4.10 Protection from rodents and insects Protocols are installed in order to reduce sites where insects may reproduce, to protect horses from overwhelming insects and to control rodents. HORSES AND PONIES Copies of invoices and letters from veterinarian and farrier 5.1 Condition of livestock Horses are in good physical condition; Feet are trimmed; No evidence of wounds, or wounds are treated; Proof of regular care is provided, including deworming program and tooth care (letters or copies of invoices from veterinarian and farrier); A record is kept of care administered to each horse; School horses and rental horses are clean. 5.2 Quality of feed Feed is of good quality (sufficient quantity); Hay is stored in a location allowing quality to be conserved; Grain is stored in a clean, closed container, sacks of grain are stored safely and protected from rodents; Clean drinking water is available and in sufficient quantity to fulfill daily requirements; Salt is available. When several boarded horses are turned out together, a solid door or a buffer zone is required. This may be inside the paddock or may cover the entire site; For horses kept permanently outdoors: the paddock must be equipped with a shelter a minimum of 9 (3 m) in height. It may be natural or constructed. In this case, it must possess at least: 1 wall, a roof, and one or several openings measuring at least 4 (1.2 m) per horse (5 horses = 20 (6.1 m) total openings. Feed tubs and water bowls must be installed outside the shelter; For horses kept permanently outdoors, the paddock must be equipped with at least one automatic water bowl (with floater) or with one or several water buckets with a total capacity equal to the daily water requirements for each horse; Paddock footing is free from protruding objects, materials or other; Horses must have access to salt. 6.2 Riding rings (except breeding farm excluding those used for breaking in colts) As a guideline, for horses we are speaking of a minimum of 60 X 100 (18.3 m X 30.5 m); As a guideline, we are speaking of a minimum de 50 X 50 (15.2 m X 15.2 m); Fences are clean and in good condition, with posts on the outside; Material (wood: 2" X 6" (5.08 cm X 15.24 cm) or 4" X 4" (10.16 cm X 10.16 cm) minimum), (wire: squares 2" (5.08 cm) large by 4" (10.16 cm) maximum, (cord with rupture point every 16 (4.8 m) maximum), (barbed wire prohibited), and (others, to be approved); Minimum height: horses: 4 (1.2 m); ponies : 3 (0.9 m); horses and ponies: 4 (1.2 m). Protuberances of more than one inch such as window frames, garage doors, grates, etc., must be corrected to avoid any possible injury to riders and horses. A layout which distances horses from the wall is preferable. For openings of more than 8" (20.3 cm), a protection must be put in place (fence, cord, etc.); Doors open easily; Arena is free of any and all material that is not necessary for teaching or practice (except for jumps which must be arranged in a way that does not impede riders when not in use). However, in corners, up to a distance of 6 (1.8 m) from the corner, it is acceptable to store material; Windows or mirrors placed less than 6 (1.8 m) from the ground must be protected by a grate or bars; Footing is non-skid, flat and free of rocks. 9 GUIDE PRATIQUE D'ÉVALUATION

6.4 Permanent and temporary observation areas (indoor arena or outdoor riding ring) OP Observation area for spectators is safe and comfortable, installed behind a rigid and solid protection (kick-board, fence, grate) or in an adjacent room with a window. For special occasions, when the centre receives a larger group of people, it is acceptable to define the area with cones at least 24 (61 cm) high, placed at 3 (0.9 m) intervals from each other, and at least 6 (1.8 m) from the spectators. A cord with ribbons placed at intervals of 3 (0.9 m) could also be used. This is a temporary measure used only for the duration of the event. 6.5 Departure and arrival area (for equestrian tourism centres for short and long trail rides and trail riding and equestrian tourism training centre) Area is free of cement or asphalt; Departure area is sufficiently large (at least 300 sq. ft. (28 sq. m) per horse) and defined on at least three sides; Stable door is placed in such a way as to prevent horses returning to the stable if it is open. 6.6 Access ramp (therapeutic riding centre) OP Access ramp or mounting block is in good condition; Placed on the track, the mounting block must not have protruding parts that could impede horses or riders moving on the track. The ramp must be closed when not in use. TEACHING AND TRAIL RIDING EQUIPMENT 7.1 Tack (except breeding farm) Tack is clean, in good condition and free of emergency repairs; Each horse has its own bridle; Number of saddles corresponds to the number of horses; otherwise protocol is provided. Protocol for use of saddles and saddle pads upon request 7.2 Teaching and equestrian tourism equipment (except breeding farm) Equipment is in good condition, safe and in sufficient quantity. 11 GUIDE PRATIQUE D'ÉVALUATION

SUPERVISION AND PROGRAMMING 8.1 Training of personnel Verification of the good standing status of all personnel who have dealings with customers using information found in the descriptive files. For day camps and vacation camps only. APPENDIX First aid kit for humans 1 First aid kits must be found in an easy accessible location and they must be available at all times. The establishment must have an adequate number of first aid kits (the time required to reach a kit must be less than 5 minutes). Definition: NOTE THE NUMBER OF ITEMS PRESENT IN THE KIT Kit: First aid kit consisting of a protective case divided into compartments to store the first aid material required in the present rulebook, and on the outside of which there is a cross large enough to be recognizable.
