Best Practices In this section we include some examples of Best Practices of which we are particularly proud of and which are the evidence of the positive impact of activities conducted by FESM. Academic Recognition By the Decision of the Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of 27 January 2014 FESM was authorized to confer the degree of doctor of economic sciences in the discipline of finance. Until recently FESM was only allowed to confer doctoral degrees in the disciplines of economics and management science. This decision to allow FESM to grant doctoral degrees in finance is a recognition of the achievements of its faculty members in this discipline. External Recognition For many years FESM has been a member of Eduniversal, an institution which annually announces the ranking for the best graduate programs and Master of Business Administration studies. In the academic year 2013/14 two of FESM s specializations Entrepreneurship and management of small and medium-sized enterprises and Investment and real estate were among the hundred best in their respective categories. FESM has been included by Eduniversal in its world ranking list of one thousand best business schools, and due to that has been awarded the so-called Three Palms. FESM has a teaching staff that is not only involved in the activities of the Faculty, but they also work for a variety of institutions and projects nationwide. Aldona Glińska-Neweś funded by the National Science Centre in the amount of 243,880 PLN - the agreement dated 21.05.2014. research project entitled: Non-parametric identification and forecasting non-linear dynamics of financial processes, under the guidance of Witold Orzeszko, Ph.D. funded by the National Science Centre in the amount of 104,650 PLN - agreement dated 21.05.2014. a research group led by Professor Zenon Wiśniewski developed for the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy an innovative methodology for profiling the unemployed, enabling early identification of people at risk of long-term unemployment, the methodology has been presented at a conference entitled Analysis of factors affecting the increased risk of long-term unemployment, which took place on 22 January 2014 in Warsaw research project entitled: Simulation procedures in forecasting the business cycle with the use of threshold models, under the guidance of Prof. Dr Hab.
