EXECUTIVE SUMMARY U.S. recruiters are among the most active recruiters in the world using social media to source talent. This inside look at social recruiting in the USA provides insight into which regions are most actively leveraging social media to source talent while identifying which industries recruit most heavily across the big three social networks (Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter). The report shows that the Northeast region is the most active in social recruiting, home to five of the top ten states posting jobs to social networks. In addition, the Midwest is the least active region in social recruiting across the entire U.S. While there is a wide variation of use across industries, jobs in the restaurant, advertising and nonprofit industries are posted to social networks with the greatest regularity. However, this finding is unique by region. Finally, this report measures state-specific rankings of social recruiting activity among U.S. recruiters. While 21% of jobs are posted to all three networks, 21% are not posted to social media sites at all. Our data reveals that the majority (55%) of U.S. jobs are posted to two or more social networks at a time, while 24% are only posted to just one. LinkedIn remains the most widely used network for social recruiting, followed by Twitter. Facebook is still trailing, with only 25% of U.S. jobs being posted to the social media site.
