Competition Regultions dted Mrh 2012 were pulished y the FIH to ssist Ntionl Assoitions in their preprtions for the Gmes. However, the FIH reserved the right to hnge ny of these Regultions prior to 9 July 2012 eing the dedline for Ntionl Olympi Committees to sumit their entries; suh hnges re identified elow y lines in the mrgins. These revised Competition Regultions re referred to herefter s these Regultions. 1 INTERPRETATION In these Regultions, unless the ontext otherwise requires, the following words nd expressions hve the menings set out elow: FIH IOC LOCOG NA NOC Cxx The Interntionl Hokey Federtion The Interntionl Olympi Committee London Orgnising Committee for the Olympi Gmes nd Prlympi Gmes of the XXX Olympid Ntionl Assoition The Ntionl Olympi Committee of ountry s reognized y the IOC Codes of forms nd reports in the Olympi Results nd Informtion Servies (ORIS) system Words importing the plurl shll inlude the singulr nd vie vers. 2 RULES OF THE COMPETITION 2.1 Pursunt to the Olympi Chrter, FIH ssumes the responsiility for the tehnil ontrol nd diretion of its sport t the Olympi Gmes. 2.2 The ompetition shll e onduted in ordne with the Rules of Hokey in fore on the first plying dy of the ompetition exept s vried y Appendix 1 of these Regultions nd in ordne with these Regultions. 2.3 The ompetition pln nd rnking sheme is set out in Appendix 2. 3 COMPETITION OFFICIALS 3.1 The President of the FIH (or, in his sene, the Chief Exeutive Offier of the FIH) is the FIH Representtive during the ompetition. 3.2 A Tehnil Delegte is ppointed y the FIH for eh of the men s nd women s ompetitions. The Tehnil Delegte hs the full power nd uthority of the FIH in reltion to ll mtters onerning the ondut of the ompetition in ordne with these Regultions. Pge 2

3.3 The Tehnil Delegte ppoints the Umpires (inluding the Video Umpire), Assistnt Tehnil Delegtes nd Judges for eh mth from mong the persons ppointed y the FIH to offiite in the ompetition provided tht: mth or video Umpires must not e ppointed to mth in whih their ountry is plying (it eing the se tht whenever possile, the sme priniple will pply to ny offiil on duty for mth); n offiil of prtiipting tem is not permitted to e tehnil offiil of the ompetition. 3.4 The Tehnil Delegte ensures tht ll prtiipnts ide y the FIH Code of Condut (Appendix 4) nd hs uthority to tke tion in ordne with the Code. 3.5 With the onsent of the FIH Representtive, the Tehnil Delegte my delegte the exerise of their powers nd uthorities to n Assistnt Tehnil Delegte, in whole or in prt nd for suh durtion s the Tehnil Delegte deems neessry. In the sene of the FIH Representtive, suh power of delegtion my only e exerised with the onsent of the FIH Chief Exeutive Offier. 4 TEAM ENTRY 4.1 Only tems from NOC s whih hve qulified for the XXX Olympid in ordne with the qulifition proess pproved y the IOC will e permitted to prtiipte. The entry proess will follow the online system pproved y the IOC, FIH, nd LOCOG. 4.2 NOC s re responsile for ompleting nd sumitting the LOCOG online pplition for redittion for ll individul plyers not lter thn 23 Mrh 2012. There is no restrition s to the numer of plyers tht my e sumitted for the long list. 4.3 NOC s re responsile for ompleting nd sumitting the Applition for Aredittion forms for ll tem offiils not lter thn 23 Mrh 2012. There is no restrition s to the numer of tem offiils tht my e sumitted for the long list. 4.4 NOC s re responsile for ompleting nd sumitting the LOCOG online Sport Entry Form etween 1 June nd midnight (GMT + 1hour) on 9 July 2012, using only plyers previously registered in the long list. 4.5 All plyers must e identified y their respetive plying shirts numered within the rnge 1-32 whih must remin the sme throughout the ompetition. 4.6 The online Sport Entry Form must inlude: the nmes of up to 16 plyers identified y their respetive plying shirt numers nd inditing the nominted ptin; the nmes of up to two (2) lternte plyers identified y their respetive plying shirt numers (P Aredittions in line with the IOC Aredittion nd Entries t the Olympi Gmes Users Guide, April 2011); Pge 3

d e detils of the lu, ity nd ountry of the lu tht eh plyer represents, their plying position nd the numer of interntionl ps nd gols hieved t the time of sumission; detils of the primry nd lterntive olours of field plyers lothing; eh piee in one set must omprise t lest 80% single olour nd the other set must onsist of olour(s) ompletely different from the dominnt one(s) in the first mentioned set for shirt, shorts/skirt nd soks; nd detils of the primry nd lterntive olours of golkeepers shirts whih must onsist of olours ompletely different from the primry nd lternte olours of the field plyers shirts nd must not e yellow. 4.7 The following informtion must e sumitted through the Applition for Aredittion system: the nme of the Tem Mnger: not eing ny of the Tem Coh, Assistnt Tem Coh, Tem Physiotherpist or Tem Medil Dotor; the nme of stnd-in Tem Mnger not eing ny of the Tem Coh, Assistnt Tem Coh, Tem Physiotherpist or Tem Medil Dotor. The Stnd-in Tem Mnger will tke over the duties nd responsiilities of the Tem Mnger if nominted to e the Tem Mnger for prtiulr mth or if the Tem Mnger is inpitted or suspended; the nmes of the Tem Coh, Assistnt Tem Coh, Tem Physiotherpist nd Tem Medil Dotor, wishing to e uthorized to sit on the tem enh; 4.8 Where injury, urgent medil prolems, or other exeptionl irumstnes rise fter the losure of entries on 9 July, ut efore the pre-ompetition riefing meeting, it is possile for tem to mke lte plyer or tem offiil replement s long s the plyers nd tem offiils re registered in the long list. For plyers, these hnges should follow the proess outlined in the IOC Lte Athlete Replement Poliy (Appendix 7). Any suh hnges should lso e dvised to the Tehnil Delegte t the pre-ompetition riefing meeting nd indited on the Provisionl Tem Roster (C33). 4.9 LOCOG must hnd opy of ll the Provisionl Tem Rosters (C33) to the Tehnil Delegte upon their rrivl t the venue. 4.10 The following pplies to the lternte plyers (P redittions): fter the pre-ompetition riefing meeting, ny request to hnge the sttus of n lternte plyer in order to enrol them in the offiil list of 16 plyers must e mde in ordne with the IOC Lte Athlete Replement Poliy (Appendix 7) using only P redited thletes; the FIH Athlete Replement Medil Pnel, omprising the three FIH Medil Offiers ppointed for the Olympi Gmes ompetitions, shll onsider ny request for the replement of plyer in the event of injury or urgent medil ondition or in other exeptionl irumstnes nd provide reommendtion to the IOC in reltion to the replement. The IOC shll not e ound y ny reommendtion mde y the FIH Athlete Replement Medil Pnel. The deision of the IOC shll e inding nd not sujet to ppel in ny respet. One withdrwn from the tem list the plyer is not llowed to ompete in the ompetition; Pge 4

ll osts inurred y ny lternte plyer (irfres, ord, lodging et) shll e orne y either the relevnt NA or the respetive NOC. 4.11 In the se of withdrwl of one or more tems pre-event, the prtiiption of reserve tem(s) is sujet to the FIH nd IOC qulifition proess s set out in the Qulifition System (My 2011) doument. 4.12 In the se of non-prtiiption of one or more tem(s) following pulition of the Mth Shedule, the FIH reserves the right to re-rrnge, in greement with the IOC nd LOCOG, the omposition of the pools prior to the pre-ompetition riefing meetings. 5 PRE-COMPETITION BRIEFING MEETINGS 5.1 Tem Mngers nd stnd-in Tem Mngers must ttend the meeting with the Tehnil Delegte t time nd ple to e speified. 5.2 Tem Mngers must ring to this meeting or suh other meeting speified y the Tehnil Delegte: smples of the lothing of their field plyers nd golkeepers (primry nd lternte olours) nd ll plying equipment for pprovl prior to the ommenement of the ompetition; equipment inludes golkeepers hedger, hnd protetors, leg gurds nd kikers together with ny protetive equipment suh s fe msks nd hnd protetors worn y field plyers; stiks for ll plyers will lso e heked ut the Tehnil Delegte my uthorise this to e t nother time. the pssports of plyers for proof of identity nd ntionlity; the Tehnil Delegte my require plyer to ttend with their pssport to verify identity; no other form of doumenttion (eg ntionl identity rd) is eptle; Aknowledgement nd Agreement Forms required y the FIH Code of Condut signed y eh individul prtiipnt (ie ll tem memers nd tem offiils, inluding plyers, mngers, ohes, tehnil, medil nd pr-medil stff); the FIH Anti-Doping Regultions nd Imge Rights Poliy re superseded t this ompetition y IOC rules. 5.3 Using the Provisionl Tem Roster (C33) supplied y the FIH, Tem Mngers must onfirm or dvise the Tehnil Delegte of ny inuries in the doument. No further mendments will e epted fter this meeting. 5.4 After the hnges hve een pproved y the FIH nd mde y LOCOG, the Strting Line-Up Nomintion (C65A) forms for ll the pool mthes will e mde ville eletronilly to Tem Mngers. The Strting Line-Up Nomintion (C65A) forms will inlude the individul detils of eh mth nd the 16 eligile plyers nd tem offiils. 5.5 After the ompletion of ll the pool mthes the Strting Line-Up Nomintion (C65A) forms for the lssifition mthes will e mde ville to Tem Mngers on mth y mth sis. 5.6 The Tem Medil Dotor (if ny) must ttend the meeting with the FIH ppointed Medil Offier t time nd ple to e speified. If tem hs not nominted Tem Medil Dotor, the Tem Physiotherpist or other tem medil person must ttend the meeting. 5.7 The Tem Coh must ttend the meeting with the FIH ppointed Umpires Mngers t time nd ple to e speified. 6 COMPOSITION OF A TEAM 6.1 No lter thn sixty (60) minutes efore the strt of every mth, eh Tem Mnger must deliver the Strting Line-Up Nomintion (C65A) to the Competition Mngement offie either in person or y emil to hokeyforms@london2012.om nominting: d e f g the eleven plyers who will e on the field of ply t the ommenement of the mth; the five plyers who will strt on the tem enh (unless one or more plyers hs or hve een suspended for tht mth in whih se the relevnt plyer(s) should e inluded on the form ut mrked with n S); the ptin nd golkeeper(s) for the mth; the Tem Mnger for the mth; the Coh on the tem enh for the mth; Physiotherpist (if ny); Medil Dotor (if ny). 6.2 Nomintions n only e mde from the plyers nd tem offiils whose nmes pper on the Tem Roster (C33), exluding ny person who hs een suspended from prtiipting in the mth y the Tehnil Delegte nd sujet to the following in reltion to Physiotherpist or Dotor. A Physiotherpist or Dotor my lso e nominted from n NOC pool of physiotherpists or dotors who hve een redited for hokey. 6.3 If plyer nominted in the strting line is injured or inpitted efore the strt of the mth nd s result the strting line up is to e hnged, the Tem Mnger must dvise the tehnil offiils t the erliest opportunity; hnges within 10 minutes of the strt of mth will only e permitted in exeptionl irumstnes greed with the Assistnt Tehnil Delegte on duty. 6.4 Any dditionl persons nmed on the Tem Roster (C33) my e with their tem up to 10 minutes prior to the sheduled strt time of the mth or time indited y the Tehnil Delegte t the pre-ompetition riefing meeting. The Tem Mnger is responsile for ensuring tht these dditionl persons remin outside the field of ply until the mth inluding ny extr time nd shoot-outs, is ompleted. 6.5 A mximum of two (2) lternte plyers (P redittions) per tem my wrm up with their tem on pith 2 nd must leve pith 2 when the tem leves it. The Tem Mnger is responsile for ensuring tht these lternte plyers remin outside the field of ply on pith 1 throughout the ompetition. Pge 6

6.6 An pplition to dmit n lternte plyer with P redittion to the ompetition will not e onsidered within sixty (60) minutes efore the strt of mth. 7 TEAM CLOTHING, EQUIPMENT AND COLOURS 7.1 The Tehnil Delegte, t their solute disretion, shll speify to the Tem Mngers the lothing to e worn y their field plyers nd golkeepers through the Strting Line-Up Nomintion (C65A) for eh mth. 7.2 Any dditionl items of lothing worn y plyer during mth must e the sme olour s the djoining piee of lothing. 7.3 When wrming up during mth, sustitutes must wer is or some other form of lothing in olour different to oth tems. 7.4 Eh field plyer s numer must: pper in distintive filled (not outlined) figure(s); e not less thn 16 m nd not more thn 20 m in height on the k of the plyer's shirt; e not less thn 7 m nd not more thn 9 m in height on the front of the plyer's shorts/skirt t thigh level. 7.5 Eh golkeeper s numer must: pper in distintive filled (not outlined) figure(s); e not less thn 16 m nd not more thn 20 m in height on the k of the golkeeper s shirt; e not less thn 7 m nd not more thn 20 m in height on the front of the golkeeper s shirt. 7.6 Eh plyer s nme must: pper on the k of their shirt (exept if they re tking prt t tht time s field plyer with golkeeping privileges); e in distintive filled (not outlined) letters not less thn 6 m nd not more thn 10 m in height; e positioned ove the plyer's numer so tht the numer remins lerly visile. 7.7 Eh tem involved in mth must hve ville with it two spre sets of plyers lothing without numer plus suitle mteril for numering in n emergeny suh s replement of lood-stined lothing. 7.8 All plyers must e uniformly nd netly dressed t ll times during mth. 7.9 Field plyers must: wer shin gurds inside the soks nd elow the knee t ll times during mth; Pge 7

wer ny ody protetion (inluding leg protetion) underneth norml plying lothing; not wer ny dditionl protetive equipment relted to medil resons or similr s speified in the Rules of Hokey unless pproved y the Tehnil Delegte. 7.10 Golkeepers must not wer yellow shirts. 7.11 All lothing nd equipment is sujet to Rule 50 of the Olympi Chrter (Appendix 8). 7.12 A plyer on the field of ply must not use or e equipped with ny devie to reeive ommunition. 8 DURATION OF MATCHES 8.1 A mth onsists of two periods of 35 minutes eh nd hlf-time intervl of 10 minutes. 8.2 The seond hlf of mth will egin extly 10 minutes fter the end of the first hlf whether or not oth tems re on the field of ply redy to ply. 8.3 Extr-time my e plyed in lssifition mth s speified in Appendix 2. 8.4 The Umpires strt nd re-strt the mth; they lso signl to the tehnil offiils on duty every time stoppge they order nd the susequent re-strt. 8.5 Time-keeping is ontrolled y the tehnil offiils on duty; they re responsile for signlling the end of eh hlf nd, if neessry, extr time. If mth, however, is prolonged t hlf-time or full-time to llow for the ompletion of penlty orner s speified in the Rules of Hokey, the Umpires will signl the end of tht hlf. 9 SUBSTITUTION OF PLAYERS 9.1 Sustitution tkes ple s speified in the Rules of Hokey from the 16 plyers in the Strting Line-Up Nomintion (C65A). 9.2 Sustitution tkes ple under the supervision of tehnil offiil on duty. 9.3 A plyer wishing to enter the field of ply s sustitute must disply ord ering the numer of the plyer oming off the field. 9.4 After leving the field of ply hving een sustituted, plyer must immeditely go to the tem enh. 9.5 Tem Mngers re responsile for the proper pplition of the proedures. 10 ADMISSION TO THE FIELD OF PLAY 10.1 The Coh on the tem enh my not enter the field of ply during plying time under ny irumstnes ut my do so during shoot-out ompetition. 10.2 The Tem Mnger, the Physiotherpist nd sustitute plyers nominted for tht mth, up to mximum of eight persons, plus the Tem Medil Dotor, if registered, must remin seted on the tem enh during plying time, inluding time stoppges, unless the Assistnt Tehnil Delegte on duty or Umpire(s) diret otherwise or when implementing the sustitution proedures. The Coh nominted for the tem enh must remin in n re designted y the Assistnt Tehnil Delegte on duty ut need not e seted. Sustitutes my leve their sets to wrm up in n re designted y the Assistnt Tehnil Delegte on duty. The Tem Medil Dotor nd Physiotherpist my leve their sets to tret plyers in the re t the end of the tem enh. 10.3 The nominted Tem Mnger is responsile for the ondut of ll persons oupying the enh, must e present on the enh during the mth nd must oupy the set nerest to the tehnil offiils tle. 10.4 Vol ommunition y tem offiils nd/or plyers on the tem enh must not e direted t the tehnil offiils seted t the tle, the Umpires nd/or the plyers of the opposing tem. 10.5 If misondut ours fter Tem Mnger hs een wrned out ts of misondut on their tem enh, the Assistnt Tehnil Delegte on duty is empowered to order the person or persons involved to leve the tem enh nd remin in the tem hnging room for the rest of the mth. After the mth, the Assistnt Tehnil Delegte will report the irumstnes to the Tehnil Delegte who my tke further disiplinry tion. 10.6 No inpity tretment is permitted on the field of ply exept for golkeepers s provided elow. If plyer eomes inpitted on the field of ply, one of the Umpires my stop the mth nd ssess whether or not the plyer requires ttention. When field plyer is inpitted: i ii iii iv the Umpire my uthorise the registered Tem Medil Dotor nd/or Physiotherpist to enter the field of ply; if tem does not hve suh registered offiils, the Umpire will uthorise the onduty FIH Medil Offier nd/or Tem Mnger, to enter the field of ply; if neessry, the Umpire my lso uthorise strether erers to enter the field of ply; persons uthorised to enter the field of ply re required to ssist nd remove the plyer onerned from the field of ply s soon s it is sfe to do so. APPENDIX 9 CONTINGENCY PLAN CONCERNING COMPETITION SCHEDULE 1 BACKGROUND This Appendix intends to guide deision mking nd identify potentil thresholds in the event of dely, postponement or nelltion, rther thn provide solutions to ll possile eventulities. It will enle the FIH, LOCOG nd the IOC to ssess the potentil ourse of tion to e tken if ny of the rod senrios introdued elow our. DELAY : mth hs not strted t its sheduled strt time or is interrupted fter the sheduled strt. The mth is restrted nd ompleted within the sheduled session or n extended session. POSTPONEMENT : mth whih ws underwy nnot e ompleted within the sheduled session timings (or in n extended session) nd will e resheduled to lter session. This lso pplies to either whole session or dy of ompetition whih nnot e strted nd is resheduled for lter in the Gmes. The proedures for postponement will lso e pplied when it is proposed to move n event(s) forwrd in the shedule to n erlier session or to hnge session to n erlier strt time. CANCELLATION: mth whih nnot e resheduled prior to the Closing Ceremony of the Olympi Gmes (Olympi events). The Competition Shedule Chnge Committee (CSCC) is the ody responsile for overseeing nd pproving hnges to the ompetition shedule during the Olympi Gmes.
