College of DuPage Part-Time Faculty Centers BIC 2406 and HSC 1235 Our mission is to support the part-time/adjunct faculty at College of DuPage. The following information covers the services offered by the BIC 2406 and HSC 1235 Part- Time Faculty Centers. Locations BIC 2406 (Berg Instructional Center) Phone: (630) 942-2303 HSC 1235 (Health and Science Center) Phone: (630) 942-3371 Accessibility Both centers are available for use by part-time/adjunct faculty members at all times. They can be accessed using your COD photo ID badge (BIC 2406) or classroom key (HSC 1235). Please be sure to keep the main door closed when working in the centers after staffed hours. Page 1 of 6

Staff Hours The BIC and HSC Part-Time Faculty Centers are both staffed according to the hours below: Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please be aware that the hours are subject to change and will be updated when necessary. Contact the centers directly if you have any questions regarding staff hours. Amenities While both centers have limited instructional supplies, mailboxes and Scantron machines, there are different amenities available at each location. Berg Instructional Center, BIC 2406 Computers There are 28 computers and 2 Xerox copiers for use at this location. Please note that the computers have limited memory and are intended for multiple users. Electronic files cannot be saved to the hard drive of these computers. Please remember to save your work to your personal flash drive or other storage device. Should you encounter problems with the computers, please contact our staff. Contact the IT HELP Desk directly at (630) 942-HELP (4357) for other technology issues. Lockers BIC 2406 has 108 lockers available for use by part-time/adjunct faculty members. To request a locker, please fill out and return a Locker Usage Request form at the beginning of each semester. The forms are available at the front desk and lockers are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Once you submit your request, our staff will assign you a key if a locker is available. There is a $10.00 replacement fee for any lost locker keys. Lockers must be cleaned out at the end of each semester and keys returned to the front desk. Scantron Machines BIC 2406 has 2 Scantron machines and forms to use. Postal Services You may drop interoffice and outgoing U.S mail in the bin by our front desk in BIC 2406. You can also drop-off mail or buy stamps in COD s main Mailroom area in BIC 0504, ext. 2249. Kitchenette There is a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and sink. A microwave can be found in the Faculty/Staff Commons located around the corner in BIC 2509. A classroom key is required to access this lounge. Page 3 of 6

Health Science Center, HSC 1235 Computers There are 19 computers and 1 Xerox copier for use at this location. Please note that the computers have limited memory and are intended for multiple users. General Information Regarding the Part-Time Faculty Centers Mailboxes Your division will assign your mailbox. Please be aware that your mailbox location may change each semester. You should visit your mailbox at least once a week during the semester as important information will be distributed to these mailboxes on a regular basis. Students Dropping off Assignments Students may drop off assignments to the BIC 2406 or HSC 1235 Part-Time Faculty Centers during staffed hours (see page 2). Please be sure that students are directed to the front desk at the center where your mailbox is located. The student will be asked to fill out the assignment sign-in sheet when turning in work. A staff member will then collect the assignment, date and time stamp the work, and place it into your mailbox. Please note, students do not have access to your mailbox. Page 4 of 6

Part-Time Faculty Center Printers and Copy Machines The printers and copy machines located in the part-time faculty centers are for limited use only. No more than 50 one-sided copies are allowed per instructor. The four digit charge code assigned by your division is needed to make copies and print. Please see a staff member for assistance if you do not know your code. Jobs of more than 50 pages, two sided copying, etc. must be submitted to the Print Center. The Print Center handles large jobs more efficiently. Additionally, they offer stapling, three hole punching etc. Please visit https://printcenter.cod.edu/ for more information. The Print Center is located in the Berg Instructional Center, BIC 0500. Copy requests should be submitted using your Print Center Online profile. The 16-digit charge code assigned by your division is needed to setup your profile. Please allow 48 hours for all copy request to be completed if you plan to pick up your order. If you d like the finished product delivered to your mailbox, please allow an additional 24 hours for the package to be sent through the interoffice mail system. Office Supplies General office supplies are available for day-to-day classroom needs in small quantities. This includes pens, pencils, folders, staples, index cards, and dry erase markers. Please do not leave any of these supplies in the classrooms. Instead, keep them with you throughout the semester. If you need larger quantities or an item that our office doesn t provide, please contact your division office. College of DuPage Forms Our offices keep a supply of most forms that you may need throughout the academic school year. Please see the front desk to obtain these forms. Forms can also be found within the insidecod portal. Additional Information Obtaining COD Photo ID/Swipe Badge A photo ID/swipe badge can be obtained from the COD Police Department located in HEC 1040. Contact (630) 942-4280 for additional information. In additional to being an ID, this badge is used as your library card and also allows you to gain entrance to current technology classrooms with swipe entries, staff parking lots, and the BIC 2406 Part-Time Faculty Center. Obtaining Your COD E-mail and Network Accounts Once entered into the personnel system by Human Resources, Information Technology (IT) will establish your COD e-mail and network accounts. Your specific information and directions are then mailed to your home address. Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) in SRC 1105/1107 TLC hosts training on Blackboard, myaccess and other topics that can help with you with your classes.
