Why CTC? When Roger Osborne founded CTC London in 1958 his vision was clear. Mathematics and English Language (compulsorily examined) with Literature (optional examination) Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science Geography, History Art and Design Languages (e.g. German, Spanish, Italian, French, subject to demand) Who is this course for? This course will be suitable for British students retaking their GCSEs or international students transferring here who wish to obtain GCSE qualifications. It will also prepare students very well for continuing on to our A-Level course, although automatic progression is not guaranteed. Who is this course for? This course will be highly suitable for non-native English speakers (minimum IELTS 3.5, or its equivalent) who wish to gain an externally recognised qualification in both English Language and Mathematics, but who also want excellent foundations for A-Level success. 6

96.8% of students rated their host family great or good Homestay and boarding CTC Student Homestay Survey, December 2015 CTC offers two excellent options for accommodation homestay and boarding. Homestay students have the opportunity to live with a carefully chosen local family which truly becomes a home from home. All rooms are single study bedrooms and include internet, bathroom facilities, all laundry, half-board meals from Monday - Friday and all meals at weekends. Our excellent host families provide a safe, secure environment and are individually matched to each student s requirements. The HomeStay environment offers many advantages to young adults preparing for university life. They are encouraged to become independent; to learn about British cultural and social life; to improve their English and, in some cases, make lifetime friends. From September 2016, CTC is delighted to offer the additional choice of boarding accommodation consisting of 40 well equipped modern single and double rooms, all with ensuite facilities and Wi-Fi. Live in CTC staff are on duty 24/7 to provide the highest standards of care and support for our students. 9
Scholarships and bursaries Scholarships These are awarded to students for entry into our A-Level programme and for academic excellence. A scholar must show outstanding potential in our scholarship process, and we expect scholars to be aiming for the very best universities and almost certain to attain A/A* grades at A2. Bursaries CTC offers bursarial help to a family who are eligible to receive a fee discount based on their ability to pay. Potentially bursaries may be worth up to 100% of the College s tuition fees. The Principal and Bursar are always willing to have a personal discussion with any parent about bursarial assistance. 10
CTC has an outstanding educational system and is fully committed to academic excellence CTC Alumna, Thailand Pastoral support There is a dedicated and very experienced welfare team in College to support each and every student to ensure they are happy, healthy and ready to make the most of all the opportunities available here at CTC. In addition, each student is under the care of a Personal Tutor, who would normally be one of their academic staff. There are formal weekly meetings as well as additional one-to-one sessions, making sure all our students are closely monitored and supported to ensure they reach their full personal and academic potential. Communication with home is very important, in addition to termly reports, there is close monitoring of both attendance and academic performance and parents are contacted immediately with any concerns. In addition to parents evening, parents are welcome to visit CTC at any time throughout the academic year. 11

CTC London The College is situated on the outskirts of London just twenty minutes by train from the heart of the capital city. Croydon itself is undergoing a 1 billion redevelopment programme that will lead to new homes and an impressive new shopping centre. The vibrant, multi-cultural environment means there are many opportunities to fully sample life in London. Croydon has excellent transport links provided by a network of trams, buses and trains. Central London (Waterloo, London Bridge and Victoria stations) is only a 15 minute train ride from East Croydon station. Trains depart to the centre of London every few minutes. London Heathrow Airport is less than an hour s drive and Gatwick airport is closer still as little as 20 minutes by direct rail link.
