RECRUITMENT CLERK Location : Application Deadline : Type of Contract : Post Level : Languages Required : Starting Date : (date when the selected candidate is expected to start) Duration of Initial Contract : Bonn, GERMANY 27-Apr-15 FTA Local GS-4 English French 04-May-2015 1 year initially Background Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Executive Coordinator, the Volunteer Recruitment Resources Section is responsible for building and maintaining the global talent pool in order to ensure a ready supply of suitable candidates to serve on international UNV assignments, as well as managing the identification and selection process related to fielding UN Volunteers. Under the overall guidance of the Chief VRRS and the direct supervision of the Recruitment Resources Associate, the Recruitment Clerk contributes to UNV s corporate objective in terms of fielded UN Volunteers in as much as it contributes to the management of UNV s global talent pool and provision of support functions for key stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities Handle general enquiries (in French and English) Respond to general enquiries from individuals interested in serving as UN Volunteers; Assist individuals facing difficulties during the registration process; Draft, update and translate into French standard enquiry templates as appropriate;
Review French Frequently Asked Questions and propose changes in line with evolving recruitment practices. Develop a pool of candidates for international UNV assignments Respond to enquiries from registered candidates regarding their status in the UNV candidate pool, and other recruitment related questions; Receive reports flagging possible duplicate records in the database and delete or merge confirmed duplicates as per established procedures; Obtain recommendations from Field Units regarding the past performance of UN Volunteers before re-including them as candidates in the UNV candidate pool and considering them for other UNV assignments; Follow-up with relevant personnel at UNV HQ or in Field Units on cases of database errors or data inconsistencies; Contribute to the development of database standards and procedures and apply them in all database management activities; Contribute to the process of upgrades to the web-based candidate gateway by identifying needs and proposing/testing solutions. Support Recruitment Associates in the identification and selection process Compile supporting documents requested from candidates (e.g. university degrees, references, recommendation letters, etc.); Follow-up with candidates considered for specific UNV assignments as and when required. Other related activities Contribute to the development and revision of VRRS communication and knowledge sharing tools for candidates and recruitment partners; Extract and disseminate reports, statistics and other information related to the UNV database; Participate in other VRRS activities as appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience Education: Secondary education; Additional training in human/volunteer resources management, office administration, or communication is highly desirable. Experience: 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in human/volunteer resources management, customer/client service, communication or office administration fields. Language Requirements: Fluency in English and French required; Knowledge of Spanish or another UN working language is desirable. Note:
