Cloud Computing in Medical Diagnosis for improving Health Care Environment Dr.V.Jeyabalaraja 1,Dr.M.S.Josephine 2 1 Professor, Velammal Engineering College, 2 Professor, Dr.MGR University, jeyabalaraja@gmail.com, josejbr@yahoo.com Abstract: Medical diagnosis refers to both the process of attempting to determine or identify a possible disease or disorder. Healthcare environment depends mainly on Information Technology to provide best service and accuracy of information to their patients. This paper deals with using cloud technology to create network between patients, doctors, and healthcare institutions by providing applications, services, diagnosis of the disease and also by keeping the entire data in the cloud. As the cloud adoption in healthcare evolves, we expect a major chunk of healthcare services to move into cloud; and this would let healthcare players focus on providing cost effective and efficient healthcare services. This paper encompasses the impact of cloud computing which simplifies data of the disease diagnosis availability anywhere and accessible to the doctors and patient. The Meta data available in the cloud gives fast identification of disease and cures the patient as early. This service necessity for all over the world, it provides in India. Cloud computing have sever pros and cons. According to that, t h i s paper also highlights thelearning and sharing opportunities diagnosing the disease in the healthcare environment. Introduction The combination of rising expectations and a rapid rate of change, pose a challenge to traditional approaches for information technology (IT). A new approach is needed to free individuals and organizations from the constraints of traditional IT. Cloud is a new c o m p u t i n g paradigm. In Cloud, IT resources and services are abstracted from the underlying infrastructure and provided on-demand and at scale in a multi-tenant environment. Healthcare organizations of all sizes, across all geographies, can access information technology resources that previously were out of reach. World-class applications and computing infrastructure are available to all without considerable up-front investment. Cloud makes new business models possible and unlocks revenue potential, for healthcare entities. Hospitals and other healthcare providers can enter new markets, respond more quickly to changing customer needs, collaborate more effectively to drive innovation and business value, and execute on strategies that might not have been costeffective in the past. In health care environment, the method of differential diagnosis is based on finding as many candidate diseases or conditions as possible that can possibly cause the signs or symptoms, followed by a process of elimination or at least of rendering the entries more or less probable by further Integrated Intelligent Research (IIR) 458
Volume: 02, December 2013, Pages: 458-462 medical tests and other processing until, aiming to reach the point where only one candidate disease or condition remains as probable. The final result may also remain a list of possible conditions, ranked in order of probability or severity. This diagnosis Meta data are uploaded into the cloud. Meta data can access in the cloud with people. The diagnosis is based on the expert and stores the result into the cloud. Cloud computing Cloud computing is a new general purpose internet based technology through which information is stored on servers and provided as a service on demand to clients. Whether the cloud is available in a pay-asyou-go manner to the general public or for internal processes of an organization, it is referred to as a public cloud or private cloud. In Cloud Computing, Virtual Machines (VM) will be running different software in parallel instead of having to run only one application. This technology drives down costs and increases resource Integrated Intelligent Research (IIR) applications provided by the data centers are referred to as Software as a Service (SaaS) and the hardware system provided by the data center is referred to as Cloud. SaaS, PaaS and IaaS: Infrastructure as a service provides Computing resources such as servers, storage, and other forms of low level network and hardware resources offered in a virtual, on demand fashion over the Internet. Platform as a service focuses on enabling SaaS applications, which based on the idea for renting software from a service provider rather than buy it. The software is hosted on central n e t w o r k s e r v e r s t o m a k e service available over the intranet. utilization b y d e l i v e r i n g resources f o r a period of requirement only and hence deduces ICT (Information and Communication Technology) capital budget reservation. Because of its scalability, pay on demand, easy implementation and also according to Rozmic case study; Cloud is best for lower capital outlay. 459
Volume: 02, December 2013, Pages: 458-462 Based on the requirement, services can be made public, private, hybrid or community oriented. These can be made available between patients, doctors, and organization by working out proper access rights among them and can be made legal. Microsoft s Health Vault and Google Health have already taken their initiative in giving health services. Medical diagnosis in cloud- Methodology Now a day s the people in the world are sick with so many health problems and there are some problems which are unknown to the doctors also so in that situations the doctors need to know how to treat that patients, to Integrated Intelligent Research (IIR) overcome this type of problems we suggested a new era of technology called cloud computing in medical diagnosis. Here the doctors has to prepare some document whenever he got any critical cases which he has ever seen and treated in that situation he has to make it a document that is how to treat that patient. There are some points that a doctor need to mention while documenting regarding a problem they are Symptoms, Analysis, and Treatment. Some researchers find out the problems and place all the results into the cloud. The researcher manages the concept of experiments and find out the treatments. 460
Here if the doctor found any disease that he has ever seen then, at first he has to mention the symptoms of that disease and make a note of it to inform other doctors, if any doctor faces the same disease cases. It is possible only if the other doctor is friend to him or he is a doctor in an-other hospital in the same city/region. If the doctors not in the same city or region, when the data are implemented into the cloud, they knows how to solve the symptom disease. In the Analysis, after verifying all symptoms of the patient the doctor conclude that what type of disease it is and how it came and is it cures for normal treatment or he has to take a special treatment for that disease all these concerns are analyzed. After analyzing all the things regarding the disease the doctor will start the treatment, here in this phase doctor will give medicines to the patient and he has to mention what the medicines are given to the patient and the dosage of it. There are some points that the doctor has to follow while treating the patient. They are, Mention the medicines and dosage which are given to the patient; Observe the patient while the treatment is going on whether there any changes in his body or health; Mention w h i c h t y p e o f treatment he has given to the patient. Guide the patient, the doctor has to mention all the above while treating the patient. This leads to update the patient diseases, symptoms into the cloud meta data, any doctor can identify the disease using these meta data from the cloud. It is very easiest way to know all the doctors over the world through the cloud about the diseases which are very recently found and how to cure it, by applying this we can reduce death rate. By sharing the information on cloud the reputation of hospital and doctor will increase globally. The doctors will give treatment for all the diseases regularly in general but there are some cases which are very difficult cure in such cases the doctor willing to cure that as soon as possible and at last he will cure it, in Integrated Intelligent Research (IIR) 461
the same way if any doctor faces the same problem in the patient then it is very easy to inform that doctor about the disease and how to cure it if the second doctor is friend of another doctor or both the doctors are in the same city; if the same problem is arises in another country then it is very difficult to inform that doctor about the treatment and how to cure it. We ca n update data for diagnosis disease symptom, treatment into the cloud meta data, then the cure percentage will be more. Conclusion It is time to join hands with clinicians and computer specialists to proceed in order to implement the broad technology which suits small practices to large hospitals. The world is fast changing. At the heart of this change are cloud technologies that are also being accepted by the health care industry. Cloud computing w hic h enables c omputers a n d various other mobile devices to access shared files and applications online through the Internet instead of the local environment. Medical professionals now can share and promote information among others in similar fields in different locations. By using cloud computing will reduce the time required for patient to become into normal stage. Cloud computing will create a major impact on medicine, and contribute to an overall improvement in its quality. To conclude that if the encrypted treatment information of the patients is uploaded to the cloud, only authenticated receivers can decrypt it there by we can enhance the security to the information.
