university supervision to school psychology masters degree students in practicum and internship experiences, including staffing of cases, guidance in working within the school system effectively, and the provision of direct and

2 indirect services within in the schools, including assessment, intervention, and consultation. Provide administrative leadership for the psychology department and university regarding the school psychology program, including assuring that the program meets state and national standards of training and students and faculty have ongoing interaction within the profession both regionally and nationally, and advising of school psychology graduate students. Develop continuing education programs for both current students and local professionals. Serve as university liaison to community news media sources regarding the fields of school psychology and psychology in general through interviews in both television and newspaper mediums. Provide instruction to undergraduate students in child psychology, introduction to exceptional children and adolescents, psychology as a career, and psychology seminar focusing on identifying career interests and skills and preparation for application to graduate education or employment. Provide research team training and leadership to graduate and undergraduate students, including literature review, gathering data, entering and analysis of data on SPSS, writing and professional presentation. Provide educational and administrative supervision to undergraduate students participating in study abroad experiences in Montevideo, Uruguay and Oxford, England. Specifically, supervised student teachers working in the American and British International Schools in Uruguay. Accomplishments include: o Lead research teams with over 20 undergraduate and graduate students leading to successful presentation at the state and national level as well as multiple awards for student research. o Developed reading intervention program for at-risk students in two local elementary schools which resulted in 80% of clients passing the state academic competency test on first administration and 95% on second administration and 80% of students moving from at high risk for reading failure to at low risk (as measured by the DIBELS) within six months of beginning the program. o Conducted program self-study, gathered and analyzed information and data and created folio of program evaluation in order to apply for program approval by the National Association of School Psychologists. The program was fully approved in January of 2003 and 2005.

o o o o 3 Developed program handbooks and official guidelines according to the standards of the National Association of School Psychologists. Applied for and received grants of materials for instructing students in assessment worth a total of $30,252.93. Conducted research and presented at national, state, and local conferences. Developed and taught seminar for interns which increased student pass rate on first time administration of state licensure examination from 53% to 78% in one year and 100% in three years. January 1999 August 2001 Consultant American Clinics International - Budapest, Hungary Provided academic, developmental and behavioral assessments for children aged 3-18 years, together with educational and behavioral recommendations and consultation with parents and teachers. Provided consultation for physicians and clinic staff regarding patient mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder. Provided school psychology consultation for the International American School of Budapest and International Christian School of Budapest, including individual assessments and consultations. October 1997 - January 1999 Director of Mental Health Services American Medical Center - Warsaw, Poland Developed procedures for referral, client assignment, case staffing and delivery of mental health services to clients. Developed an employee assistance program for corporate clients, which included cultural orientation and transition support services. Provided administrative supervision to mental health services staff. Facilitated small group counseling and training sessions which covered such topics as transition, adjustment issues in children and assertiveness training. Provided problem-solving therapy for individuals and families addressing a variety of issues, including cultural transition and adjustment issues. Provided academic, developmental and behavioral assessments for children aged 3-18 years, together with educational and behavioral recommendations and consultation with parents and teachers. Provided school psychology consultation for the American School of Warsaw and British School - Warsaw, including individual assessments and consultations, counseling services for students,

4 parents and staff, in-service training seminars for teachers and staff, and primary supervision of a pre-doctoral school psychology intern. September 1996 - January 1999 Consultant Peace Corps - Warsaw, Poland Developed a peer counseling program utilizing problem-solving techniques, and trained volunteers and staff in program use. Provided problem-solving therapy for individual volunteers. September 1996 - October 1997 Private Practice - Warsaw, Poland Provided problem-solving therapy for individuals and families and play therapy for children. Provided individual academic, behavioral and developmental assessments, together with specific recommendations and parent and teacher consultation. Developed and facilitated small group training sessions focusing on issues such as cultural transition and parenting skills. July 1995 June 1996 Pre-Doctoral School Psychology Intern Ft. Worth Independent School District - Ft. Worth, Texas Provided evaluation and diagnosis of special needs in children aged 3-18 years. Areas of special need included learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, emotional disturbance, mental retardation and autism.
