Please visit our office during your lunch period and make copies of the scholarship of interest to you. Unless otherwise specified, the deadlines given are the programs deadlines. Be sure to refer to refer to the Deadlines document on the counseling Page of the School s website to determine when you have to submit your application to the Counseling Office to be guaranteed that it will be mailed by the programs deadline. Leaders and Achievers: The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors that are committed to community service, academics, and demonstrates leadership abilities. One student may receive a one- time grant of $1000. Contact your counselor to have a chance at being nominated. Application deadline December 4 th, 2014. The Bill of Rights Institute is offering the We the Students Scholarship contest. The scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated and excitement for civics, citizenship, history, government or economics; students who have a passionate about the founding principles, and who would be excited at the opportunity to win $5000 cash award. First prize winner will receive $5000, second prize winner will receive $3000 and third prize winner will receive $1500. Five Honorable Mentions worth $300 will also be awarded. Each year the Elks National Foundation awards $3.74 million in scholarships to tomorrow s leaders. This program is a nurturing program designed to support students with financial, personal and professional support they need so they can reach their full potential. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation is offering the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award which recognizes high school students who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative. The scholarship amount varies from $1,000 to $15,000. Applicant must be enrolled in a two or four year accredited college and must also own or operate an established business. Eligible students are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American, are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States, cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale or have earned a GED, have demonstrated leadership abilities through

The RMHC Scholarship program seeks to invest in students who are exemplary role models in their communities and have the initiative to fulfill their educational goals. Application Deadline is January 20, 2015. The American Legion department of Illinois High School Oratorical Scholarship - This is a contest for a prepared oration. Scholarship awards range from $100 to $14,000. The Oratorical Application, Communication Agreement and a sponsor check in the amount of $125 for each contestant must be sent to the respective division Americanism Chair by January 24, 2015. The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship has gone live to apply as on November 1, 2014. Students may visit www.jackierobinson.org to learn more about the organization. Each new JRF Scholar receives $24,000 over four years to attend a four-year accredited college or university. In addition to cash grants, JRF Scholars participate in our extensive, four-year program that includes: mentoring, leadership development, practical skill-building, internship and job counseling and placement, and a myriad of networking opportunities. The Joseph Blazek Foundation is offering the Educational Scholarship to students desiring to major in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, or a scientific related field. Students must demonstrate the ability and strong desire to achieve a good record at the college of their choice. The scholarship recipient will be award a minimum of $500.00. Interested students can pick up the application at the counseling office. Application deadline is March 15 th, 2015. Fashion Schools: The Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Animation Career Review: Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship Program is a $1,000 scholarship offered to high school seniors. This will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. APIAF: Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund supports the cost of attendance. Eligible students are of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity, be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply, be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2015. Eligible students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED. Students must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit a letter of recommendation. Kennedy Library Foundation Essay Contest invites US high school students to write a creative essay on an act of political courage by a US elected official who served during or after 1956; political courage as defined by JFK s Profiles in Courage book. First place winner will receive a $5000 cash award and $5000 to grow a John Hancock Freedom

Metra Annual Safety Poster and Essay Contest. Unplug for Safety: Look, Listen Live. The Safety Poster and Essay contest is a key part of Metra s ongoing effort to increase public awareness about lifesaving railroad safety practices. Golden Apple Scholars The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program recruits and prepares a diverse group of bright and talented high school graduates and college sophomores who have promise for successful careers as excellent teachers in high need schools throughout Illinois. Northside College Prep H. S. Scholarship Information-College Specific October 2014 Students: These colleges offer scholarships to their students. These scholarships usually require separate applications. Unless otherwise specified, the deadlines given are the programs deadlines. The University of Texas at Dallas Eugene McDermott Scholars Program - Top seniors may be eligible for this scholars program valued at more than $225,000 (out-of-state) and $140,000 (in-state). This 46 month long award includes monthly stipends; $1,000 book allowance; $12 000 per scholar for funding for studying abroad; Post-college preparation support of up to $3,000 per student; Cultural experiences; Cohort travel; Networking opportunities; Professional staff dedication to the operation of the McDermott Program and the success of its Scholars. Hays Memorial Scholarship, Hendrix College - The Hays Memorial Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship offered by Hendrix College. The Scholarship is awarded to four deserving freshman and provides funds for tuition, room, board, and mandatory fees. Qualified students must: 1) be a senior in High School; 2) achieve at least a 3.6 GPA in High School or college preparatory classes; 3) score a minimum ACT super score composite of 32 or a minimum ACT Critical Reading and Math Super Score of 1410; and 4) ideally apply by Hendrix s November 15 Early Action I deadline, but no later than February 1 Early Action II deadline. IUPUI, Indiana s Urban Research Campus, offers high ability students a unique experience. Honors Scholars participate in experiential learning, service learning, study abroad, and research opportunities. The Honors Program is linked to world class faculty engaged in cutting edge and translational research. IUPUI offers both IU and Purdue degrees. Incoming

freshman who meet the criteria and apply for admission to IUPUI for fall 2015 by December 1, 2014 may be offered a Chancellor s Scholarship and direct admission to the IUPUI Honors College. The IUPUI Honors College also offers high ability incoming freshmen the opportunity to apply for named scholarships which include The Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program, the Adam W. Herbert Presidential Scholars Program, and the Plater International Scholars Program. Indiana University Scott College of Business full tuition, four-year renewable scholarship at Indiana State University. The Networks financial Institute (NFI) was created by a grant from the Lilly Endowment. Networks Scholarships are available to students majoring in business with the intention to pursue careers in the financial services industry. Students must meet 2 of these three criteria 1) A cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale; 2) A 1070 SAT (combined critical reading and math) or 23 ACT; 3) Ranking in the top 15% of the senior class. This scholarship is only available to students who have applied to Indiana State and students must have applied to access the application materials which are due by December 1, 2014. Davidson College presents The Charles Scholarship, a full, comprehensive cost four year award. The award recognizes CPS seniors of significant leadership and outstanding academic and personal achievements. Scholarship receipts must document financial need. Gonzaga University Ignatian Leaders Scholarship- Highly selective merit based scholarship for students who have an application on file with the university. The scholarship recognizes high school students (seniors) whose high school work provides evidence of superior academic achievement and demonstrated leadership in school or community affairs. The scholarship is available to 20 distinguished incoming freshmen and provides $6000/annually over four consecutive years. Students interested in the Ignatian Leaders Scholarship must contact the financial aid office at Gonzaga University and ask for an application. Applications due (either postmarked or submitted electronically) by January 14 th, 2015.

Hollins University offers three opportunities for students to showcase their best work in a particular area of interest for sophomore and junior girls. Winning students are provided awards up to $200, live and website venues to showcase their work and a certificate of achievement. Short Screenplay contest entries are due January 15, 2015. Paula Levine Choreographers Contest entries are due January 15, 2015. 10-Minute Play entries are due February 15, 2015. University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Services (ACES) Jonathan Baldwin Turner (JBT) Scholarship Program, provides renewable scholarship awards up to $10,000 over four years. Qualified students who are applying to the ACES school at U of I (admissions.illinos.edu) may apply for the JBT scholarship online at academics.aces.illinois.edu/scholarships/jbt. Admissions deadline is December 1, 2014. The application for the JBT scholarship application is due January 16, 2015. Explore ACES open house (March 13-14, 2015; exploraces.org) The University of Michigan is offering the Gloria Willie Bell and Carlos R. Bell Scholarship Program to support students pursuing degrees in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or another scientific related field. Wace Scholarship honors high school seniors who excel in academics. Eligible students must have a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and apply and be accepted to a Wace Partner Institution; Clarkson University, Oswego State University of New York, Drexel University, University of Cincinnati, Johnson and Wales University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Toledo, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Merrimack College, and/or Kettering University. The Dease Scholarship Program provides full tuition scholarships to qualified underrepresented domestic, first generation students and graduates of urban high schools in select locations. This is a competitive process in which students must first be admitted to St. Thomas and submit an essay to the

Greehey Scholars Program of St. Mary s University- The Greehey Scholar Program provides full scholarships to qualified in state, out-of-state and international undergraduate students in the Greehey School of Business. The scholarship covers tuition and fees, room and board as well as an allowance for book for all four years. The scholarship also provides a stipend for study-abroad opportunities and funds for travel expenses. Qualified candidate requirements must be accepted into the St. Mary s University with a declared major in business, minimum SAT of 1220 or a minimum ACT score of 27, high school class rank within the top 10 percent, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, written essays based on prompts, and an on campus interview. Boston University Trustee Scholarship Competition- The scholarship competition attracts students from all around the world with academic ability and the potential to inspire fellow students to excel. Trustee scholars are ranked at the top of their class and demonstrate exceptional leadership in their schools and communities. The Trustee Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition plus orientation and mandatory student fees for four years. University Achievement Award: This scholarship program is designed to attract exceptional, in-state students to U.Va. We are looking for students who will add to the diversity of the University community. We hope this award, covering full tuition for four years, will make it easier for these students to attend U.Va. All in-state applicants will automatically be considered for this award. The most competitive applicants will demonstrate through the U.Va. supplement of the common application that they have special talents, unique personal characteristics, and/or pressing needs which will assist us with our objective to recruit and retain a diverse student body. Academic merit, leadership, service and citizenship are primary considerations. A student must also satisfy at least two of the following conditions: Have a history of overcoming disadvantage Be a first generation college student Be a member of an underrepresented minority or ethnic group Be a member of a low-income family Reside in a rural or inner-city location Has been raised in a single-parent household

Walter N. Ridley Scholarship: The Black Alumni Association sponsors several scholarships designed to support African American students coming to the University of Virginia. These scholarships range from $2,500 -$12,500 are awarded to students annually. Students typically have excelled academically in school, usually are in the top 15% of their class, and have special talents and/or leadership qualities. The Flagship Ridley Scholarship ($12,500) is for Virginians only and these applicants are selected through their admission applications. They are brought to Grounds to complete through a selection process similar to the Holland Blackburn Scholarship. aig.alumni.virginia.edu/ridley/ridley-scholarships/ Holland Blackburn Scholarship: This scholarship formerly known as the Jerome Holland Scholarship is now administered by the Ridley Foundation through the alumni association. The scholarship is designed to attract academically talented African-American students from across the nation to the University of Virginia. Approximately two scholarships are awarded annually, $40,000 annually for an out-of-state students. To select new Holland scholars each year, the most outstanding African-American applicants (based on their academic performance, leadership capabilities, and potential as role models for their peers) are invited to Grounds to compete for the scholarship. Nominations from guidance counselors are quite helpful in pointing out particularly strong candidates for this award. In recent years, Holland scholars have averaged 600 or better on each section of their SATs and are typically in the top 10% of their class. This scholarship is for out of state students only. aig.alumni.virginia.edu/ridley/ridley- scholarships/ Jefferson Scholarship: The Alumni Association sponsors this scholarship for any student applying to the University. This is a full scholarship and the process begins with a nomination from your school directly to the Jefferson Scholarship Foundation. For more details, visit their web site at www.jeffersonscholars.org Hispanic Scholarship Fund: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is the largest scholarship-granting organization in the nation. HSF provides financial assistance to outstanding Hispanic students in higher education throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The students represent every region of the country and attend hundreds of institutions of higher education throughout America. Founded in 1975, HSF has awarded over 45,000 scholarships totally $60 million. These scholarships require an application and are separate from the University of Virginia. Students who have been admitted to the University of Virginia in order to be considered must submit at least one letter of reference from a Native American tribal leader and complete an application.
