introduction Our Utilities and Landscaping Division is a dynamic and expanding part of Scottish Woodlands. Over the last 5 years the Division has entered new markets such as Adoption and Factoring of Landscape sites for private developers, and consolidated and diversified in existing markets, for example in Railway work we have added access steps and Level Crossing Maintenance to our Services Portfolio. The Division has three main current spheres of activity Link-Up approved Railway-related vegetation management, tree works, fencing and minor Civils works, Level Crossing Maintenance and tarmacing. Landscaping and grounds establishment maintenance for private housing and commercial developers hard and soft landscaping, SUDS Ponds, and Playparks. Vegetation management, tree works, ground clearance and other services for Electricity industry customers where Achilles Verify accreditation is required. The various skilled and experienced Managers within the Division have a range of skills that mean that we often combine our strengths to also offer other products and services, such as Local Authority and Domestic tree works, surveys and Arboriculture. Specialist security fencing, bespoke timber fencing, compounds and shelters. Woodland and Greenspace Consultancy, including design, recommendations and Site Agency works. We underpin our work with Safety, Environmental and Quality at the heart of our philosophy. Our Integrated Management system includes external accreditation to ISO 9000 and 14001, and in addition our Railway and Electrical operations are accredited to OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety. Our staff are trained in the application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), and we have a list of approved subcontractors who hold relevant competencies and certifications including CSCS, CIS Taxation Registration, PTS for Railway operations, and Electrical Awareness and NPTC qualifications for Powerline operations. At Balnacra, above, we replaced the Cattle grids, resurfaced the road and renewed the fencing and signage. The before and after shots (left) show how our white-lining trailer makes a lasting and quality finish on traffic boxes and road-lining. We also undertake carpark resurfacing and lining, and public bellmouths and other hard landscaping works.
