NEW FACILITY OhioHealth Rehabilitation Hospital opened August 2013 In a joint venture with Select Medical, one of the nation s leading operators of specialty hospitals and rehabilitative care, OhioHealth brings an inpatient rehabilitation hospital to central Ohio, focusing on the neuroscience patient. + + More patients are able to continue their recovery and rehabilitation with OhioHealth, creating a seamless continuum of care and the opportunity for improved outcomes. + + The new hospital increased OhioHealth s rehabilitation patient bed capacity from 15 to 44, allowing for more patients to stay with OhioHealth for their care. OhioHealth Rehabilitation Hospital caters to the neuroscience patient, providing individualized rehabilitative care to those that have suffered strokes or other brain injuries. Exercises are tailored to individual patient needs. AWARDS AND ACCOLADES ALS Clinic Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary August 16, 2013 marked the one-year anniversary of the OhioHealth ALS Clinic. The clinic has expanded its clinic days to two Fridays per month. The clinic is also one of The ALS Association s Recognized Treatment Centers, which means the clinic meets a national standard of best-practice care in the management of ALS. Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery Designation OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital have been designated as a Blue Distinction Center+ by BlueCross BlueShield Association for Spine Surgery. This means we provide comprehensive inpatient spine surgery services, including discectomy, fusion and decompression procedures. Blue Distinction Centers (BDC) met overall quality measures for patient safety and outcomes, developed with input from the medical community. Blue Distinction Centers+ (BDC+) also met cost measures that address consumers need for affordable healthcare. Individual outcomes may vary. National criteria is displayed on www.bcbs.com.
