The Website Builder Bonzi s Website Builder is an easy to use website management tool that allows anyone, from first time web users to advanced coding gurus, to quickly and efficiently manage the content on their website. With a wide variety of drag and drop widgets, adding and updating information on your website will be a snap! Accessing the Website Builder There are two ways to access the website builder: 1. Click the purple Website Builder quick click button below you menu options and above your dashboard 2. Go to the menu option Communications > Web Site > Website Builder Website Builder Features and Tools When the Website Builder opens, you will see a copy of your website artwork and it will default to the home page. The Website Builder consists of two primary features - the Toolbox that provides you with the features and tools to create and edit content, and your Toolbar which allows you to review and save your content. The Toolbar consists of three actions: 1. Revert to Last Save: Allows you to revert to the last time you clicked save or the last time you published a page, so you can undo any changes you no longer wish to keep. 2. Save: You can save work, if you want to try something new, and revert if it doesn t quite work out. IMPORTANT: Your work is automatically saved for you when you close the Website Builder and when you click Publish. 3. Preview: You can also preview your work. This option will hide the Toolbar, Toolbox, and editing icons so can preview what your website visitors might see. Within the Toolbox there are three options that allow you to manage your website content: 1. Pages: Webpage management 2. Widgets: Content management
3. Image Library: Uploading and sharing graphics and pictures Managing and Creating Web Pages Managing and creating pages on your website is a breeze! With a simple click of a button, and using drag and drop features, you ll be able to easily create and update pages on your website! Adding Folders A new folder in your toolbox represents a container that can house other folders and pages. This item does not have any web content, but can house other pages and links. For example, in the image above, the folder named Registration houses different registration pages for different sport programs. NOTE: If you add a folder below Main Menu your new item will appear in the navigation menu on your website. 1. Select a folder or page in your Pages Toolbox so it is highlighted blue 3. Name your folder Adding Links A new link in your toolbox represents a link that can direct people to a page on your website or to a different website all together. This item does not have any web content. NOTE: If you add a link below Main Menu your new item will appear in the navigation menu on your website. 1. Select a folder or page in your Pages Toolbox so it is highlighted blue 3. Name your link, then at the bottom of the window, set your Where should the link go? options a. Select a Content Page on your own website b. Choose to link directly to a document in your Document Library for easy document/file sharing
c. Add a website address to direct visitors to an alternative website Adding Pages A new page in your toolbox is where you add website content and information. These pages are what work directly with your Widgets. Pages can be added below folders, below links, or below other pages for easy content nesting. NOTE: If you add a page below Main Menu your new item will appear in the navigation menu on your website. 1. Select a folder or page in your Pages Toolbox so it is highlighted blue 3. Name your page, add a friendly URL if needed, and choose a layout option a. A friendly URL is a custom URL title that allows users to easily find or link to this web page. By default, a page is named after a random string of letters and numbers. For example, most pages default address will look something like this: www.website.com/home.php?layout=841847. It is friendlier to name your web page www.website.com/contactus. b. You will see two layout options. One contains only 2 columns, and one contains 3 columns - with an added column on the right hand side of the screen.
Moving Pages/Folders/Links Moving pages, folders, or links can be done by dragging and dropping the page into the correct spot. Click on the item you want to move so it highlighted blue, drag the item to where it should be, then let go! If you are moving an item below another item, then you will see a plus sign indicating it will be placed below that item. If your items just need to be reordered, then you will see a line appear showing you where the item will be placed. Editing Pages/Folders/Links 1. Click on the page, folder, or link you wish to edit so it is highlighted blue 3. Edit available information Deleting Pages/Folders/Links 1. Click on the page, folder, or link you wish to delete so it is highlighted blue 3. Confirm your choice and click OK Selecting Pages for Content Updating Ready to add and edit content on your webpage? Double click the name of the page so your window loads the page s current content (if it s a new page, it will be blank). Once your window refreshes, it s time to start adding widgets and images! Uploading Images Ready to add images and graphics to your website? First you need to add images to your Image Library. This creates a special URL or image source for your graphics so you can easily reuse these images on any page of your website. There are two ways that you can upload images into your image library: 1. Inside your Website Builder Within your website builder, you can upload an individual image file, delete individual images, and drag and drop directly from the image library to specific widgets (such as the Sponsor Ads widget, the Story Layout widget, etc.) 2. Go to the menu option Communications > Website > Image Library Need to manage and review images in bulk? Go to the menu option above for more image options, including bulk image uploading. Adding Content to your Website Ready for the fun part? It s time to add widgets to your website! Below are basic instructions that apply to all widgets. You will also see Bonzi suggestion on the most popular widgets and what they are best used for!
NOTE: Don t forget to check out the Bonzi University to learn more about each individual widget available in the Bonzi Website Builder! Adding Widgets 1. Click on a widget in your toolbox 2. Drag the widget onto the page, where you want your content to go 3. Let go when you see a yellow bar appear 4. Adding content and choose your widget settings in the Editing window that automatically opens 5. Click Update when you are done! Editing Widgets You can edit any widget by clicking the small grey pencil icon in the top right corner of every widget box! Deleting Widgets 1. Click on the edit pencil icon in the top right corner of the widget you wish to delete 2. Click Delete 3. Confirm your choice and click OK Pinning Widgets Do you have information you want to post to every page of your website? Sponsor logos, calendars, contact information? It s easy if you simply pin your widget! Choose the button at the bottom of your Editing window and click Update!
