Merchant Processing Discount Rates Discount Rates are Fees Charges by the Merchant Level Sales Person to the Merchant ON TOP of Processing and Interchange Fees Tier 1* (Qualified Rate) A merchant will almost always qualify for tier 1 if the transaction is swiped at the point of sale and the batch is settled within 24 hours Tier 2* (Mid-Qualified) A merchant will almost always qualify at tier 2 if the transaction is hand keyed at the point of sale and Address Verification is obtained (batch must be settled within 24 hours) Tier 3* (Non-Qualified) The highest discount rate a merchant can be charged. Merchants will qualify here for corporate/business card transactions, hand keyed transactions where AVS was NOT performed, the batch was not settled within 24 hours, etc. VERY Competitive Buy Rates Available for Retail/Restaurant, Lodging, Quick Service Restaurants, Supermarket, and E- Commerce/MO/TO Available Including a LOWER Buy Rate for Check Card Transactions in Some Industries *These descriptions are generalizations. There are MANY additional reasons why a merchant may qualify for each tier.
