Request for Proposal Websites for St. Nicks Alliance, School Settlement Association, GREENLINE, OUTRAGE and GREC Project Description: St. Nicks Alliance, a 37 year old North Brooklyn community based non profit organization, seeks a web designer and content developer to redesign/create five websites: St. Nicks Alliance currently on a basic HTML platform School Settlement Association (strategic partner) currently on a Godaddy template GREENLINE the North Brooklyn Community News (owned by St. Nicks Alliance) currently on word press Greenpoint Renaissance Enterprise Corporation, GREC, strategic partner currently no website OUTRAGE currently no website Timeline: Web designer and content developer to be selected by January 10, 2013. All four websites to be launched by March 30 th, 2013. Statement of Work: While each website should be distinct with its own identity and designed with the end user in mind, a visual connection to all five sites representative of the strategic partnership is important in creating the four sites. All five sites should use the same web platform. The following are specific services and features sought for each site: St. Nicks Alliance & School Settlement Association (SSA) websites St. Nicks Alliance and School Settlement Association are two non profit, community and personal development organizations based in North Brooklyn. Both organizations are strategic partners. SSA is over 100 years old and is the oldest settlement house in Brooklyn. Each entity has its own mission, purpose and identity. We seek a review and edit of current copy for clarity, appropriateness, and brevity; a review and consolidation of pages to minimize number of steps and clicks by end users in finding/locating information; a clear and easy to use navigation bar; and features as follows: 1) Content can be easily updated by St. Nicks Alliance IT Office a) No loggin (or simple process) required from within the network 2) Home page a) Banner with rotating pictures reflecting work of all divisions b) Preset areas for recent news/upcoming events c) Banner ad space 3) Page structure for each of the six divisions or area of focus (Housing, Workforce, Business Development, Home care, Youth/Education, Arts & Culture ) and consistency across divisions a) Suggest one main page and then subpages for major programs b) Limit content length, use simple language to explain services to public c) Pic allowance for each subpage d) Division staff information, employee profiles

GREENLINE website GRENLINE North Brooklyn Community News is a 37 year old publication with a print circulation of 13,000 serving the North Brooklyn communities of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and parts of Bushwick. We seek a sleek, energetic, engaging and informative website representative of the diverse North Brooklyn community with the following features: 1) Content can be easily updated by the Editor and assistants a. No loggin required from within the network (or simple process) 2) Home page a. Banner with rotating pictures reflecting current events b. Preset areas for recent news/ upcoming events c. Banner ad space 3) Page structure for each category a. Suggest one main page and then subpages for major programs b. Limit content length, use simple language to explain services to public c. Pic allowance for each subpage 4) Community Calendar of events a. Easy to upload by users (public) but requiring a quick editor s approval b. Calendar view (currently in use) vs view http://www.metoperafamily.org/metopera/season/calendar.aspx 5) Social media tools a. FB, Twitter, text alerts b. GREC and OUTRAGE websites The Greenpoint Renaissance Entreprise Corporation (GREC) and Organizations United for Trash Reduction and Garbage Equity (OUTRAGE) are two neighborhood based consortiums in North Brooklyn with a focus on community advocacy. Each entity has a distinct mission, purpose and identity. There is currently no website for either group. 17) Other a) Google search engine b) Data Analytics (particularly for video content) capture who is watching/clicking c) Generally user friendly d) Clearly defined goal and theme of the messaging for OUTRAGE and GREC and affiliates e) Basic ecommerce capabilities i.e for classes, events, etc. St. Nicks Alliance will provide: All current logo files in Illustrator format Data to be incorporated into new site provided in Excel format or from existing database Guidance in developing searchable fields All current site copy and new content copy for GREENLINE, GREC and SSA new pages Technical Requirements Graphic Design We have existing logos for stnicksalliance.org and some of our initiatives, as well as a color palette that serve the entire organization. We have some photographs of clients and work we ve done with clients. We will also have a color palette, logos and fonts guide design for the new site. We don't have an inhouse graphic designer, however we do have source files (EPS, etc.) for most logos and images which we can repurpose or redesign as needed. High Level Functionality This is not a comprehensive list of all functionality that the site will have, but rather it gives a representative idea of the types of things we are looking to do. We would like to have downloads for PDFs, images, audio, and embeddable video. The site would have to be dynamic with home page featured stories, changing based on a timer or visit. Two areas of our site, the staff services section will require password protection for some of the documents and pages available there. Site Administration, user levels: Super Admin, Content Editor, Authenticated Users, others as needed. Common theme/consistent design Each section of the site should have a common look/theme. The appropriate logo should be on every page as well as a common header. Consistent font types and layout should be used throughout the site. Content management system (CMS) that is not heavily reliant on HTML coding (i.e. Joomla, Drupal etc. not Dreamweaver). Built with responsive principles in mind, for maximum functionality on a variety of screen resolutions and with a variety of input methods. Compatible devices include, but are not limited to, iphone, Android devices and ipad. Intuitive navigation Information should be grouped and presented in a logical manner and require no more than three levels of drill down for the user to find the desired information. Ability for in house staff to update any/all areas of the website (header, footer, photos, text) Ability to conduct secure financial transactions.

Ability to host sponsorship (ie, advertisement) banners one banner on the homepage and a section for internal rotating banners on the interior pages. Search function (by zip code, other suggestions welcome) for audiences to find St Nick s Alliance and affiliates and Map function for users to locate St Nick s alliance. Incorporation of social media/widgets. Incorporation and creation of upcoming events page /interactive calendar. Incorporation and creation of shopping cart feature, where users items will be listed in their shopping cart (icon) on all pages of website. Schedule: December 7, 2012 RFP released December 30, 2012 RFPs due to wperez@stnicksalliance.org January 2, 2013 Interviews begin with selected candidate firms January 10, 2013 Final selection announced March 30, 2013 All websites completed and launched Project Team: The Developer s project team must demonstrate clear experience in the following areas: 1) A working knowledge and understanding of web development, current web trends and techniques, including desktop and tablet design 2) Strong talent for visual design, layout and typography with excellent attention to detail 3) An on line portfolio that demonstrates ability to follow brand guidelines, art direction and to collaborate with clients 4) Advanced knowledge of CRM systems (i.e.joomla, WordPress etc ) 5) Knowledge of how to increase SEO 6) Project management skills ability to meet deadlines and show progress of work Budget: As a not for profit entity, St. Nicks Alliance has limited resources for the completion of this project and plans to spend an amount ranging from $25,000 to $30,000 on this project, based upon the proposals received and internal budget decisions. Proposal Requirements: All proposals should be submitted by email to wperez@stnicksalliance.org by 5pm on December 30, 2012. For the proposal to be considered it must include: A statement of interest A work plan and timetable indicating how and when the objectives will be met, milestones, required meetings and travel, and expected hours each team member will spend on the project per website Proposed fee and disbursement breakdown of budgeted costs for each component and stage of the work Proposed methodology The name of each team member committed to the assignment together with detailed resumes, highlighting personal involvement in similar projects

Work samples (can be submitted digitally) and three references All prices shall be based on supplying everything as proposed. The proposal should include a list of itemized costs that the developer will incur in his/her work including all hard and soft costs for both the developer and any sub contractors Any deviations from the detailed specification shall be clearly identified and explained by the developer in writing
