User Guide Bet Mover Introduction Bet Mover has a very specific purpose: To find bets, based on qualification rules, around the movement in odds of horses on the Betfair betting exchange. A system comprises of a set of price points and one or more movement rules. A system also has static options including staking and race filters. Bet Mover allows up to 10 systems to be run at once and can be run on English, Irish, Australian and New Zealand horse racing. The prices of the horses used in your systems are collected form the Bet Mover web servers and not directly from Betfair (apart from the price at bet placement time). This results in a lot less stain on your PC and the software, meaning you can create systems needing prices in the past (like 8am) and the software will work perfectly as these prices have already been collected by us earlier in the day. You can also use highest and lowest prices of the day or within a time range without having to have the bot monitor the prices all day on your PC / Mac This way of doing things means you can run more systems and build up very complex systems with many prices and rules should you wish to. Prices are collected by the Bet Mover servers on the minute, every minute. The free web apps Bet Mover Markets and Bet Mover Mini both use the same source of information as the pro software. Bet Mover has a detailed data feedback system to show you all the activity that has occurred for each race and each system as well as a full bets history table and chart.
Logging In After opening the software the login screen will show: Enter your Betfair username and password and click Login. You can register for a Betfair account here if you need to. Registering your Software The first time you use the software you will be asked to register it. This is NOT registering it to a particular machine, but to your Betfair account. Once registered your license is locked to the account you logged in with. Enter the email you used to purchase the software and the Activation Code email to you. This is in 4 sets of 2 character, all in uppercase. The software will then monitor your activation status with Betfair, this can sometimes take a few minutes.
Adding a System Bet Mover has a modular method to building systems, this means you can keep things very simple or build them up to incredible complexity without it being cluttered and confusing. There are 10 system buttons on the top bar, clicking on one will show the system set up. To add a system, click the green add button: System screenshot: Each system has: System Settings Price Points Movement Rules The top bar contains a button to toggle the software from Running and Not Running. It must be clicked to activate the software for it to process each race and place bets.
System Settings The Systems Settings have 3 sections: Betting Options: Activate the system and set to Live or Training mode Set the stake If you want to target a profit (backs) / liability (lays), check the box next to the stake BSP checked if you want Betfair Starting Price If not BSP an exchange bet will be placed, you can chose a persistence this is what happens to the bet if it s unmatched when the race goes in-play. Bank% sets the stake to be a percentage of your betting balance. Bet types: Back or Lay. You can place the bets in the win market, the place markets or split the stake across both markets. The win stake percentage is set and the place market stake makes up the remaining portion, so your total spend is the stake set. You can adjust the ticks the number of price increments away from the current odds. Sure bet reduces the number of ticks making it very likely to get matched, value increases the odds thus your order will wait until the price on Betfair reaches that levels and if matched you will have gained better value. You can combine this with a persistence if you wish. You can delete the system with the red X, top right.
Bet Time Qualification These are applied the time of placing the bet The odds must be within the range set, unless 'Bet at Limit' is checked - this will still place the bet if the odds are of a worse value than the (min - back, max - lay), the bet will be placed at the limit you have set, it will remain unmatched on Betfair until its matched or your persistence setting is invoked at the of. Win markets and Place markets have their own odds ranges. The win odds ranges will only be available of Win or E/W is selected, place ranges only available if place or E/W is selected A runner range and a min amount to have been traded on the market can also be set. Race Qualification If the race is not in the country or the race type specified it will not be processed and no data about the race will be gathered. The system will NOT be updated automatically as you change settings. When you change to any setting, price point or movement rule the SAVE button will enable to prompt you to save the new settings.
Price Points A Bet Mover system uses the odds of horses at different times in the day or times to post for each race. The odds that it uses must be selected and set up by your price points, of which you can up to 5 for each system. There are 4 options with regard to what odds are used: 1. Minutes Before Post 2. Time of Day 3. Low Point 4. High Point Minutes before post time selects the odds of the horse as it was at the set number of minutes before the race official off time (it does not track a delayed race). Time of Day gets the odds as it was at a set time of day. Low Point selects the odds at its lowest recorded price. High Point selects the odds at its highest recorded price. Please note, the odds are recorded every minute, there could have been a lower or higher price traded in between times which will not be collected or used. Low and high options are for the whole day (up to the point of placing the bet which can be any time you set before post time). There is an optional range to collect low / high odds from. These both have minutes to post and time of day options for the form and to times. Here, Price Point 1 is set to look for the lowest price between 8am and noon (UK local time) The last price point only has a Minutes before Post option and this is the time that the system will look for race / runner qualification based on and the rest of the price point odds.
If you wish to place a bet at 1 minute to post but not include that in any qualification data, that s easy, just set the last price point to 1 and don t use that price point in any Movement Rules that you set up. You can add up to 5 price points, add more with the green add button, and a new price point will appear for you to configure: You can remove price points with the red X on each one, the top 2 will not have this option as you need at least 2 points for any system to work. In this set up the odds used are: 1. The biggest price between 8am and noon. 2. 10 minutes before the official off time 3. 1 minute before the official off time. They are referenced as price points 1, 2 and 3 and you can see that on the top right of each one. The last Price point has a WAP option. This stands for Weighted Average Price. If this is checked the odds for the final price point will be the average odds the horse has been during the day up until the minutes to post set.
Movement Rules Movement rules can be added and removed just like price points. You can have up to 25 sets of rules which makes Bet Mover very powerful and capable at simple and very complex sets of system rules. Each rules works with 2 price points that you set for each on the top right, the rule show here is working with the odds associated with price point 1 and 2. It could just as well be: 2 to 1 1 to 3 2 to 3 3 to 1 3 to 2 With a possible 5 price points there are many combinations of price point to and from options. The percentage movement is calculated from the first price point to the second (here is 1 to 2), this does not have to be in time order. Odds Range If the final price points odds are outside this range if will not qualify. If you want the movement rule to use the first price point you can switch the price points (and reverse the steamer drifter option to compensate) Moved This is the percentage movement in odds between the first and second price point chosen. For the purposes of the movement rule moved range a steamer has a positive movement if its reduced in odds, a drifter a positive is lengthened in odds. If this is outside the ranges set it will not qualify. The horses (for each rule) are ordered by percentage moved in a descending order. You may pick the biggest X number to qualify, if the runner is under this in moved ranking it will not qualify. If you select Within odds and moved ranges only horses that fall in these ranges will be included in the ranking and all outside the ranges are effectively forgotten.
Example: Odds range 2 17, Move Range 0 35%, only biggest 1 ranked horse qualifies. Horse 1: Moved 40%, Odds: 4.0 - odds range OK - Horse 2: Moved 30%, Odds: 20.0 - odds range NOT OK - Horse 3: Moved 20%, Odds: 10.0 - odds range OK - Horse 4: Moved 10%, Odds: 5.0 - odds range OK - move range NOT OK move range OK move range OK move range OK Within odds and moved ranges NOT selected: Horse 1 is the biggest ranked so horse 2, 3 and 4 are under top ranking so do not qualify. Horse 1 qualifies as the biggest mover but is not in the movement range so also does not qualify. Within odds and moved ranges IS selected: Horses 3 and 4 are within ranges, horses 1 and 2 are not and so these are ignored leaving Horse 3 as the highest ranked horse and (by default) has qualified in odds and move ranges, horse 3 qualifies, horse 4 is under top ranking so does not qualify Adding more Movement Rules This is done with the green add button, and removed with the red X, the top rules will always remain as you need at least 1 rule or the system to function. A horse must quality in each rule for it to be ordered by Bet Mover as a system qualifier.
Your Betting History All the bets Bet Mover makes are recorded on your PC / Mac for you to see at any time with an overall summary of performance. You can select to just see today s bets and chose to include a 5% commission in the calculation, this is done on the profit per bet not per market and so is an estimation of actual return. You can refresh the display, toggle the chart on and off, export to csv file or delete the whole lot with the bin button. The table can be sorted by clicking on the column headers.
Race Analysis All races in the day and a history of races, selected by date, can be viewed to determine more information about the race, the horse and the movements from your movement rules. Each system that was recorded for the race chosen has a tab for the data. There is also an overall markets bets tab for that race. The system tab has blocks of data that contain: The runners and outcome odds for winning and placed horses and one for each movement rule. These show the minutes to post (for minutes to post AND time of day options) and the percentage moved between each odds price point. Green bold text indicates a qualification in the rule, a green runner indicates a qualifying runner. A green background represents a winning horse, a light green background a placed horse. The bets placed on that system are shown underneath the system information. The data in this screenshot is an example taken from testing the software.
Systems Summary The System Summary tab shows basic details about each system you are running: The data can be filtered by active system only (including systems that have been active today), only data from the current day, and a commission can be applied to each bet in the same way as the bets history information. You can also export this data to a csv file.
General Settings The Setting tab contains rules to stop the software or any one system if it reaches a profit or loss target amount (in real money). It also has convenient activate and deactivate all buttons. General Stop Settings Check boxes activate the stop up and down system. The amounts are in actual profit made / lost. If the bot make profits or losses or over the values se the bot will be stopped. You can restart with the main start button (but must deactivate or reset the stop values to prevent it from stopping straight away) Systems Stop Settings If any systems profit / loss is triggered by these settings it will be deactivated, reactivation will occur the next day, by reactivating the system on the systems settings or via the 'Activate All' option on this page. Systems Stop Settings Activate or deactivate all of your systems in 1 click with these buttons.
IMPORTANT NOTES: Prices are collected by our servers are done with as much accuracy as possible, they can sometimes be a few seconds (on average 2.5 seconds) after the actual minute mark. Prices collected prior to a withdrawn runners are adjusted to account for the reduction factors of withdrawn horses. This is done automatically and there is not option to remove this functionality. Australian races Time of Day settings will not work, any races including with Time of Day settings will NOT be processed. AUS and NZ race odds are only collected within 30 minutes to post and are not collected if there is no money traded on the horse. In the main there is little or no data over 10 minutes to post time. His can be seen on www.betmover.com/free-webapps/bet-mover-markets/ on the AUS/NZ dropdown option. If you set Time of Day, an MPT of over 30 or a high / low range that s not within 30 MTP then the SAVE button will be deactivated if you have AUS or NZ selected.
