Facilities and Equipment The Harper Center features a number of audio/visual resources throughout the facility. Descriptions of the classroom and conference room features can be found below. If you have any questions regarding specific features, or if you have a request that you are not sure can be accommodated, please contact the AV Department. All Harper Classrooms are identically configured and feature the same audio/visual capabilities, which include: Three Projectors/Three Screens One Wireless Lavaliere Microphone (Speech Reinforcement) Ceiling Speakers Camera for Lecture Recording Whiteboards Assisted Listening Headsets It is not possible to add additional wireless microphones to these rooms or to set up panel microphones in these rooms. However, the acoustics of the rooms are generally good enough to use without additional speech reinforcement. If you are recording a lecture or guest speaker in the room, you must wear the Lavaliere microphone to ensure adequate audio levels for the recording. Classroom C25 Classroom C25 is the largest of the classrooms. It has some additional audio/visual features, which include: Capability for video conferencing Four Cameras for Lecture Recording Assisted Listening Headsets* Panel Microphones (5) * Video Conferencing *
Audio (Telephone) Conferencing * Assisted Listening (On Request) * On request Because of the size of the room, microphones are recommended for panel discussions, and up to five microphones (wired) may be requested. If you would like to conduct a video conference in C25, please complete the Recording Request in MRM when you reserve your room. Seminar Room 3A Seminar Room 3A is a small, reconfigurable seminar room. The audio/visual features include: * * Located in AV closet in room Speech reinforcement and assisted listening are not available in this seminar room. Seminar Room 3B Seminar Room 3B is a larger seminar room. The audio/visual features include: One Wireless Lavaliere Microphone (for recording purposes, not room amplification) Camera for Lecture Recording Speech reinforcement is not available in the seminar rooms. General Conference Room 223 Conference Room 223 is available for general use, and features:
General Conference Room 100-9A Conference Room 100-9A is available for general use, and features: General Conference Room 100-9H Conference Room 100-9H is available for general use, and features: 50" Plasma Monitor General Conference Room C50A and C50B Conference Rooms C50A and C50B are available for general use, and feature: 60" LCD Monitors system. Multi-Purpose Room 104A/B/C Room 104 is a multi-purpose room which features three sections (A/B/C) which may be combined to form one large space, or used individually for three smaller spaces (or in combinations). Assisted Listening Headsets Wireless Lavaliere Microphones (2 Per Section) Wireless Handheld Microphones (1 Per Section) Panel Discussion Microphones (Up to 5 Total) Video conferencing (104B Only) The room can support multiple wireless Lavaliere microphones or wireless hand-held microphones, depending upon the room configuration. Because the room is multi-purpose, the lecterns for each section of the room are portable. The audio/visual features of the room can be used with or without the lectern. If the lectern is necessary for a speaker, it must be requested when scheduling the room. Multi-Purpose Room 219 Room 219 is a multi-purpose room which features an AV system similar to the classrooms, including: Assisted Listening Headsets Wireless Lavaliere Microphones (Up to 4) Wireless Handheld Microphones (2) The room can support multiple wireless Lavaliere microphones or wireless hand-held microphones. Because the room is multi-purpose, the audio/visual features of the room can be used with or without the lectern. If the lectern is necessary for a speaker, it must be requested when scheduling the room. Faculty Conference Room 3SW Conference Room 3SW is available for Faculty use, and features:
50" Plasma Monitor Video Conference System To use the room's video conference system, please schedule the room at least 48 hours in advance and complete the Recording Request in MRM when you schedule your room. Faculty Conference Room 4SE Conference Room 4SE is available for Faculty use, and features: 50" Plasma Monitor Video Conference System Faculty Conference Room 5SE Conference Room 5SE is available for Faculty use, and features: 50" Plasma Monitor Video Conference System Winter Garden The Winter Garden features limited audio/visual capabilities, which include: One Projector/Screen Portable Lectern Wireless Lavaliere Microphones (2) Wireless Handheld Microphones (Up to 4) Panel Discussion Microphones (Up to 5) All events requiring audio/visual support in the Winter Garden must be arranged by special request. Additionally, due to the glass walls and ceiling in the Winter Garden, the projection
system is not functional until approximately one hour after sundown. Events which absolutely require projection should not be scheduled for the Winter Garden during daylight hours. Student Lounge 113 The Student Lounge features several televisions which may be used by students to watch cable television. Additionally, the room features: DVD Player Cable TV Student Multi-Media Rooms (C46 and C47) The Harper Center features two Multi-Media rooms that may be used for students to produce and edit audio or video presentations. These rooms are dual purpose, also functioning as group study rooms, and may be booked through MRM. Each room features: imac Workstation o Photoshop o imovie o idvd o GarageBand o Logic Express Blue Snowball USB Microphone M-Audio Fast Track User guides and materials are also available on-line and the Help Desk has video camera and lighting kits available for checkout as well. In addition to these spaces, various departments may have departmental conference rooms or other facilities that feature audio/visual capabilities.
